The Rise & Fall of the FA Cup GIANT-KILLER 🏆 Hereford United

  • 🐂 Hereford United went into liquidation in 2014 BUT it's fair to say the club enjoyed some incredible highs as well as some tragic lows over the years... 🤔 Famously Hereford United Football Club was most known for its FA Cup "Giant Killing" of Newcastle United in 1972. THAT Ronnie Radford goal is played every time a non-league club meets an English footballing giant in cup competition. For me, the game against Brighton in 1997 was the start of the decline for HUFC 👉🏽 putting an end to the club's 25 year stay in the Football League. Brighton & Hove Albion were going through their own troubles in 97 after losing their football ground and almost losing the club as a whole. That infamous game in May 1997 is looked back as something to celebrate to many in the footballing world, but for me it will always be reflected on with sadness... Hereford United returned briefly to the football league in 2006, but ultimately their money troubles would catch up with them and in 2014 they went bust over a measly £1.3 million in debt... 😞 Fans helped resurrect Hereford and a phoenix club was set up... "HEREFORD FC" ...with football still being hosted at the Edgar Street stadium. So... after moving away from Herefordshire many years ago, I returned to see what or if anything had changed over the years... in this stadium tour we see that although physically the ground is pretty much as it was in the 90s and before, the feeling around Hereford FC is full of optimism. I've carried a burden of guilt for drifting away from the football club I spent so much time at as child... so from this point forward, I'd like to relieve myself of some of these sins... Ladies & Gents... SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CLUB... Through the good times and the bad... Hereford, it's time to CELEBRATE YOU BABY and I want to PRAISE you like I should (have all these years)... 🤍🖤

Might sound odd coming from somebody who used to attend Vicarage Road regularly during the 1990s but you know that saying "what goes around comes around" ? I believe Luton are actually due some luck come back to them for that points deduction which was the beginning of their fall down to the National League. You look at the teams above them-Forest,Everton etc, they are not exactly pulling away leaving them stranded,i have to give them credit they deserve a second season in the Prem.

Hi Ry, as a Newcastle United fan your boyhood team are a recurring nightmare for me every time the FA Cup comes round lol. Despite that I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching this as I have watching your other videos. Keep doing what you do, it’s excellent and really interesting to a fellow football fan like myself. Thanks 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍

Hi Ry, our present club shop is a joke with very little choice of items. Given that we’re black and white daft up here and would buy fresh air if it had a club crest on it, I’m certain the new owners will realise they’re sitting on a goldmine and the revamped adidas club shop will be a massive step up from what it is today. Hopefully you can get a better quirky item than a duck next time, keep up the good work 👍

Edgar Street. Just look at it. It's a steam train in a world of the High Speed Train. But people stop to watch a steam train go by,and people still want to see a match at this ground, and why not? Close to an equally charasmatic town centre and railway station, this place echoes with John Motson's first BBC FA Cup Commentary game. If there was a list of "want to see this club back in the league" this would be back, along with Aldershot,Bury,Oldham,Rochdale & Halifax 😊

@@RysFootyParadise oh Ry,just seen something that made me laugh on facebook. You may not be aware that cricket counties have local rivalries -though not as intense as soccer or rugby league,it's still nice to get one over the rivals. In Vitality Blast T20 the match between Sussex Sharks (Hove) and Hampshire Hawks (Southampton) is known as "El Clasicoast" .Would be interested to know if football rivals have similar puns 🙂
