WREXHAM TOUR on the channel at the start of next week 👍🏾 NEW Weekly LiveStream format begins THURSDAY 🥳 aswell as videos coming up on the National Football Museum, Club Shop Items and MORE 🍻 oh & booking the Germany trip this weekend 🇩🇪
As an American who started supporting Rovers over 20 years ago because of Brad Friedel's 2002 World Cup, it was really cool to see around the ground and inside Ewood. I've always dreamed of flying over and spending time in Blackburn, and hope to someday. But this was really great, thanks!!
Really enjoyed that. I'm from Norway, and visited Ewood in 96, 98 and 2001. Haven't been there since, but still a big fan of Blackburn. This was a trip down memory lane for me. Great trips, with my father. Rock on!
Brilliant Ry! I’ve been to Ewood Park just once, 13/4/1998 when Arsenal won The League. We beat Rovers 4-1 and Bergkamp and Anelka were on fire that day. It looks just how I remembered it in your video. I found the people of Blackburn very friendly and I loved Ewood Park as a ground. Hopefully they’ll get better ownership in the future. Good luck to Rovers.
Got to admire the occasional miracle of smaller clubs like Blackburn and Leicester winning the league. It's a very rare feat. Hopefully, Spurs are finally on the right track!!
I did a stadium tour of the old Ewood Park sometime in the early 80's. The Boardroom at 22:39 was exactly the same albeit it was in the old Nuttall Street stand (where the Jack Walker Stand is now). During the rebuilding in the 90's they dismantled it piece by piece and rebuilt it in the Blackburn End. Fun fact: There is nothing on the level directly above the Boardroom, because the height of the Boardroom ceiling is greater than the floor to ceiling distance on all the other internal levels of the Blackburn End stand.
Rovers fan here. There's been a much bigger rivalry with Burnley than Bolton historically because of where old counties were drawn and what was produced in the factories. Blackburn and Burnley were East Lancs while Bolton had more rivalry with the Manchester clubs. Also helped that us and the Dingles were more successful round the turn of the century and then the Manc clubs and Bolton more between the wars. Think the Roverstore was built in Summer 94, first time I went in was late October or November that year.
Great video Ry, really enjoyed this one. I love 90's nostalgia as well and this one hits the spot. Ewood looks great. Keep up the great work champ, lovin the content
Nice content. Just very natural and well presented. Started supporting Rovers in 1993 - I'm actually from Burnley, but always absolutely hated the hooligan mentality from all the kids my age who seemed like mini versions of their dads; it just wasn't for me. Went on my first Rovers game in 1994 against Chelsea and never looked back. Season ticket holder from 1996-2008 before I moved to Jamaica in 2009. Watch from a distance now with a lot of sadness, to be honest. I'm glad I got to experience the best years, and as much as 1992-1995 were unbelievable, we had some amazing years after that. Souness taking over was the start of a really good era for us, and then Mark Hughes built an amazing side with a few of the Souness-era players as a backbone.
@@Avid_Fan first Blackburn team to win the F.A.Cup were Blackburn Olympic 1883. i think rovers won it the following year. the posh southern old Etonians who olympic beat couldn't understand how working class northern lads beat them. it was the start of something big and remains big
The platform above the tunnel at 29:11 used to contain a small seating area with about half a dozen or so seats. It was where Jack Walker himself used to sit and which he accessed directly from the hospitality suite behind. When Venky's bought the club and came to their first match, they drew criticism from some supporters for sitting in the same seats (I'm not sure why, they did after all own the club and the stadium by then). Anyway, it looks like the seats have now been removed to prevent any further faux pas. I guess if they ever come back, they'll just have to slum it in the Director's Box in the upper tier!
Enjoyed this video. You had clearly done your research with your Rovers facts. Enjoy the game next Sunday and hope you can be a good luck charm - we could do with one!

We are the only team to bring the FA cup back to England as in 1927 Cardiff won it and in 1928 we took it back to England, the only time it’s ever been brought back, and no doubt always will be
The board room was moved during the rebuild of the new ewood park in the early 1990's Jack Walker insisted that the Manchester United and Burnley crests where put behind the door as he hates both clubs
There's also a Jack Walker Way estate that has various street coming off named after many of the 95 premier league winning team. There is also a walk of fame outside the Blackburn end where bricks were laid that fans purchased with special messages to their loved ones. I've never heard the rumour about the man running down Alan shearer way so I'm not sure if that's true. Also the riverside had plans to be rebuilt but on top of the relegation I heard the river Darwen behind it wasn't strong enough to hold the weight for the new plans. Great video mate. Subscribed.
Love this channel mate, only found it a few weeks ago. You should go to stockport county tomorrow, they need one point to get promotion and you might get some good content. Plus it's a proper traditional old school lower league stadium.
I went over to ewood for a tour way back in 2003 or 2004 i think it was. I was the only person on the tour and club legend ronnie clayton was doing the tour. So had him all to myself for the whole thing. 😊
their reserves used to play here at morecambe about 20 years ago,saw keegan pearce brian robson, david moyes big sam allardyce and many others in the bar well worth 2 quid lol
Good video. A proud old club with a rich history but currently on its knees thanks to our terrible owners. We will rise again though. #venkysout #waggottout
The reason we don’t like shearer is not why he left it was how he left. He said days before leaving “ I’m happy here I want to stay here” then left not long after with no words to the fans or anything just went to Newcastle
Blackburn Rovers don't "claim" to be founder members of the Football League, they were. Blackburn Rovers are the only club to be founder members of the Football League and Premier League and champions of both.
Hillsborough stadium is amazing it holds 39k fans but because of health and safety issues they can only sell 34k/35k fans it’s very old school stadium if you filled in the corner it would hold 45k + Blackburn stadium is impressive they need a new bigger stand so they all match
