I'm mostly mad at Truex's spotter Clayton Hughes for immediately placing blame at Elliott.
Hughes CONSISTENTLY reinforces the worst aspects of the 19 team by giving bad takes to his driver.
Remember 2018 at Martinsville, Truex had a chance to beat Logano back to the line but Hughes came on screaming to wreck him
Yeah, he's been like that multiple times in the past. To be fair, most spotters/crews immediately blame the other driver when their driver gets in an incident.
Hughes needs to be in a different career.

@@ethanhenrichs5677 Yep, Truex essentially admitted that he was committed to moving up (by the line he took to pass) and was just hoping he had enough momentum to clear, i.e., relying on Chase to let him in front. He obviously knew Chase had the better car and this was the only way to have a chance to win. Taking risks to win . . . that's racing.

As a Chase fan and rewatching this a few times, this is a racing deal. This isn't like what happened earlier in the year with Kyle. Just two guys not wanting to give position into a corner when one of them usually has to. You can't blame Truex for going for the win and same with Elliott for trying to do everything to stay on his right rear to keep the momentum.

Do remember chase made the round of 8 with only one top ten during the round of 12. So as long as Chase can get good finishes for the next 2 races I don't think that will be a problem. He just can't have anything bad happen to him for the next 2 races especially next week.

I just got finished watching world of outlaws... Chase simply needed to ease off the gas and cross over the 19. Its been a staple of Darlington racing for over 70 years.
Chase handled it very well unlike some of his fans.
I wonder if there's ever been a Cup/Nextel doubleheader in Nascar history (before now) where in both races with less than 15 laps to go, the 1st and 2nd place driver crashed each other to allow the 3rd place driver to win. Ever? What a bizarre weekend.
And, both involved jgr drivers.
Chase did the same thing at Dover a couple years ago, a JGR car catching you up high so you give them the high line? wtf. The 19 wasn't clear but Chase put himself in that spot by giving Truex the preferred line in 3/4
U forgot to say truex did the same thing this year but OK chase tried going to the bottom to see if there was any speed down there didnt work. Truex got a run side by side into 1 and truex just cleared himself like an idiot.
The difference is though Chase wasn't put into wall for that mistake.

I was there, we sat right at the edge of the backstretch closest to turn 2. It was a hearty battle between two drivers racing for a championship gone wrong. Both 9 and 19 fans have the right to be disappointed, but it would have been down to the wire if no contact was made!

I disagree that this was Truex's only shot. Had he been more patient he would've actually cleared him. I strongly disagree with Truex's statement saying Elliott should have given him the spot. Everyone knows Truex would never give anyone the spot nor should he have.
Chase Elliott is very mature for his age. He handled the incident at martinsville with Denny Hamlin very well and he handled this one very well also. Definitely one of my favorite drivers.

This is why I hate Truex he is such a Hypocrite he would have ripped Elliott if he made that move. Truex will throw a tantrum because of a bump and run at Martinsville on the last lap then will dive it into turn 1 and take out himself and the leader and then he’ll say “oh it’s just a racing deal”

Racing for the lead, I don't care who you are nobody is just going to let ya have it especially if they have the high line in 1 & 2 and think they may be able to carry momentum down the back stretch. Chase doesn't owe it to Truex just to let him by because he's got the position going into 1...

When contact was made Truex still had his left sides below the white line and Chase had 2 car widths on his outside. Not sure if I can put all the blame on the 19

Truex made the... slide job too soon, too many laps left to craw to the finish line if anything goes wrong.
Chase could have lifted a bit and Truex would have gone to the walll alone. 2nd place would fit nice.

James Burns “Classeless”. It was an uncharacteristic mistake by Truex, he’s one of the cleanest drivers on the track right now and he made a mistake. I guess Elliott is ‘classless’ for Bristol then.

Chase could easily have 5 to 7 wins this year. 2 at Darlington 1 at Vegas maybe Homestead if Joey L. races like a lapped car and the 600. The thing that gets me is if he's not beating himself it's a Nascar champion wrecking him. Kudos to Kevin Harvick. He truly drives like a champion and rarely makes a mistake.
Would be amazing if chase could keep that paint scheme forever.
