It's amazing how Rob can make all guitars sound exactly the same
TALENT
Yea why is that ?? I don't know why but I just can't get past the fact he is a complete douche bag
You meant amazingly dull right?
Proof that tone is in the fingers!
“The most exciting thing we can do nowadays is make a strat with a PRS headstock...” hahahhaha
BittenEdges ES Les Paul is the sweetest design to me.
David Morisset that’s cool mate I’m a huge Les Paul fan never tried an ES, get some cool feedback type stuff with it?
BittenEdges I’m into blues and rock not high gain. But I’m sure it could be compelled
David Morisset Brilliant, I’ll try one some time!
les pauls can do any genre well and not look out of place either though it depends on the pickups and amp more than anything check out agile guitars they got some well priced neck threw les pauls and one with a legit floyd rose for under 400 can't beat that
Joe Naylor is an amazing guy and one of my favorite people in the guitar industry. Reverend is an incredible company that produces KILLER guitars for working musician budgets.
I'm a huge fan of Reverend guitars - they are so versatile that I'm selling my Fenders.
Rob comes off as a jerk in this video. Almost like he is looking for fault in the brand. I think Reverend does a great job.
Well he can't possibly endorse a guitar that's as good as his company makes for less money now can he?
+Steven Chabot well he speaks very highly of squire vintage modified does he not
I think Chappers sees Reverend as a competitor to his own line of guitars.
I could tolerate his miserable attempts on being funny when he was non-biased, but in this vid he is a giant douche bag.
So if Rob likes a guitar he is a sell out that is just trying to sell guitars, but if he points out the stupid fake F hole he's a jerk for being honest. How many of you are going to buy that guitar? No one because it silly looking.
Not their best effort on this vid. Rob seemed irked and Lee was caught a bit off-guard by it and trying to steer things back to the positive. Came across like neither was really feeling these guitars, which is a shame. As an owner of a Reverend Double Agent I can tell you I play it more than I do my PRS Custom 22, my Gibson SG, and my Strat. It's a really fun and unique guitar that feels great in the hand (and it looks cool as well). Definitely check out Reverend!
Sorry Rob, but that's not Nashville tuning.
Nashville is still standard E tuning but the lowest four strings are super light gauge and tuned up an octave while the highest, B and E, are still normal gauge and octave.
At this point, with Rob having built his guitar brand to it's current level, it's hard to imagine his reviews of other brands have any real objectivity.
Rob's just jealous because Reverend actually has somewhat original looks and interesting twists like the rail-hammer pickups and the bass knob, while Chapmans are just rehashing other brands with fancy paint jobs.
That tuning is not called Nashville tuning though.. Nashville tuning is all the strings you'd add to a 12 string guitar. So the lowest 4 strings are up one octave. Perfect for doubling in the studio!
Exactly. Kinda bugged me too. This is how misinformation starts, now this is said, some joker on Wikipedia will now cite this as nashville tuning, which it bloody isn't
Jack Beale For real.
I had to search it up myself, and got a totally different result than what Chapman said. Not hating on him, for I still think he's cool.
You beat me to it! No hate from me either. He likely knows better and got mixed up. Jet lag will do that to you.
Dissonant Timbres That's actually a good question.
Jack Beale. Wrong allow me to show you what Wikipedia already has written Nashville tuning which is correct by the way. Read it and reap.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashville_tuning_(high_strung)
I can appreciate jet lag, but don’t roll the camera if you’re not ready to do your job. Rob is acting like a child. Sorry it’s not a Chapman
Yeah it felt off. Amazing guitars and it doesn't even seem like he was trying to be respectful of Cap. Cap actually seems visually annoyed this episode, but hiding it well. The lack of jams longer than 20 seconds, never mind that they all ended in some Rob ego-solo, speaks volumes of the lack of connection between the two. As Cap said, Rob is flying in jet-lagged and weird, and for him it's a Monday. Low key, but effective.
That guy on the left is acting like he's on class A drugs. He is really annoying.
Reverend guitars are great guitars at any price point but at the price point they go for they are a phenomenal deal.
Such a minor thing but I really like Reverend's take on the modern string tree. Looks classy & no chance of string binding up, well done.
Thank you Pete for saving this video.
Damn, this episode took a majorly unprofessional turn.
I'm glad Lee decided to close it up soon after the debacle was starting to really get unsavory.
So at the start of April before my bands first EU tour, my amp died.
With this, my wonderful other half allowed me to grab a new amp (an EVH 5150 50w) and a new guitar.
My Reverend Sensei is the most incredible guitar I have ever played! I've been so inspired by it and it's reignited my passion for songwriting again! Absolutely love it so much!
Man I would buy these over a Chapman any day. God forbid a brand do something cool and original
I prefer Reverend it may just be my opinion, I own a Buckshot, and a Sensei RA, and they are killer guitars. I recently bought a couple Ernie Ball Music Man guitars though, and they have the best neck I have ever played though, and I just have to let everyone know how great they are, but Reverend is a close second.
William Olsen what EBMM did you buy mate? I’m very tempted. I love my guitars and am fortunate to have the usual suspects (plus an awesome Suhr telebird and Patrick Eggle’s Macon- check him out ). But a JP15 makes me salivate.
I acquired a StingRay, and I loved it so much I then bought a Cutlass. I have never felt at home on a neck like on a EBMM, so I am sold on these. I will admit the Cutlass is it's own beast so don't go thinking it will replace a strat, but it still sounds and plays great, but the subtle differences are there and I can tell the difference, but I have both, and I like them for different reasons tonally. Maybe a Suhr someday.
William Olsen sounds like I should check them out. I’m interested in something different. I wanted to like the Duesenberg Paloma but didn’t gel with it. I’ve heard nothing but good things about ebmm
I think they play really well, it has a compensated nut, and nice stainless steel frets which I think makes the neck more comfortable. The trem on them is very smooth too, and stays in tune very well, and they obviously have locking tuners. Considering the care they put into the guitar the price is not that outrageous. I lucked out and found them used, but they were brand new as far as I am concerned.
Picked up a Billy Corgan model one day, and I have never been able to bring myself to put it down since.
I've enjoyed Fender and Gibson; I still think they're great brands. For whatever reason, I found 'the one' in my Reverend.
If you're on the search for your soulmate guitar and you've looked in all the usual places, check out Reverend.
Side note: I emailed Reverend once with a question about rosewood, and who replied? Ken bloody Haas. That's like emailing PRS and having Paul get back to you.
41DegreesSouth how much dthey pay you to stay this stuff mate 😉
that's awesome!
"and I have never been able to bring myself to put it down since. " And if only you'd paid for it you wouldn't be sitting in that gaol right now ...
Zilegil clearly more than you pay your copy editor ;)
Dude, play one and you will understand. They are different beasts and mine is always out and ready to play.
I own a Reverend. The railhammer pickups are great, the bass contour is great, the neck is great, the tuners are great. If I could choose again I would have got a model with the wilkinson trem and a maple fingerboard. I'd love if they would do a guitar with a 24 fret neck too, Super strat type, in Lefty!
evinoc leftiess!
You should call reverend's customer support. I did, asking if there was a roasted maple neck on the flamed orange double agent og 25th anniversary model like there is on the blue coloured one. There isn't, but firstly the dude at reverend put me through to the closest distributor to me (merchant city music in glasgow) and also contacted me a few days later and said they had a blue one at their factory and they would be happy to take the neck off it and put it on the orange body for me and ship it on their next order to the store, without me asking for this. They are such nice people. It might be worth giving them a ring and ya might just get your guitar :)
LEFTIES FOREVERRRR
Wow. Normally like Andertons, but...
1) Reverend kick Chapmans’ guitars asses, thus the Chapitude.
2) Missed the point of the Terz. Secret weapon. Stack it with a standard tuned guitar. Scalegivesyou better intonation resulting in fat clean tones.
3) Totally glossed over the best electric gig ready 12 on the market, The Airwave
4) Seem to miss the fact that Reverend are the only manufacturer I know of that make a line that affordable, gig ready, AND regularly take design chance to push the instrument forward.
@Dean Massalsky
i can afford a chapman guitar easily. the reverend guitars are substantially higher. i played a couple of chapman guitars, and i did like them. i have not played a reverend, but since they are over twice the price i would have paid for a chapman, i would expect them to be "better"
just sayin'
mojo something Totally valid point. I thought Chapman had several stratifications of their models though? In this review, they (Rob more-so) seemed stuck on a couple things, and missed a chance to dig deeper. I’m sure after doing all the reviews they do it wears down at some point, but the Terz and the Airwave are worth more than passing look. Anyway, just my opinion, which are some are on the intertubes :)
Rob is getting a bit of a beating in the comments for this (including from me, quite frankly), but The Captain called the Airwave the "Air 12.," and that's not exactly doing his due diligence either. I mean, he DOES sell them, correct, lol? Heck, it's even written "Air 12" in the gear descripton. I actually went to the Reverend web site to see if I had missed a new guitar coming out.
I have both a Chapman and a Reverend. Both great guitars but the Reverend is a beauty and easily my favourite.
@@mojobonbon the most expensive Reverend is about $1699. On average, their guitars can be had in the same range as a Chapman guitar with better quality control. Unless you’re PRS, being a small time guy like Chappers or Ola Englund just can’t afford the same caliber of overseas quality.
First time I’ve ever downvoted Andertons. The Captain works hard to balance the banter to a neutral field and doesn’t get enough credit for his work.
I was very close to down voting this one, also, something I've not done either. I didn't, only because I do like the Airsonic and Airwave (played them both), and didn't want to seem as though I had something against the guitars, lol.
It’s gotten to the point where I only watch videos with Rob to see what he doesn’t like, because that means I will LOVE it. I would buy a Reverend over a Chapman every day of the week. What a gross, bitter man.
I bought my Terz from Andertons and just realized this is my exact guitar. Rob shows the number when looking at the signature at 18 minutes and I just checked my guitar number. It’s the same. Neat!!
Hi Guys! I think you both missed a couple of important points on the Reverend guitars. My son and I each own one. My son has a Sensei and I have a Double Agent OG. First, the build quality on these guitars is excellent. We bought ours at Wildwood as we are lucky enough to live nearby those cool cats! My son was looking at an SG... and while each guitar sounded great and very different from each other, the Reverend was nearly half the price and was far better made! Second, the bass roll off control is very useful. If you have a bass heavy amp like a Hot Rod Deluxe or if you are on the neck pickup, you can use the control to clean up any woofiness and cut through a lot better. Even more importantly, for those who use fuzz, being able to control the amount of bass hitting a fuzz circuit can drastically alter the response and it's a hell of lot more convenient than using an eq pedal in front. No disrespect, but let Pete have one for a couple of weeks and then have him do a video. I do wish they offered a smaller / rounder fret board radius, but that is my only wish. All the best.
Neal F. Great review - sounds like those guitars hit the spot!
Typical Rob. Putting his thing into a guitar designed for a different purpose and wondering why it doesn't work. Oy
This video shows how hard it is to play well on a quite clean guitar when one is used to hot pickups/heavy distortion/Metal...
Morning guys I always love look forward to your show and shows it is what made me start playing at 50 😳. it might be me but this show was a little different in the smooth flow of past ones. I’m not pointing fingers Rob, 360 feed back for bad cop.
It indeed was a weird vibe. I think it would've been nice if the Guitar Paradiso guys had reviewed these. Heck, those guys basically played me into buying my Reverend two years ago, without me even playing it (and I've not for one day regretted it) and really have a great chemistry, no matter which pair is playing. The usual Captain and Chappers chemistry is sorely lacking here.
I own a Reverend Reeves Gabrels Spacehawk, and it's by far the best value guitar I have ever come across. It sounds like it might as well cost three times as much, and the build quality (and quality control) is on par with American Fenders or even better. Makes you wonder why certain brands in the same price range can't get their QC right... I'm looking at you, Rob!
The Don DeLuxe, I have the prototype Spacehawk in the pewter color. I think they only made six or eight in that color. It's an absolutely great playing and sounding guitar! I'll never part with it.
Zoltan Von Somogyi Nice! Like that finish a lot. I have the Metallic Red Burst, and I'm super impressed by the quality of the paint job. Really stunning stuff!
Really dig Reverend Guitars and basses! Thanks for the video!!
Just bought a Sensei RA yesterday. Absolutely amazing.
I like Reverend guitars, they have some lovely looking models and great colours too. My only criticism is that they have such a huge range that we don't get to see all of them in person here in the UK. I think Andertons (and others) can order them in but it's not as easy as picking one off the rack and giving it a go. Their purple Sensei is gorgeous.
Think they want Joe Naylor reviewing Chapman guitars? Anderton's unbiased reviews? Yeah right....
How about we see Chapman innovate something, you know, rather than making tweaked facsimiles of existing well known guitars, and outsourcing the builds. And as for affordable... £400-£1200, that's the same range as most other guitar companies. Why would I pay £1200 for a Korean Strat copy when I could buy a Fender? What's next? Custom shop Chapmans for £2.5k???
Chapman: "I have a great idea!"
Although one of the Chapman designs is a single cut guitar with 25 inch scale and neck thru body. No one else is making a guitar like that.
more Rabea...less rob...
I own a Reverend Baritone (the Descent) and it's amazing! I played close to 8 different baritones before choosing the Reverend. Their bass roll off tone control makes it super versatile. The overall setup right out of the box was fantastic. Great build quality overall. I've become a huge fan of Reverend guitars in the last year.
Glad to see these two guys are back!!!
Is Rob playing through that amp he thinks sounds solid state and in no way could be valves.
JimijaymesGuitarist which amp is that ?
Anti Depression evh 5150 III, in the blind amp vs pedal Shootout rob didn't think it was valve at all
best quote ever ! "strat with prs headstock " so true Captain Lee !
Tone is nice and clear - psyched about that Airsonic.... would love to have one of everything Reverend makes including basses...
The dirtbike model in metallic purple looks stunning. I've since researched the whole Reverend range and I'm really interested in this company and what they do. Thanks Andertons for bringing them to my attention. Strong contenders for the next guitar purchase!
Much prefer Pete for the reviews. More versatile playing and tone.
A bit of chorus … well it was drowning in chorus. Not really suitable for judging the tone of the guitar :/
Covers up the fact that they're both mediocre players
Lol, i suppose you can play better than rob? Too bad theres 0 videos of your great talent on your channel
Bas Kroon did I say I could play better than him? I simply stated they are mediocre guitarists
KeyboardMaestro I think Joss and Rabea are much better guitarists and are more interesting to watch than Rob and Lee. But that's just my opinion
Yo chill out peeps. I don't care if they are mediocre or amazing guitar players. If they demo a guitar I'd appreciate a great recording setup, the amps that were used being mentioned and a guitar tone that is not covered in chorus. That is all. So stop the bash!
I like how reverend guitars does his own thing, loving the Hollow one with maple fretboard. Also 22:51 Danish pete rocking out the F hole
Why would you use loads of chorus on a guitar demo???
I don't understand why I love these guitars
Matt Horner cause they traditional but innovative
Even in something as simple as the headstock. There are so many alternate takes on the strat headstock, but I feel Reverend really nailed it. Different but familiar and interesting all at the same time.
My old band had two songs capoed at the 4th fret (tuned down a 1/2 step). Sounds like the Terz was designed for us, lol.
Cool as funk guitars with echoes of wacky 60's Japanese space-age dreck sticks that had vibe forever. The Reverend build quality is great, the looks are familiar and funky and the bass roll-off control is a secret gain weapon of destruction.
I have a Reverend Buckshot, and a Sensei, and they are great guitars. They are my second favorite guitars, Ernie Ball Music Man's are my favorite though.
Chapo dropping the hammer on the competition.
Rob plays some of the most unfitting licks over Cap
He actually started to play a nice melodic solo on the Terz, but quickly squashed that. Too bad.
Good god, the tension in that room, Lee is thinking "Rob, for fucks sake, I am trying to sell these guitars...!?!"...
I was GASing for an SG a while ago. Wound up buying two Reverend Sensei models and couldn't be happier.
Cullen James should have bought a revstar instead.
@xWILZTAx You may prefer a Revstar, but, having played them both, I prefer the Sensei. Also, the Sensei, at least the model I bought, comes with an ebony fretboard which I much prefer to rosewood, and block inlays which I prefer over dots. I haven't played the Revstar with P-90s, and I admit that's a tempting guitar.
It is weird because I was debating between a Sensei, and an SG as well, and I bought a Sensei RA, and it is fantastic, purple burst, with an ebony finger board. I fricking love it.
@Cullen James
congrats! glad you like it. i got my SG a few months ago, and i dig the classic '57 tones :)
(yes, i know he got the reverend...it's not a competition)
I bought a Gibson Les Paul, and you are correct you really cannot get that classic Gibson sound out of a Reverend, but I have to say the fret work on the Reverend is just as good if not better for a way cheaper price.
Seeing the new guit-fiddles = awesome
Seeing Lee pwn Rob regarding guitar design decisions = hilariously priceless...
I think the magnetic pull thing Is so minimal you would never tell. However when there is a single pickup there is less wood used up because there is no additional cavity so there is more resonance.
G to G is alto standard, not Nashville.
Wished I hadn't watched this, Robs jetlag is affecting his ability to be objective. Shredding on a Corgan and then complaining about the heal joint was just infantile when that is obviously not the guitars purpose. I'm not even a fan of Reverends, but geez, that was horrible. Let Rob sleep or don't do any more videos while he's jetlagged, they won't go well as shown.
and I want to also say, that was NOT to disrespect Rob, he's had his candles burning at both ends for a long time, and I think it's really hurting him, physically and mentally.. you can only stretch yourself so long and so thin, until you have a meltdown.. I think he's an amazing musician and seems like a pretty awesome individual. He seemed genuinely ticked off when Lee did that phone bit. That's uncharacteristic of Rob, he can usually deliver and receive jokes very well.
I thought they both acted like idiots in this video especially Rob
I wouldn't say idiots, but I certainly wasn't feeling like they were very unbiased opinions. What do you expect from a pair that brand their own design guitars? Should Paul Reed Smith sit there and review Gibson and Fenders? If the critique is unfavorable, you'll always look like your biased to your own brand. However, shouldn't you be perhaps since you sell guitars with your name on them? Once you have a vested interest in your own brand, should you really be reviewing guitars for the general public any more? Just a thought.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW
That guy on the left is acting like he's on class A drugs. He is really annoying.
Love my Reverend Charger 290 Gold Top which I've had for years. Just a sweet machine.
Chemistry going out the window lately, Rob isn’t happy about something. It all looks a bit uncomfortable. Too much nitpicking...
Grew up a few houses down from the designer Joe Naylor glad to see his guitars are still going strong
I got the getstream 390 guys. I like it as good as any fender ,prs, les Paul or anything. Great quality. Unique, different. Locking tuners, pickups are great, bass contour nob , roasted maple neck. Tremolo bar is top quality. I highly recommend trying one out. You’ll see what I mean.
Two words. ´Reeves Gabrels! A friend Dave Gwynn plays an older REVguitar here in Madrid.. His tone is amazing... Busiest sesión man in town . He gave me a spin once. Awesome...
What other guitar company will afford mid priced and affordable instruments for 90% of players: all standard: 1, Korina (African Limba (sustainable wood) body 2, Roasted Maple necks (standard) 3, Locking pin machines (standard) 4, Chambered out horns, 5, Wilkinson trem (where available) 6, Top end Railhammer P90 single coil, humbucker pups amongst others 7, 10% poly caps 8, Dozens of models available including lefties? This is in no way a complete list.
It is nice to read their spec sheet and they take pride in every pot, nut etc. they use. More brands should really do that.......How many Gibsons have rubbish pots.........
I LOVE the design of that Airsonic.
21:42 Chappers not happy
Caps face at 22:23 says everything about how he felt that video went...
Rob Chapman “ Guitars not dead, these guitars suck, buy mine!” 😂
I have zero hands on experience with Reverends since no one local carries them unfortunately. From what Ive seen though, they look pretty cool. The double agent is the most visually appealing to me.
It might have some quirks but it seems to produce a really hearty warm tone, especially that Dirtbike. I'm not entire sure whether to credit the body construction or the Railhammer humbucker design. I also think it's cool that this brand seems to be offer guitars using different pickup combinations - Railhammers, P-90s, straight single-coil, etc.
It seems strange for Rob sale's pitch to include so much criticism given his buddy Lee is trying to sell these instruments in his store.
I love how much these guys make each other laugh, its contagious af
These guitar sound incredible!
I have not disliked a video in a long time, but Rob, it just seems you are looking for anything that doesnt suit you instead of focusing on what might work for others.
I thought these were pretty good and I like what Reverend is doing overall.
It would be something else if you were pointing out real flaws that would matter to anyone like finish quality, bad frets, poor sound, etc..
So Rob is only permitted to like every product they demo? I guess you don’t want an honest review. They should just play and talk about how great every product in the world is.
Cody Davis If you read what I put down that would help. Its one thing to find real flaws that we should know about. Its another thing when you are just trying to make an issue out of something thats not. I never said every product review should be complete praise. You could just see the reluctance Rob had to like these guitars. I dont see that when he talks about his stuff of course.
Rob's not required to love everything, but if they're going to do reviews, Rob could, at the least, learn a little bit about what he's reviewing. I like "out of the box" reviews as much as the next guy, but the F holes on the Airsonic are clearly explained on just about everything Reverend puts out about them, and it'd take either him or the Captain (who clearly didn't know what they were for either) about 20 seconds to read up about 'em. Call 'em ugly after, if you'd like, but at least know a little about them.
How on earth can Rob objectively, with any credibility, review a competitor's guitar? I find it confusing and biased.
He can't and it is.
Right? And even if The Captain has an equity stake in the guitar company, he at least must be objective and appears to be to sell all his wares.
It is kind of interesting to see how people are ragging on rob for not liking a guitar. In the past the rag has been for him liking everything and not having anything bad to say....
Good point. I'm not ragging on him. At least, let me clarify, his reviews are entertaining and he seems like a great person. My point is separate and albeit academic regarding conflict of interest. But I see what you mean, would I claim the same if his comments were glowing, positive.
Since Andertons is a shop and their business is to sell guitars I never really take their reviews seriously. I watch them for a overview of new products and to enjoy some banter between the presenters. I don't think chappers or the captain would ever do a proper critical review.
reverend makes some really cool stuff, like the volcano V or the descent baritone (which I love). plus they come with railhammer pickups which are a pretty underrated brand. I like the chisel bridge a lot.
Naylors humbuckers & RevTrons are great too.
Rob is such a bag of salt anymore. Maybe it's conflict of interesting but gets tiresome to see him take explicit and not so explicit swipes at guitars not named Chapman
I have a Reverend Double Agent OG and love it. They do make quite nice guitars for the price. I enjoyed the video. But one of the reasons I watched was to hear opinions on the Blackwood Tek fingerboard on the Dirt Bike. I believe Reverend has gone exclusively to Blackwood from Rosewood and I'm looking at a couple of guitars, same model, one recent with Blackwood, one I believe from last year with Rosewood, and would like some opinions. Any thoughts guys?
That intro jam is the most beautiful jam I ever heard from Rob and Lee.
So, Rob found 2 things that he didn't like (I disagree with him about the "f" holes, but agree regarding the heel joint), but liked pretty well everything else about these guitars and he's supposedly nitpicking and being a jerk. Or, at least, that's the way the comments seem to indicate. Of course, if everything he says is rosy and positive then he has no real opinions. Regarding the guitars, I like what I've seen of Reverend, and the ones I've tried certainly had a unique feel to them. Perhaps I'll find one yet that I feel the need to own.
he did say he liked them. then he made fun of some stuff. he did seem a little different here, but i wouldn't go so far as to say i thought he was a jerk
*Says Reverend is the most original guitar company... calls their most creative guitar the world's most expensive guitar capo*
I love the purple, those fiddles look really good. I'm checking if they do a bass ASAP
Yeah Lee, I totally hear the sound of the guitar when you not only have a chorus on but also wabble the trem. Good idea!
Reverend took a while to grow on me, but now I love them. I really appreciate that they don't just recycle the Les Paul, Strat, Tele body shapes.
The "passive treble and bass" controls have been on G&L guitars for decades.
Pete Anderson has two models with this brand and I really trust his judgment. I also LOVED the 12 string. Modern and traditional in some strange sense.
Unknown Hinson plays one of these I believe
nemtall he does! I have one of those guitars and it sounds fantastic. It’s the only reverend I’ve ever played, but it makes me suspect that their other instruments are pretty great, too.
Even has his own signature model ... with bats.
loving that 12 string, it's a beauty too. Can you guys do a take on multiscale fret guitars if you already haven't. They sound great with drop tuning
That episode where Rob admits he has a "small soft spot".
Rob has got a lot less humble over the last few years. Shame.
Hence the 5 million record sales comment, lol
Ali Downes He just wants to sell Chapman guitars
Ali Downes he's In the most famous band ever ! Of course he is not humble......I can't think of their name right off. But with deep songs like catalyst that go " catalyst......yes catalyst "
The old USA made reverends are where it's at, those are the coolest!!
@mike s
finally, something i can agree with!
Those coffee mug edits get me every damn time, hahahaha
Reverend guitars are really something else, I really dig them. Been debating with myself lately if I should buy a Reverend (a Jetstream 390 or a Double Agent) or a Fender Telecaster. I chose the latter, but the next one will be a Reverend for sure.
Not sure I love the thru f holes, but everything else about that guitar is great. Rob is just being daft.
I don't like that they look too slim to use them as a 'monkey grip'! But I love that companies are taking risks and doing something different.
do you normally hold a guitar by the f holes?
They’re chambered sides with an f-hole running through as a bit of a semi-functional design lark. It’s another example of Rob criticizing work he can’t be bothered to read up on. “Let me just plow through 10 videos unprepared, so I can just collect a check and move along.”
I’m laughing that Rob made a comment on the signiture guitar that it wasn’t designed for shredding but that he was going to anyway and then also tried to shred on the 12 string. I have steam coming out of my ears on the twelve string moment man. I get if it’s not how you would want to play a guitar but isn’t the point of the video to showcase what a guitar can really do? Why are you bottlenecking a guitar’s qualities by trying to make everything suit your niche desire? I was excited to watch this video and see “innovative new designs” but I feel like I really didn’t get a grasp of what these guitars are about. Props to Lee for trying though
Still looking for an original US built Revered with the sandblasted island finish.
Hah! Good luck. You'd have a better chance of the owners parting with their own children, lol! ;)
I wonder what Chappers would have made of the Fender Billy Corgan Strat when it came out back in 2010/2011
Most Revs are signed by Zach Green, Revs Super Tech.
Ampeg's AEB1 bass had F holes that went all the way through. They came out in 1966. Rick Danko of Tha Band was known to play a fretless one.
that Dirt Bank has one balz sound! The gutarsare refreshing. They have their own look and sound without just getting weird. It would be reality easy with their very large line not to find a guitar that could not complement your style yet gives you tone that rivals all the Gibso and Fender like choices we are all using now. Add to that great fit. build and finish for a reasonable price.
THE COFFEE AT 1:34, YOURE AMAZING MR EDITOR MAN
The F holes do provide a slight weight relief in addition to the aesthetics, nay?
Not sure if the pickup switch is supposed to be upside down or not. The only other guitar I'm aware of that has the same setup is EVH guitars.
always waiting for dem coffee mugs to vanish or do something stupid haha the best!!
I would like to see something on the Jenn Wasner signature Reverend. She's an artist that really inspires me. I love Wye Oak and she does some cool bass and guitar stuff. A Captain Meets perhaps when they come through jolly old England?
