I’ve only played the one I own, a 25th anniversary Double Agent with Railhammer in Bridge, and a friends Sensei. Both are just amazing but I know the double agent a little better. The quality and parts at this price point is just amazing. It’s a guitar I come back to after a new acquisition and say to myself, damn why I don’t I play this thing all the time?!!
I own three Reverends, including my 5-string bass. I've got pricey Fenders and about a dozen other guitars in my collection, and the Reverends are among the very best in terms of tone. They are fantastic. My jaw still drops when I play my Airsonic, and I assure you it's not because I'm an amazing player. If Sweetwater and Reverend both maintain their excellence, they will remain a match made in heaven.
It's funny you mention the tone. I have quite a few guitars (Gibsons, PRS's, Fenders, Charvel, Danelectro etc) and I tell people my Jetstream P90 has the most musical tones of any guitar I own.
This is the best interview I have ever seen Ken do on Reverend and covering their history. I love the guitars and think they are a great value - just getting better all the time. They were in the right place at the right time with the right selection of instruments to execute. Joe Naylor is one of the visionaries in the industry.
I got a Sensei couple of years back knowing absolutely nothing about Reverend. Just want to say, I'm so happy with it, love it to death, love playing it and use it to play anything and everything. Cheers from Australia, Joey.
I love Reverend. Great, modern designs. Any guitar you pull off the wall will play great. Incredible quality control. They are as well made as any other brand. Amazing customer service. just a great American company.
Holy cow! This is a great move for both companies - after 45 years of playing I have Gibsons, Fenders, PRS's, Martins... and a Reverend Guitars Greg Koch Signature Gristle 90. The Reverend is a fantastic instrument that has become my daily go-to. Quality is top-notch, playability can't be beat, and the versatility is what you'd expect from a Greg Koch signature guitar.
Same thing here. I’ve been playing 45 years almost always the big names. I have a Greg Koch model as well and I love it. I find this design superior. It feels right to me and the pickups are awesome.
Bought my first (but hopefully not my last!) Reverend directly from Ken at Supernova '23 after eyeing it for three days straight (Ken, it was the Venetian Pearl Buckshot). I knew it would rule, seeing how MANY players that weekend were rocking different Reverend models (Kristin Forbes/Lady Hatchett and Rob George (Hub City Stompers)), including some I've loved forever that I didn't know were playing Revs (esp. Bucket from the Toasters.) That Buckshot is the nicest guitar I have every played, and has every tone under the hood I could ever ask for, and its an absolute JOY to play. Ken is the man, and it sounds like Joe Naylor is too! Keep up the good work! (I'm just waiting for a good performance shot with it to replace my RUclips avatar with... that one has my mid-90s Gibson LP Standard that has been completely dethroned!)
This is great news. Everything about these two companies is getting the customer what they want and will enjoy using. I have a current order due to arrive soon from Sweetwater. I have been and continue to play Telecaster style guitars. For Years I purchased and orbited through many types of instruments, Pauls, PRSs. Strats, et cetera. But finally I figured out that 'MY' instrument is a tele with humbuckers and a maple neck. (Be thinking Tim Lerch or Ted Greene) Then, I got turned on to Gregory Kochery thru the hilarious Wildwood videos. I had always wanted a Wildwood guitar. And I had always wanted a Korina body instrument. So I ordered up a Blucifer Gristlemaster in Korina with a Roasted Maple neck. Wildwood set me up a beaut, and shipped it out. This Reverend Guitar is simply amazing. Hungry for a bit of technical info, I rang RG to ask my questions and Ken Haas answered the phone. What a delightful human being. We gabbed for 35-40 minutes, he answered all my questions, he got a happy customer and I got a new friend. Many thanks to both Sweetwater and Reverend Guitars for taking this step together.
I agree with the two of you. Same as you I have either owned or played a lot of guitar brands. As usual I was looking for a T-Style. I usually go with the standard brands in the United States. My local store had a GristleMaster and once I picked it up it felt right. It has the traditional features that I want and some cool changes. It sounds awesome and very versatile with the boost built in. They did a great job with these and Reverend in general puts out an excellent product. Sorry for rambling.
I've owned about 20 Reverends over the years and every single one has been fantastic! I also have some high end American made guitars and the Reverends play and sound as good (sometimes better). I think their pickup are second to none. So glad Sweetwater is now offering them. Might need to pick something new up :)
My Reverend Manta Ray is so versatile, comfortable, and beautiful! I love everything about it! I'm excited that Sweetwater is now carrying Reverend guitars! Two great companies!!

I love Reverend Guitars. I have a 2019 Kyle Shutt signature in white!! Love it!!!
Yessiree I have the Root Beer Sparkle Mike Watt Bass! A beautiful little Monster. Pickups are excellent. Craftsmanship perfection. Fun to look at and play. Next is that purple baritone.
hi ,,,having owned a few reverends and always liked sweetwater/ for me i'm in a weekend rock band> reverend guitars have all the the upgrades i would always have to do..locking tuners, bass roll-off ,, nut,,,and at a great price,,,,,i have many other brands but i;m glad i found them,, and i've always been a big fan of Sweetwater.... thank you
Funny, what yer saying about swapping out reverend pickups. I have 3 Reverends, a limited run early Flatroc, a Gil Parris signature and a Jetstream, I love em and just bought a forth one, a used Charger 290. It had the factory p90's replace with very expensive Dimarzio PG13 mini hums. I currently looking for factory Pickups to put back into it. 👍
What the Heck took so long to join the Sweetwater family? Reverend Guitars are fantastic. Had a Jetstream 390 in Rock Orange & I regret it that I had to sell it for medical bills. Ugh! Love the Double Agent & the Dirtbike too.
I hope they can keep the prices low 'cause the latest signatures aint for us average weekend warriors Ken was talking about in the beginning of this interview. And yeah I have a Reverend Bob Balch......Great guitar.
I had a reverend that couldn't find serial number anywhere played like butter best guitar ever it was like a sixgun but three pick ups had to sale because pandemic didn't get nothing for it maybe groceries for couple day s totally regret getting rid of it can't wait til I can afford to buy another one
Hi and thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. My local music store had a deal with Reverend a while back and they had the hardest time selling those guitars. Just such an odd guitar brand and not much to look at. Now they have a deal with Kramer, and I can only imagine it will go the same way.
@@SlapMyBass3825 Th models are not too out there, the ones I see hardest to sell at Guitar places are some of the Ibanez Guitars or Jackson models that are in the modern slant flying V styles with the flat fretboard.
We couldn't be more excited to welcome Reverend Guitars to the Sweetwater family! Which one is your favorite?
Six Gun HPP or Jetstream 390!
Was gonna buy one of those from a different retailer soon but now I'm definitely buying from Sweetwater!

Ordered a Contender HB shortly after the pandemic began - couldn't be happier with it!
The war hawk looks and sounds amazing!!!
I own Double Agent W and soon will be adding the Charger 290 and a P Bass.
I just bought my first Reverend Double Agent. Love hearing the story.

“They’re for us.”
Best possible answer.
they are for worship leaders in churches..
@@Ubi-o Reverends can’t afford a Reverend, tbh

I’m beyond stoked for this partnership. My Sweetwater card is less so LOL
I haven't had my thinking about guitars foundationally changed in a long time. I played one of these today (Buckshot). Blown away! 15:45 15:47
Just got my first Reverend. Might be my most favorite guitar yet

Great interview! I love my Reverend Flatroc, really unique pickup tone and a satin neck with that lush feel. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
Back in Reverend's early years they sold their overstock parts. I got a set of their "strat" pickups for $35 😊. Sound great and still use them.
Yessiree I have the Root Beer Sparkle Mike Watt Bass! A beautiful little Monster. Pickups are excellent. Craftsmanship perfection. Fun to look at and play. Next is that purple baritone.
Love my Airwave 12 string. Will look at another Reverend now that they are at Sweetwater!

I like that the signature guitar is as the player sets up. I suppose most signature guitars then are more Signature-ish.
Yes, though some are direct copies of a guitar model that a person modified or had modified for their needs.
I visited the store today and said hi to Greg Koch. Hopefully by saying that I didn't spoil your next video...😉
