Hey John, love your playing and introducing new instruments.... It is so much fun and joy to listen to you playing AND talking. So, thank you so much... Greetings from Germany, Jochen
There he is! The man we've missed! so happy to come home and log on to Mr Bohlinger with a beautiful Custom!! Somebody beat me to the punch but happy to see two of my favourites together - Even if it's Jason Isbell in spirit!
Honestly when I first got a Tele I only played on the bridge. Mostly country shit but in the last year or so I've been hooked on the neck pick up on my Tele. Mine is very stratty and quite capable of a bunch of Hendrix stuff.
I've got a killer Custom Shop '63 in Dakota Red and yet I still really want this guitar. Looks and sounds fantastic. As always, fantastic pickin' by John.
John I have always loved your playing. You can float through styles and your reviews and interviews are always interesting and informative. That guitar looks and sounds phenomenal.
JB love the demo! Nice sounding guitar. I really wish fender would do a whole line like that guitar out of Mexico with the nitro, or acrylic lacquer in the 60s custom colors.
I just ordered one. It would be my first Tele. Reasons why I chose this: the custom pickups. Most other Teles I saw on the site had pickups I can buy and put in this. But I don’t see where I can buy a non-artist based Tele and put these Tim Shaw ones on. Yes, I’m sure there are pickups that are like the ones in the JICT. The truss rod adjustment placement, the nitro finish and smooth neck. I don’t mind 7.25 radius, I’m not going to play metal on this. Can’t wait for it to arrive!
I was goofing around playing The Wind Cries Mary on a used Marshall at Guitar Center in Nashville and he just walks by in Canadian tuxedo and says, "I'm lovin' that Hendrix, man!". I was a bit starstruck. I acknowledged who he was and told him what a big fan I was. He made my year.
“I’ve got the fat switch on cause I love that damn thing!” Gotta have the fat switch on when playing a Blues Jr. Aside from that awesome quote and playing from John can we also appreciate his awesome pimp shirt he’s wearing!
Sir....!!!...2 things if I may???.....#1...watched you for years on Rig Rundown, never knew who you are....but you seem like a good dude and now, over few years, have learned you have incredible chops...#2....thank god you gave up the hair dye....mad respect for both...lol.....are you otherwise a famous player?
Shame me if you will… I have heard of Jason Isbell but don’t know his music. However, I do know John’s videos and this one is great. Great to see him play and not just interview (which is also cool!) This is a cool axe, and I love how much the neck sounds like a strat. Great combination! Thanks for the review!!!
Fantastic song writer closeted guitar slinger. (I don’t think he wants the guitar guy image.) But really as good a player as songwriter, worth checking out for sure.
I feel like I haven't seen one of these in forever. Been missing John and our first look videos. Let's start getting loud again. Maybe youtube just hasn't been showing me these videos anymore.
Slotted Klusons are great! I really can't understand why all tuners are slotted. Nice Tele, at a sane price. Aren't the sides of the bridge plate trimmed down too? A subtle, practical tweak to the original design.
So, I really want to get a tele...and I think this is going to be the one. I think the American Pro II's are great too, but I think I will love the pickups in this Isbell Tele much much more. Great review John.
Thanks John! Always enjoy your enthusiasm and playing. 👍 In mid-2020, I started playing guitar each day again after taking ten years off. I am using a Taylor T3B and Schecter Nick Johnston HSS this time around. Looking to add one more guitar into the mix at some point. This beauty just might be it my friend 🙂
I was sold on it up to the 7.25 radius. I would put a white guard on that in a bug's eye! MUCH agree with you on the lacquer. Fender needs to learn to offer many of their guitars with flatter boards as an option. Nice playing, Mr. B.
DAM JOHN!!!! What an intro,i like most of em but that was just mean, but smooth,in your face ,yet slick andbuttery....man you are on fire today!!! NICE man!
Fender put Jason on a Tele. We all appreciate that because Jason Isbell is known for his fluidity on a telecaster. Or maybe he's known as the poet laureate of our generation and Fender is just glomming to his success
Here in Holland most are like Jason who ? Thank god I have lived in Georgia for many years.... didn’t he play I know a little at that Skynyrd tribute ?? Hey John, dig the shirt, brother 👊🏻😎🎸
@@johnbohlinger after you get pretending you NEED a Marshall stack out of your head, it’s the logical adult decision. 🤣😂 Great playing, John. Can’t wait for more rundowns.
Great demo as always by John. He reminds me of a Sam Elliot. I wish that signature models would be offered with a choice of a non-reliced version. Keep the specs, ditch the relicing for those who prefer such.
@@actionjacksondan Yeah my standing order is with Sweetwater also. Just that I was told late Aug. I mean it’s not like Kenny Chesney is waiting to go on tour until I get one, but I’m impatient. So how is it?
@@qrptedmac arg that’s a bummer, I guess I got on the list early on Before they were released. That being said I could tell mine had been previously played, had pick marks on pick guard, probably their demo but I didn’t care. I’m not picky, it’s a tool. Man it’s a sweet Tele, worth the wait. Sam Ash is showing them available, check if they are for real, I kind of doubt.
This is a cool guitar, but I have tried 3 different ones and all of them had playability QC issues, and for 1600 bucks that is not acceptable. In general I feel like in addition to raising the prices significantly for the MIM models, Fender has also done a lot of cost cutting in their processes over the past 5 years as it seems like almost every MIM I pick up now has some fret issues and they used have really great fret work across the line for a good 5 to 10 year period there when the bang for buck on them was just amazing.
Never thought I'd find another sister Rosetta Tharpe fan. And damn that Tele is sweet, but my best friends who I share a house with said if I bring home one more guitar, they'll evict me. So...

LOVE the Sister Rosetta Tharpe on the wall! Very overlooked artist.
After hearing several videos of this model, they really made the proprietary pickups sound great.

Thank you, Mighty Joe
So glad to see a new John B review. Been missing him for a few months. And also, wish the made this as a lefty.

Dig the country western shirt with this sweet axe! Nice playing Mr Bollinger.
My two favorite artists, Johnny B and Jason isbell!
You are too kind.
I got my Isbell Tele a couple weeks ago and it really is a fantastic guitar. The neck pickup is magic. Great playing and review!

I have been playing Fender guitars since the 60s. All for the most part had 21 frets. For me, it is that 22nd fret I have to get used to!

Great to see Mr. Bohlinger finally. Great guitar and superb playing. Love PG

John is one of those guys I’d love to meet! Seems like a totally down to earth music nerd
He is one of the most outgoing, nicest guys in the world.

Shirt goes perfectly with this Tele….
Jason got taste 👌👌 I love Tele with binding. Especially double binding
John, you certainly selected a great spanking amp tone to compliment that Telecaster.
Quality review.
Damn sweet demo thanks

My sentiments exactly I'm in the market but my vintage stuff all has 7.25 so definitely going w 9.25 or compound of both
I’m here for John B

In fairness, Jason does play Teles a fair amount.
The White Top Hat pickup selector is the show stopper for me...LOL...
No doubt! I thought the same.

Deep river blues, v tasty my dude
I got them Deep Water Blues …..And I want that guitar
Another guitar i want !! :)
missed Johnny B so much - had to go back and watch again
Thanks Dwayne.
I have to admit that those pickups sound like they are tuned to perfection.
I keep wanting a good Fender Tele and a Fender Strat, but they just sound too sharp to me. Am I suck with Les Paul's?
Cool pillow
Would you buy this over a professional ii?
hellllllll ya
Next episode John is back with the b-bender version!!
