Fender please make another video with Jason Isbell!! He really has some great advise for slide players and would great to have him mic’d up so we could hear his words of wisdom along with the wonderful Tele!
Thank you for this. I saw him playing with Cheryl Crow and thought “I wonder if there’s a Jason Isbell Slide lesson out there?” This is really helpful!
@@ethandorsett4895 From what I understand, the signature tele is actually based partially on aspects of this one and partially on aspects of his vintage red one. I can't remember where I read it, but I saw him mention they apparently voiced the pickups off of that one.
Jason, I always wondered what it would be like to get a guitar lesson from you and now I know. Good, practical advice with enough reasoning behind the application. Thank you very much for doing this!
Casual genius. A lot of great advice (and sly humor) contained within this video’s 13 short minutes. It’s a little crazy to think that even Jason can be intimidated by another guitarist. His chops are incredible, but I guess Tommy Emmanuel can do that to the best of them. It would have been cool, however, if Jason had chosen a setup with a little less hum. That was annoying,
The Isbell neck is very good, but i can't get past the plastic trust rod ajuster at the top of the neck. Stratosphere Guitars had an American Jimmy Page Mirror Guitar Neck in dark Rosewood 7.25 with tuners for $799.00 fit perfectly. Looks like the custom shop Guitar that Jason Isbell really plays. Check out old video of his concerts and you see the real guitar with no plastic ajuster at the headstock.
When he grabs the guitar at approx 2 mins in and the mains hum starts, I wonder - cant they make a hum bucking pickup :) BTW I'l add a little fact. I play and to record, I wear an electronic engineer earthing strap, it solves the problem. EDIT/ADDITION: I know what I'm doing with earthing straps. If you are ever in any situation that might risk electrouction, make sure there is a resistor in series and/or appropriate RCD etc. I don't want anyone doing anything stupid!
You might know what you're doing on a Hello Kitty guitar playing Mary had a little lamb... Your what we call a part-timer... Leave the complicated stuff that you're clueless about to us Lifers...

One of the most underrated guitarists right now. He's one of my absolute favorite guitar players and artists.
Literally no one underrates him as a guitar player. Why do people on youtube always say this about every guitar player?
@@morganghetti Because how many guitarists/guitar fans are going to list Jason Isbell when asked about the best guitarists making music today?
More people should be aware of Jason Isbell. Super talented guy!

He’s so right regarding ‘rakes’.
Hands down one of the best artists around today.

Jan from Denmark

If you want the actual real deal... That would be Kevn Kinney... Drivin'N'Cryin'...
Thank You Mr. Isbell, I really like your tele very beautiful guitar and sounds totally amazing.
That’s some beautiful playing. Absolutely.
I know it may sound silly, but the hammer-on section blew my mind.
There’s a signature tele just waiting to happen.

Get my boy a noise suppressor.
Otherwise, great video. Love his tone.
Can someone tell me from where can I buy an original American Fender Strat and Tele in India ?
Maybe buy online from US and have it shipped. Otherwise just hit up a search engine.
I'm a slide player who uses standard tuning as well. Good video and a lovely tele.
Fender. You couldn’t even mic this guy off for this session. Geez 🙄

Feel like I’m in the nosebleed section kind of far away
When your 60 cycle hum is louder than your speaking voice...
🎶👍🏽
You just cannot beat a Telecaster!
What did he say?
I wanted to like this guitar but ended up selling it, the fretboard radius was simply not usable for me. Make sure you play before buying this one.
Fender, buy a microphone damn!...
For a company specializing in audio equipment, why do Fender’s videos have such poor audio production quality?
Someone put a mic on him.
Hielo
Vocals were way too low. Terrific player though.
WANTED: FENDER LOOKING FOR REAL, "LOVE WHAT I DO, AUDIO TECHS..Website experience welcome..
Great material but LOUSY sound quality on this video.
Can't hear his voice
Hard to hear what you’re saying.. turn off the reverb pedal

Wow - horrible audio. Great player and writer, though
