    When you install the valve body without the little plug. Can you run it without a tune for a little bit or does it need tuned right away?

      The plug is installed for the non tuned trucks. Once you tune the truck, the plug needs to be removed.

    Have a deleted and tuned 2021 RAM 2500 HD, pop up P0871 code and only 1 time, cleared the code and gears shifted well, no code again. But if I want to upgrade VB, shall I use a diagnoise to re-learn before run the car? Cannot find a shop to do that in a reasonable price. The shop I talked to want to rebuild the VB by themselves.

    Im having a random hard 5 to 4 ds. Its commanding /completing shift before lock /psrtial unlock. Would this fix that? It's usually good for a few k miles after I flash a new file and do a relearn. The shorted time it came back was 316 miles. This time it was over 2k. Idk what's causing it. But was debating on a new vb

      Specific driving issues like yours aren’t always fixed with a VB. We always suggest that any driveability issue be diagnosed using a scanner and watching real time data to make sure that your issue is VB related and not tuning or another problem.

    Sp the 68RFE and 66RFE valve body is the same part number. Can I put one in my 66RFE?

    So when you’re talking about tuning are you referring to tranny tuning or like just engine tuning? I’m looking into this valve body but I want to make sure I have everything I need thank in advance

      Trans tuning I am referring to here. You want to make sure if you are upping the line pressure via tuning that you have the screw out of the valve body.

    Can I use the BD-Power 68RFE Pressure Control Module with this valve body? And if so, will I need to plug the relief port? Also, is a quick learn required? Any way to relearn without a scan tool?

      We don’t suggest the modules because they can command more than tuning will. We talk on that in the this video quite a bit. We want to keep the increase line pressure less than max because the VB already ups the line pressure. Anytime the line pressure is raised by tuning the plug should be removed. On the relearn, a module or scanner has to be used.

      I'm really not sure I want to go the tuning route, very expensive and I read on the forums that a lot of people aren't happy with them and had to buy another one from somewhere else. I'm also afraid of the 67A recall. Some people say it locks the ECM so that tunes can't be reinstalled; Does it lock the TCM too? I think the ECM and TCM are one unit on the 2016s. This is why I'm reluctant to try trans tuning; high cost and too many questions that I can't find the answers for. I'll probably end up installing the plug and just keeping the stock tune.

      This VB is designed to add pressure to the 68 and give you better holding of the clutches.

    So if you are running a tuned truck and have to return it back to stock you would have to drain the oil and put in the plug on the VB? Seems like a stupid idea. Why didn't they just put a pressure relief valve so you don't have to mess with it.

    How do I know if my valve body is bad or going bad? 150k on 68rfe and my transmission started dropping into 4th at highway speeds.

      Check codes, and don’t assume it to just be a VB issue. With a 68, likely that any issue could have had effect on trans components.

      @@constantine731 kept dropping out of 5/6 overdrive gears. I went ahead and replaced the transmission with Firepunk’s tow 68rfe. Have towed 19k cross country 3x now no issues.

      Anybody that doesn’t call a Dodge Truck a DODGE TRUCK drinks Michelob Ultra. Also, well aware that its technically a Chrysler transmission but I’m not taking the same brow beating for this as you would if you called a Allison a Chevrolet transmission.       @@thoroughbreddiesel hey wade dont waste your breathe on these guys lol. i just installed the revmax tow/heavy and tuned with trans tuning. didnt have any issues before still dont but also cant really tell a difference from stock VB tuned to revmax tuned maybe need a few miles on it to let it seat in and learn. 150k stock trans and i was the first to open the trans up kinda impressed with 150k and never serviced once that it looks like brand new.
