    With the wildfires and dust don't forget to carefully clean all your panels on a regular basis. Carefully is the active word! I was glad to see you have a functional generator to fall back on as like wind power, solar systems are weather sensitive/dependent to be of much use long term. Make sure you have a full tank of fuel in the RV as getting caught in evacuation traffic with anything less can really suck! Before I retired from Law Enforcement in 2010, I had to work a lot of "Gettin' the Hell out Dodge!" kind of traffic when hurricanes were predicted to hit the coast of the Carolinas. Weekend and parttime RVers were the worst when it came to keeping their tanks even half full, hurricanes or no hurricanes, and toting ten-gallon fuel cans full of gas or diesel back and forth between stranded RVs and gas stations becomes very tiring when you are already working 10 to 24hr shifts.....But we, my fellow LEOs and I, did it anyway. I'm hoping the best for you, the kittens, and your property but be well prepared to get the hell up out of there in big hurry if the fires are not contained and start spreading. In fact, don't wait to be told to evacuate....Just do it!

    • @McRod-1
      @McRod-1 25 дней назад +1

      It should. He is not solar savvy enough to make it work, but his solar array, charge controller and inverter should work just fine without batteries. He just won't get power from them at night. That's when he should be using his Oukitel to power lights or whatever is needed at night. Then use his solar array and inverter to recharge his Oukitel during the day with the 120v AC input and throw those portable panels in the garbage.

      @nomadicfanatic  25 дней назад +8

      Well, to me, BattleBorn batteries are too expensive. Still $1,000 for ONE 100ah battery. So, $5,000 for the 500ah I had in Freeda. Power stations are more portable and all-in-one unit option for those who don't want to build an entire solar system. My system on the Bigfoot cost $13,000 plus labor/install. That's a far cry from a $2,600 power station with portable solar panels you can take anywhere.

    The hot tub and also ac pulls a lot of power and may have been too hard on the battery system. I can run everything directly off my panels when there is sun, but disconnected from my battery packs. Couldn’t you do that too? If not, I’d recommend setting your solar system up that way. There is a lot more energy generated by the real panels compared to those on the ground and they’d charge you Mobil battery packs more readily.

    • @nomadicfanatic

      I'm not even drawing off the batteries in the daytime. The system is in passthru mode when the batteries are floating. They won't even discharge. The power bypasses the batteries and inverts to the AC outs mains until the sun goes down.

    Eric, was the batteries you used before a 48volt battery system?
    Or just 12volt each?
    ....I would recommend buying the the rack mount in 48 or 52volt batteries.
    ....also it seems that everyone wants to wire their battery banks in series, + to - (pos / neg) or 12v only bank positive to positive. for 12 volt system.
    ...I wire my 12 volt battery bank to a Positive & Negative buss bar,
    .... each battery runs independently instead of running power thru all of the batteries with one wire positive on one end of bank and negative wire opposite end of bank.
    Each pos. and Neg. Wires from battery's to Buss bars need to be axacly the same length. My system is 600 amp hour, 3000 watt Victron and 3 solar chargers with 1890 watts of panels.

      They were 12v a piece. 4 of them in series to get to 48v. My sungold power inverter/charger unit is only a 48v system, so I could not have just used the good 3 batteries at 36v.

      @@nomadicfanatic exactly, my point of advice in my comment at the beginning was to invest in rack mount 48 or 52 volt battery instead of 4 12volt battery's.

      Which deep discharge? I only run the RV breaker from 10am to 6pm (while batteries were floating and power coming straight from the solar panels) The issues I'm describing came from night time (after 6pm) when no loads were on except the security system and internet.

    Complains when others use generators, until he needs one. Typical.
