- Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel Alsace. In today’s commentary video, we will be discussing something near and dear to my heart. This is Power Rangers and nerdy television shows and films similar to it. Today we are reacting to this really weird, strange T.V. show from the 90s called Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. I’ve read a lot about this on the internet, and I’ve heard it is really awkward and interesting. So I figured I would talk about it.
Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad is based on a Japanese Tokusatsu television show called Denkou Choujin Girdman, which actually had an anime adaptation a while ago called SSSS. GRIDMAN. The show itself was made by Tsuburaya Production. And in the video we talk about Eiji Tsuburaya and the company's history. In this video, we will be recapping and breaking down the first episode of Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, while I give my opinion on it in a comedy or funny way.
Not the Power Rangers is a show on my RUclips Channel where I review American Tokusatsu, explain it to the internet, and give my opinion on all of it.

Since Tsuburaya produced the U.S. adaptation, it can be considered a follow-up to D.C. Gridman, where Gridman travels to America when he discovers that KiloKhan Digifier had fled there. He then defeats Digifier for good and, with help from the Neon Genesis Jr. High Students (Samurai Calibur, Buster Borr, Sky Vitter and Battle Tracto Max), trails KiloKhan Alexis Kerib, Digifier's successor, to Japan in an augmented universe within the Computer World. I think the NGJH hacked into the universe with Junk so that Gridman could operate properly, leaving the computer's virtual sprite hidden in a salvage shop owned by Rikka Takarada's mother. Later, in Episode 1: Awakening, Gridman meets Rika's amnesiac friend Yuta Hibiki, and the two become one in order to fight a kaiju created by Akane Shinjo, a girl who was "befriended" by Alexis, who was helping her to perfect her new virtual universe. (Alexis' page on the wiki states that he is the corrupted form of General manager of Over Justice from the Trigger anime "Space Patrol Luluco" and that he wandered the multivers for centuries before becoming corrupted. My fan theory is that he was directly corrupted by KiloKhan Digifier. The wiki also states that, having been purified by Gridman's Grid Fixer Beam, Over Justice may return as Gridman Justice in "S.S.S.S. DynaZenon".)
Did You Know...that the glowy thing that come out of Servo's chest can heal broken people's hearts and give them ability to face reality and fix themselves?
I might need him to shoot me with that. Lmao
I used to have the Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad bed sheets 💪🏽💪🏽Thanks for the video.
Dog, I would love so SSSS bed sheets.
I had the Dragon thingy... DRAGO?
This guy lowkey looks like shawn from boy meets world lol
This is the best compliment I've ever received!
I used to watch this weekdays before school. I really liked it.
It's great!
Dude... This, Classic Transformers, VR Troopers, and Power Rangers were my nineties
That sound solid to my tbh
@@ChristianAntwan that's leaving out Neverending Story 2, The Dark Crystal, and Beast Master. Since they're movies.
really digging ur not the power rangers series. Ive been binge watching it
Thanks homie!
There used to a dollar store as a kid that would sell these on VHS and my grandma would buy them for my brother and I and we used to binge non-stop
That's so awesome man. I love that memory!
funny how even the anime SSSS Gridman have references from this series
I know! It's awesome!
@@ChristianAntwan Makes sense tho because "Denkou Choujin Gridman", "Superhuman Samurai SyberSquad", "Denkou Choujin Gridman: the Anime" and "S.S.S.S. Gridman" are all produced by Tsuburaya.
Gridman!!! This was awesome! Another variation of Ultraman.
Love gridman!
You forgot mentioning Amp, the comic relief character and other team member. He was replaced half season for another character, and was written out as being actually an alien. Also the evil Kilokahn was voiced by none other than Tim Curry!
You're right I forgot to mention Amp
Shame this series doesn't have the budget that at least match MMPR. The series feels more "alive" and colorful than MMPR despite being limited to five-or-so indoor sets (Team Samurai's personalities are not limited to "5 Teenager with Attitude" archetypes and have personal interests beyond charity, the background characters also have well-defined personalities, good exploitation of Japanese stock footage, the fact that the rest of the Team actually join the fight in their Assist Weapons instead of sticking with controlling them from outside)
I couldn't have said it better myself!
Christmas is coming up so heres a gift title Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills
Trust me my friend. That one is on the list!
It’s pronounced “D-eek” smh
Nowdays it turn to gridman ssss... Same concept
But ssss gridman is a anime but in live action he is superhuman samurai
Please continue these type of videos, awesome videos :)
Thank you so much man! Just wait for December 20th! I hope it's a good one!
Nearly forgot about this show, even had a few of the toys as a kid and holy crap was that Tim friggin Curry?!
Yeah . . . That was him lol
theres a TON of refrences to Superhuman Samurai in SSSS.Gridman, mostly from some names
That's good to know actually
Amp was a cool character too bad midway he leave the show and he was replace by a surfer guy. Gridman had a planned sequel where Malcolm's counterparts become good and become his own gridman form called sigma or gridknight but it was scrapped
That's sad because that would have been kinda cool.
The biggest problems I have with this is that it doesn't have a finale and that it reuses way to much of the same stock footage in different battles that we've already seen in earlier episodes.
That's honestly the worst
@@ChristianAntwan And it's the same with VR Troopers and Beetleborgs Metallix (Big Bad Bettlebors season 2) not having a finale.
And another that I don't know if I should request for "NOT THE POWER RANGERS" because It's not based off/inspired from a Japanese series, It' based off a series of books?
@@cubesolver64 That's unfortunate because I genuinely loved Beetleborgs growing up!
@@ChristianAntwan Same, I remember renting Beetleborgs how many times from Blockbuster.
And the show that I want to request for "NOT THE POWER RANGERS" is "Animorphs" that's based off a series of books, and like the others (spoiler) it also does not have a finale. www.imdb.com/title/tt0154147/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Toei Company/Saban Studios, Tsuburaya Productions/DiC Entertainment, and Bandai/Hasbro: the Tokusatsu Trifecta.
Toei/Saban: Japanese and American companies in partnership who brought us Super Sentai/Power Rangers, BeetleBorgs & V.R.T\ Troopers/Metal Heroes and Kamen Rider/Masked Rider; Toei's animation division brought us great anime such as MachGoGoGo/Speed Racer, and the Dragonball series; Saban independently produced Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, was owned by Disney for a while before becoming independent again, and is currently owned by Hasbro Entertainment.
Tsuburaya: Japanese company who brought us Godzilla, Ultraman and Gridman/Superhuman Samurai SyberSquad, as well as their corresponding Toku Anime series; "SyberSquad" was produced in partnership with DiC Entertainment; DiC's other tokusatsu, Tatooed Teen-age Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills, is not so good; "S.S.S.S. Gridman" was produced in partnership with Studio Trigger.
Bandai: Japanese toy company with American-based division, which sells toys for both Toei/Saban and Tsuburaya series/movies; the American division is currently owned by Hasbro.
Love this essay man. It means a lot to see you care enough to write all this.
For the record, the main character’s name is Sam.
Lol, I know. I just called him Jack because of boy meets world. It was a dumb joke
But you aint mention my guy Lucky...
DiC (Deek) get it right god! lol jk X3
Fuckin love this show, still have the old toys >w
Lol
Ssss gridman was great
If servo is a samurai, what happened to his sword? That doesn't make sense.
You're telling me
Bet they used that to make it sound dope.
#607 subscriber keep it up now to watch what else you have
Thank you so much #607!
im not trying to sound like im disliking your information. ilove the video. but it wasnt a computer club. it was a rock band

You say you wouldn’t let Malcolm near your girlfriend...but you use words like “Queen” and “mood”.....switch girlfriend for boyfriend dawg 😂 sus as fuck homie 😂
I don’t
The japanese version is way better than the american version

It's pronounced "deek" not DICK.

Ohh god these american adaptions are awful, there sooo awful , looking back at these now , i see how much they tried to capitalize on the success of power rangers.
