Probably my favourite older sentai show, heck even one of my favourite of all time along with Shinkenger and Timeranger. I just wish there is more backstory on Bias, explanation on the 1000 point brain concept and character depth on the protagonists.
If you haven't seen it, heavy recommend the Liveman tribute episode of Gokaiger. It sums up Liveman so well. All life is precious, but you can't save everyone from themselves. And if you can't save their lives, you may still save their souls.

Liveman is a groundbreaking Super Sentai show where so many things it introduced for the modern Sentai later use. The show was made during the end of Showa era so the writer pull out all the stop to make it great series.

Damn great video man! Hoping to see more showa-era shows covered here🤟🏽 I will say though, that you could’ve edited this way tighter. The constant comedic pauses hold the flow back and are kind of tedious. Plus, sometimes you get into your own head too much and get hung up on irrelevant side commentary. And obviously two intermission in the middle that just slow down an already bloated video Other than that though, you did a great job summarizing an entire show episode by episode. One of my Top 5 Sentai series and it became my favorite due to the gimmick and casting/ chemistry with the characters. You have good taste, a friend of mine likes the series(took him awhile to sit down and watch the series) but still hate the suit and helmets. As this is one of the dark Sentai series that I enjoy(Maskman and Dairanger are the others and yes Jetman is one of them but I am not a fan). Great that you went over quickly all 49 episodes. This series did sort of change my life a bit and my favorite Sentai Femme is Megumi Misaaki(Blue Dolphin). God I fell in love with her and her song Spark! Umi E. Is adrenaline anthem for me. It was a unique series as they were going back to the 3 count with Sun Vulcan and the color/animal basis is very similar. Also between Daisuke Shima(red falcon) and Megumi Mori. The two are well known singers in Japan until the hits stopped before 1988. The 3/5 gathering motif would continue with Hurricangers(even the animals and color is similar and the Academy massacre) with Abaranger, Gekiranger and Gobusters . Cheers and keep up the excellent hard work.
7:35 - so I have feelings on this. It's not just the Robo that feels like it belongs in the 90s. it's the suits, too. But Since Liveman was the '88-'89 Sentai, I suppose this is to be expected. Sometimes designs in sentai are just ahead of their time in the best way possible (Liveman). I suppose this is why the goseiger suits look like they belong in the 80s though.

@@ChristianAntwan I don't necessarily want to change your mind, but episode 26 was the part 2 to that episode. This episode shows the same kid from before and he teaches a friend to be fearless like when Joe taught him.
Liveman, in my opinion, has the best stretch of ending episodes in all of sentai. Like the late 30's to the last episode. I love how dark it gets. I just wish Bias had a more in depth backstory.
The most popular Japanese Super Sentai in Korea were Mask Man and Flash Man. However, I think Live Man is the best because of its story, which is very cinematic and criticizes the problems of Japanese society in the 80s, including education. Live Man is personally one of my favorite Japanese Super Sentai 😊😄 Also because I have fond memories of watching videos with my childhood friends 😭
I really like how in the early parts of liveman the squad would get washed by the minons it's crazy because that's not a trope you usually see like a few episodes the minons are actually whooping their ass I thought that was really cool
I really like Liveman’s villain structure. Carantula is Obular’s counterpart and Yodonna Mazenda (even down to be red’s ex and her sacrifice at the end-albiet there’s elements of Kemp’s demise in the concept of it). You would think Shadon would be Ashura, but he’s a bounty hunter who serves a different faction based on Gekiranger’s Summer movie villains who are the end game. I gave Kemp Ikergan’s suit as his final form since Kyuranger is not adapted in its timeline since it begins from Ryusoulger. Also Mabushina dies so Garza’s counterpart, who is Eras’s wife-but we use Yodon’s form and Garza’s final form and the sheep monster from the summer movie are apart of the faction. Minjo is the counterpart of the twin monster. Satan Minosaur is adapted here for Guildos so it and Numanjo are played into lore about Lokar and Scorpina-yet still robots.
The whole back story is that the faction started having liked drawn, so Garza sent a representative to Planet X (Crystalia) to get crystals to woo Eras and save their relationship, things went south and led to civil war and the extinction of the dinosaurs (which explains both the Dino gems and the Kiramei Crystals on earth. Dino Gems bonded to dinosaurs and the rest bonded to vehicles upon discovery-like Smog Jouki or once their surroundings exhibited a new trait-such as pink’s Zord being a rescue helicopter due to its crash site becoming a hospital)
I find it ironic that Mazenda turns herself into a cyborg where Bias created two cyborgs. I really ran with that for Numanjo’s counterpart, especially since we make this more about the females villains and the females rangers. In the end, it’s Goh/Carantula who tries to protect her by trying to transform via the Hornet Crystal, but fails to even get as far as Mari and Takuji in the process. His story is about find a community that accepts him for who he is (since he’s an exiled queer) that Mazenda’s counterpart takes pity on him (Kemp’s counterpart has a family history of crime so she sees him as useful and a potential foil to her and the boss)

I'm actually more into super sentai than Power Rangers, tbh, even though super sentai reinvents with every new season. Saban nerfed many sentai material that showed more continuity. Then again, super sentai was for kids and adults whereas PR was only for kids.
Man after watching this I really understood why Turboranger underperformed. Liveman was arguably the near peak of Sentai narrative, while Turboranger was just... mediocre in everything.

I'm actually more into super sentai than Power Rangers, tbh, even though super sentai reinvents with every new season. Saban nerfed many sentai material that showed more continuity. Then again, super sentai was for kids and adults whereas PR was only for kids.

Man after watching this I really understood why Turboranger underperformed. Liveman was arguably the near peak of Sentai narrative, while Turboranger was just... mediocre in everything.
