How did the USSR/Russia manage to rebuild St Petersburg to become the beautiful city it is now?

I’ve heard that Russia is more advanced in beauty treatments than the US. Like for instance there is Russian women in different countries that will travel back to Russia to get their hair/nails done because no other country can compare to the Beauty Masters of Russia! What type of beauty treatments can you get in Russia that you can’t get in other countries? Also what are some beauty tips that Russian women swear by.

I used to travel a lot internationally in my job and the best lesson of all from this was that there are good and kind people everywhere, all wanting to have a good life and to support their families. I love watching Vlogs such as yours as they reinforce this message and help people see past all of the political nonsense that citizens are told about other countries and their peoples.
I am half English and half German and have a Russian wife (from Crimea).
I remember experiencing the craziness of the Siberian climate when on one trip we were walking to an Irish pub in Novosibirsk city centre in 25C minus and six months later avoiding the mosquitos at a picnic barbecue and wild strawberry picking in the woods by the bank of the Ob river.
Your Vlogs are excellent, keep up the good work. Greetings from London.

I really like this video and the music is superbly classy and stately, like Saint Petersburg.
I'm with you, winter sucks and one day is plenty. As long as the winters are, you'd think that there'd be lots of Green Houses everywhere and that apartments and houses would be fitted with them, so that people could successfully grow plants year-round?
St isac's Cathedral is amazing. You can get an idea of how huge it is, by looking at the size of the people using the cat-walk rising from the right bell tower.
I would definately ride in one of the royal coaches, just for the experience. The Winter Palace is remarkable and massive.
    Question time.
You speak English well, where did you learn it?
Do you have any university education and what is it?
What is your personal mission for your life?
What is your next goal you'd like to accomplish?
You read books, so what is your reading interest? Meaning, do you read all subject matters or do you prefer one more than the others? Example: SciFi, Fantasy, Crime, Mystery, Biography, History, Fiction, Religious, Self Help, Gardening, etc..
Where would you like to spend the rest of your life? Or, where in the world do you like most and would be happy there?
    Do you believe in God?

I love winter though and miss the snow. It does not snow where I live now. You might like it though, it gets up to 118 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't worry, you are not the only one who do not care to discuss politics. Where would you live outside of Russia? What is your favorite place you have been. And where do you dream of going(if you haven't been there already). I'll give you one guess where my dream destination is. I look forward to your Q&A video.

It's pretty easy to hate winter when it lasts 6+ months and you can't go out anywhere because of it, and the steering wheel in your car is too cold to touch. And the RH is zero and you have to take a bath every day to stop your skin falling off.

Where in Siberia did you grow up? For myself after growing up in Germany but now living in California I like winter again, and even more so the rain. We don't have rain here between April and October, and let alone any snow. You need to go to Yosemite or that area if you want to see snow.

There’s something about you, Svetlana. You’re a charming young lady. Your mom, dad, sister and whole family look very proud of you.
I have always felt I have Russian blood via my Swedish and Polish/Hungarian ancestors. Recently we discovered a Russian Jewish line. I am Christian. I always knew that I was part of that country and it’s/your people.
Secondly, one of my favorite history stories is that of Peter the Great and his amazing accomplishments.
    Two questions.
One, you probably have spoke about previously, are Americans able to retire near there? I want to feel life there.
Two, is St. Petersburg loved and appreciated by the average Russian citizen?
I think Peter was an incredible leader.
I am always waiting for your next video. Great job, 👧 girl!!
    Jack

Hi Svetlana, you can be glad to have a real winter. Here in Germany it is not 3 months of snow - but 3 month of rain and stormy wind - not better believe me! I have been 3 times to Skt. Petersburg and my question is .: Why is this city at least 3 times more expensive than Moscow??? In restaurants for lunch f. ex. you get a business lunch for a normal price but the bottle of beer is about 8 Euro!!! I never spend so much money in restaurants like in Saint Petersburg!

I found your channel by accident and like your content so far. I'm not a fan of winter either. I would love to visit St Petersburg but not during the winter time. My question: How long you started doing vloging and what motivates you to do it. What do you do for a living? Would you be willing to do a live stream on RUclips as you show us your country so we can interact with you and ask you question lived? Have a good one Svetlana. Looking forward to your next vlog post.

Here in Northern Michigan, USA, we had two snowstorms in three days...your guys plow the snow the same way our guys do. I saw a lot of those snow plows this past week. Well, we won't have to dream of a white Christmas anyway. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 !

I saw where you rejected a little black dress as you said, "Too short".
I love a woman who has self respect and I loved your comment regarding the dress. And you're right. It was too short. You have alot of of class.

Ok Miss Svetlana what is your last name ?
You don’t have to answer that. I have Great Grandparents-on my father’s side of family from the St. Petersburg area. They migrated west around 1890 to the United States. I do very much enjoy all of your videos and gorgeous locations. Thank You 😊

Hi Svetlana, I personally love snow and winter❄️. I can appreciate why you don’t like winter if you lived in Siberia, 9 months winter a year is a bit much. St. Petersberg is a beautiful city, thank you for sharing with us. The background classical music is beautiful! Thank you 🙏🏼

If you don't like winter you should move to Hawaii or Florida of the United States. You could also move to Virginia Beach because it has winter, spring, summer and fall. Summer is my personal favorite. I agree with you as well about hating winter.

  • @carltanner9065
    @carltanner9065 2 года назад

I'm the opposite. I hate summer. Where I live, the summers can be hot and oppressive. Very humid. Sun can be too bright during the day. Plus, it can rain for weeks at a time and very heavy rain at that!! And/or we end up getting cyclones. Everything goes moldy. When you sleep at night, you sweat so much that it feels like you've been for a swim when you get up in the morning.
And, with the changing climate as it is, it's getting worse. Plus, I have a condition which doesn't react too well to summer. I ache a lot more during summers and much prefer the cooler weather of autumn and winter. Actually, winter where I live isn't too bad, but it's more like your own summer or a southern European summer than a real winter.
Anyway, enough about me, here's my question. Since it snows so much in Russia, and it looks like you get a good covering of snow (and maybe ice at times) have you ever used skis or ice skates to get around the place :) Looks like you could have some fun in St Petersburg on a pair of skis!!!! :) :P

That snow is normal during that time of the year. -3C is not soo cold. Wait another 10-15 years and this will be a thing of the past. Will gonna see snow just in the pictures. Rember about your parents or grandparent told you about -20 -30C in December during winters? -3C now, is just a walk in the park. Why do I say this? We used to have winters like in St Petersburg, during December. Now is just cloudy, grey, and raining all day. Sincerely, I prefer snow
