The UK is a dystopian nightmare nowadays. Cost of living is rising everyday, crime is rampant, the streets are full of homeless drunks and the knife crime is out of control at times. Some of the prices for train tickets from London to another city could buy a plane ticket to Spain or France. I envy you mate. Wish I could move to Russia. @@AngloSaks666there are some problems with these statements.
Regarding crime rate, it's very important what is reported. I don't know much about that, but I heard that in the West it's meaningless to report "small" crimes. Not all crimes are equal and there is nuance hidden behind straightforward crime rate metric.
Regarding access to information and discourse, your statement assumes that platform for that discussion is unbiased. That is not the case, and was basically never the case. There is no reason for government to engage in an obviously losing battle. Everything said will be taken out of context, distorted, and copy-pasted all over the place, creating a flood of misleading information. I would assume at least third of people that keep using restricted platforms are familiar with said biases and reasons for restriction.
While I was typing last paragraph I remembered a certain crime that happened almost 2 years ago (end of September), for which everyone knows the perpetrator, but no one dares to officially investigate. Because if they do, that will lead to politicians in charge getting their skeleton closets opened at unfortunate times.

Imagine the Kremlin, the northern wall, the memorial of eternal flame at the grave of the unknown soldier. There are always a lot of people there. And suddenly, when I approach the memorial, I realize that most likely an event is being prepared. Perhaps Putin will come to lay flowers or something else. And for security reasons, they had to push the crowd back twenty meters. Do you know how they pushed back the crowd? They did not fence the memorial with a chain, they did not fence the memorial with police tape. They just put female police officers in uniform in a chain around the memorial. They weren't standing shoulder to shoulder, there were ten meters between them. Just the women from the police office, no bulletproof vests, blue skirt, white blouse, office uniform, They did not shout "passage is prohibited." They just formed an invisible boundary, and no one crossed that boundary. Law and order in the highest form.

In 1938 at the Swiss publishing house "Vita Nova" was published the book , the work of the German philosopher Walter Shubart "Europa und die Seele des Ostens"/ «Europe and the Soul of the East», dedicated to the origins of the confrontation of civilizations of Europe as the West and Russia as the East. The book broke stereotypes of Western worldview. “Russia has proved to all mankind the inconsistency of the godless culture ... and, suffering for all, is purified itself from the alien that has suffocated it for centuries... Now begins the second act of drama. The road for the awakened forces of the East...”.
The European is drawn to specialization. The Russian - to holistic contemplation. The European is a dismembering analyst. The Russian is an all-reconciling synthetic. He does not seek to know more, but to understand the connection of things, to grasp the essence. The Russian is as capable as anyone - to merge poetry, science and religion; and in this - the future is behind him, and himself - the man of the future.
Walter Shubart proclaims the salvation of Europe by Russia and the “birth of Western-Eastern world culture». Shubart’s book is a fascinating essay about the national characters of the world’s leading peoples. Although the main thing for the author is the forthcoming transformation of mankind and the saving mission of the «healing Russian soul”.
“The Englishman looks at the world as his own enterprise, the Frenchman - as a salon, the German - as a barracks. The Russian looks at the surrounding world as the Divine Temple. The Englishman craves prey, the Frenchman for glory, the German for power, the Russian for sacrifice. For the Russian life is a sacrifice, a life of conscience... People have forgotten that life is a sacrifice, a submission of oneself or one’s ego higher purpose, cause or principle.
An Englishman wants to profit from his neighbor, a Frenchman wants to impress his neighbor, a German wants to command his neighbor, and a Russian wants nothing from him. He does not want to turn his neighbor into his means. This is the brotherhood of the Russian heart and the Russian idea. And this is the Gospel of the future.
Russian all-man is the bearer of new solidarism. Promethean man is already doomed to death. The epoch of the Ioannovsky man - a man of love and freedom. Such is the future of the Russian people. The West is driven by disbelief, fear and self-love; the Russian soul is driven by faith, peace and brotherhood. That is why the future belongs to Russia...
Characterizing the cultural and historical type of European and Russian man, V. Shubart uses the terms «promethean» and «gothic». The European has a «Promethean» moral constitution, which is based on the view of the world as an object, which should conquer, subdue, rebuild. Hence the eternal aggression of the West against the East, the desire of the West to «civilize» the East.
The book «Europe and the Soul of the East» (1938) was included by the German Nazis in the list of «undesirable and harmful literature. It burned on Nazi ritual bonfires.
I read this book in Russian translation. Shubart V. Evropa i dusha Vostoka = Europe and the soul of the East. Moskva : Russkaja ideja, 1997. 446 s.

Totally agree, I spend 6 months per year in Moscow...from May to October. I'm from Western Europe and the situation there is deteriorating every year, it has become impossible to afford a home in a decent neighborhood despite working 8-9 hours per day in highly stressful professional jobs. Everybody is so stressed out and burnout from working like crazy and as a result of it they're mean spirited and also sick. The % of chronic illness is skyrocketing. If you need a medical exam or a surgery you need to wait months or years...and they call that public health care? How is it even a healthcare if I'm forced to wait one year to get a doctor appointment or a surgery? The quality of food is so bad it's crazy...in supermarkets it's full of GMO foods, processed foods with toxic chemicals and fruits and vegetables full of pesticides, herbicides ecc....no wonder people get sick like never before in history, they're literally getting poisoned without being aware. You can save yourself only if you go to farmers' market, buy organic and check every label.
Crime and immigration are enormous problems, there are entire neighborhoods that you can't walk safely as an adult...let alone for a frail old person or children. And at night you never know what it might happen....criminals are taken into custody (when they do get taken) and then released immediately afterward. All decent neighborhoods that are less impacted by illegal immigration and skyrocketing crime are completely unaffordable and only multi-millionaires can live there.
Relationships between men are women are mostly toxic these days....the "gender neutrality" propaganda have created a genderless mess where nobody is deeply attracted to the other sex anymore because they destroyed the masculine and feminine polarity. Everybody is casual dating each other and losing attraction a couple months later and then trying the next one...rinse and repeat. Nowadays the majority of children grow up in divorced families, it has become a luxury for children to grow up in a loving family with two parents that stay together. How can you even get married and start a family in an environment like this?
The LGBT mafia is everywhere and they push it down your throat to you 24/7 non stop, they're relentless....even if you don't have anything against it, it's the constant push that make you against it. All those rainbow flags everywhere, children getting forcibly brainwashed by it in schools, it's everywhere in movies, tv series, books, ecc. It has become a cult and nobody realize it. You can't even criticize it anymore without being labeled as a fascist or homophobe...they live in a dystopian world where nothing can be criticized anymore and censorship is enforced.
Then you have the diversity hiring quotas that destroyed meritocracy especially for the white, straight men. Now every company must have a given number of employees that MUST be LGBT, ethnic minorities or women even if there are other people that are way more qualified for that position. Where is meritocracy? A society without meritocracy can only collapse.
And then the incessant propaganda in the mainstream media and newspapers, the eco-mafia idiots (btw I support the environment but not the Greta Thunberg kind of idiots), the skyrocketing prices and inflation, the crazy amount of taxes where you have to give 50% or more of what you earn to the State that will use it to steal, finance wars and for welfare to illegal migrants. Everything is so bad that you can't be optimistic about the future.
Russia does have some problems most of which originated from the 90s where State enterprises were sold for peanuts to a group of Western backed/loving oligarchs that literally stole national resources to enrich themselves and then spend this money earned in Russia abroad supporting foreign economies with Russia's money but there is common sense here, the culture is better here, children are happier here despite the stereotypes that originate through Hollywood propaganda. And a good culture is the backbone for a good economy. When the culture deteriorates the economy will follow suit eventually and that's why I left Western Europe. The good years of the West ended a decade ago and it will only get worse from here going forward....historically cultural degradation always brought the end of empires/countries.

@@sashikshik …… Hi! I taught in public school in NYC before my sons were born. Now, with the administration they have, too many students are out of control and very disrespectful, along with parents. Teachers are treated like babysitters. It’s a shame - New York City schools used to be top notch and well respected. Now, the program standards have been ‘dumbed down’ to give the impression that all students meet requirements. The whole education system needs to be overhauled and standards need to be raised so that students actually come out of school with more than just a diploma and barely minimum achievements. Even our colleges and universities have lowered admission standards. I wouldn’t mind being a tutor. Since Covid, many parents have pulled their children from public schools and are home schooling or sending them to private schools or co-op schools that set higher standards.

Very good points Jim. I know your not political but the UK has been financialised, education system hollowed out, mass immigration allowed to keep wages low,all for the owning and ruling class, to make more profits. social programmes are being defunded , nhs defunded it has more people to look after with less money. It will be privatised soon. less police, no council housing.the list goes on and on.look at the US and see the UK is exactly the same just a smaller version. we are 100% a satalite of the US. The new PM was chosen for the people by the the US, the elites the media. He is a CIA/MI5 stooge .the UK privatised all public transport, so no investment only profits for share holders. The UK is Broke .no money for anything or its people but plenty billions for wars and supporting fascists in Ukraine, Israel etc.you name it and the UK is funding and supporting fascist around the world.Any government thats for its people, to lift them up, give them a better deal, keep their resouces for their own people then the UK is against this including a good deal for its own people.
The lies and propaganda the people of the UK are fed by the BBC, ITV, SKY is criminal. The western elites have had it all their way for far too long.capitalism is failing. when this happens they take us to war.cause mayhem, destruction , devide and conquer around the world to keep their power.Hopefully the working people will wake up.
The other reason for moving to Russia you forgot to mention is the good looking slim women! Baby elephants belong in India and Africa not the hi street!.

The comments say that Russia also has many immigrants, but they do not mention an important difference with Europe. Central Asia has only recently ceased to be part of Russia, the adult generation of immigrants are our former citizens, and their ancestors lived in Russia for centuries. They know the Russian language and Russian culture, even though they are Muslims. This difference is very significant, and they also do not live on benefits.

The problem is not with their background, which they didn't choose, but with their lack of education and how they illegally entered. All countries around Russia are relatively stable (minus Ukraine), and illegals only go to Russia to get to the EU. Just so you know, "Muslim" invaders won't make Europe more Muslim than, say, United Arab Emirates or Qatar (which are very safe countries even with millions of Indians and Arabs because there is law in those countries). Ghettoization and maniacal leftists will bring about the end of Great Britain. Borders should be closed to all illegals and non-educated migrants. This way, you'd only get the beneficial individuals who will actually benefit the host country, rather than plunder it.
