- 🇷🇺 This journey that started for me aged 17 in Anna’s Russian class has now come to an end. I have been officially banned from Russia for a period of three years. What great memories were created. From the villages of the Komi republic to the mountains of Dagestan, to the Siberian forests and Baikal, we have experienced so many adventures. I'll always remember the amazing Russian people I met with great fondness but it's time to to bring the curtain down.
Glory to the USSR!
Found this page three years ago when I was trying to get off drugs. I watched every episode and it got me through some dark times. Three years off drugs now and life is much better. Can’t thank you enough, Bald, for creating this content.
I feel as though this series was easily worth $50, thanks so much for the entertainment and history. I learned more about Russia and the USSR than I ever intended to. It’s always fantastic to see that people are not so different no matter where around the globe they may be, thank you for highlighting that Mr Bald.
Thank you Bald. For everything. For all that Soviet goodness. The murals, the Soviet sinks. Gopniks, the lot. And Alinchik.

Banned from Ukraine for having visited Russia, banned from Russia for having supported Ukraine. What a misfortune
Watching Bald leave Russia was unreal, being BANNED from the country that he loves so much, you could just feel his pain at the river scene, hope we get to see you again Bald, with love from Brasil!
I am Russian, I live in Russia and I've watched every video about Benjamin's trip across my country. There is no one like him. Best. Travel. Vlogger. What he shows is so authentic, tru and down to earth - no one else can do it that way. He always shows the real Russia, the real Soviet Union. Thank you for your truth and for your sincere honesty.
Why would he be banned from Russia?
@@markwilson5875 didn't you see his vid when he was caught sneaking into see the old Russian spacecrafts? It's because of that. It was a private government facility.

This is the most Soviet ending possible to Bald's travels.
This is a big loss for Russia. Bald has been showing Russia to the world, he showed the places and the situations that give a feel of real Russia, not a tourist image. This channel brought Russians and people from other countries closer, raised interest and understanding. I'm sorry about the decision to ban Bald.
Greetings from Moscow
Can we take a moment to appreciate how well he handled this moment, while every other youtuber on the planet would milk this situation and make countless videos exaggerating the situation with all-caps clickbait titles and surprised faces, you know the kind, bald just calmly explains it with a smile and a laugh and says he needs to carry on, like a man! that's the way!
Great point.
Yup like Johnny FD
what an ending though, a soviet era inspired tragedy
@@MakeAllThingsBeautiful it’s just the whole world situation that is fucked up and that got him banned sadly. Hope for him he can go to Russia again in the future and that they lift his ban from Russia

I am shocked that Bald is banned. He was truly the only person throwing a good light on Russia and its citizens.
I found you years ago while battling cancer, I was stuck at home for months on end for most of a year. And you were one of the things that kept me alive and sane. I loved seeing updates and new locations every few days, the colorful and wonderful people you'd meet and see, and the wonderful locations with murals and statues and always things to discover. You taught me to not be afraid and to experience the unknown with passion. I can't say how sorry I am your journey there had gone that way. But I hope you the best for the future, I've beaten cancer and your journey in Russia has ended. I wait eagerly to see you travel again, your truly a bright star walking among us. Please don't forget this isn't just content, you helped save me and probably others. Thank you Benjamin.
Good for you and it’s lovely too hear you beat that awful cancer. Ben must of sent positive vibes through the internet making you fight back. Many doctors say that those who remain positive tend too have better survival rates. If the mind gives up, the body gives up.
Bald is indeed an inspiration for us. He taught us not to fear the unknown and to be brave when taking the first step outside of our comfort zone.
Congrats on kicking cancer’s ass Benjamin !!!!
Bald has taught me more about Russias landscape and history than the entirety of school has. Glad you’ve shown us the very many people, towns, foods and monuments of the country. It’s been a beautiful journey to watch
Yea okay but school is not there to teach you about Russian landscapes lol
I get your historical point tho.
I am from Russia and have been almost nowhere except my hometown, as well as most of my friends. Traveling in Russia is very expensive, inconvenient and sometimes dangerous.
I share that profound sense of loss Ben.
Why the fuck would any school teach u russian landscapes lol
@Idiya Facts. I want to travel to WA to see my Brother but it is cheaper to fly to New Zealand. Ridiculous.
Bro the ending got me choked up, it’s like an end of adventure for all of us who have been watching your videos. The best vlogger to ever touch RUclips and there won’t be another one like it. Salut to you sir, I hope your next adventure fits you well 🫡

A Word from Bald: "I've been in bed
convalescing for ten days so not been able to
discuss what happened in Russia. I will discuss it
in future because it is a belter of a story but I was
accused of criticizing Vladimir Putin.
After a few days in the cells I was taken to an office of an
MVD officer ( ministry of internal affairs ) who
said 'Whether you get just a fine or a long prison
stretch depends on how sorry you are for what
you said and your justification for saying it.' In
that moment you have a decision to make: either
be a hero and get five years in a concrete cell or
say 'Glory to Putin!' and go home to enjoy your
life with your family and friends again.
I took the second option without hesitation which is why I'm
writing this from my comfy bed and not from a
concrete cell in Birobidzhan. I'm not Russian or
Ukrainian and won't be martyring myself for any
of their causes. The only shield I'll ever fall on will
be covered in the Union flag. (UK)
Anyway before I'm feeling better and speak again
I will say that I wasn't treated badly. In fact the
director of the prison 'Tarass' was a bloody good
bloke who brought me extra noodles to eat
( bloody rolton though and not doshirak t] ). My
only regret is I wasn't there long enough to get a
badass Russian prison tattoo. Everything else was
cool. Scary as fuck, but cool at the same time to
get the ultimate Soviet experience.
Right now my friend @lanasator is languishing in
an Albanian prison on trumped up spying
charges. I'm working with others to get her
decent legal representation and get her home. It's
a dangerous job at times."
I have appreciated your films more than any blockbuster Hollywood flick. Thank you for allowing me to travel vicariously through you during the pandemic.

I've never given this much to a RUclips creator before, but your series is beyond excellent. Your channel, as well as NFKRZ really changed my perspective about Russia in a positive way. I began learning the language in earnest in 2020, and will continue despite recent horrific events. I've resigned myself to the obvious fact that I will never visit Russia myself, but through your videos I feel like I've been there with you throughout your journey. Being in Russian prison must've been terrible, and terrifying. This journey was well worth the $50 if you ask me. Thank you so much for bringing myself and others along for the journey of a lifetime across Russia, across borders into a place that was otherwise pretty foreign to me.
My favorite part was definitely the people we met. My mother and I particularly liked it when you met Colya, the elderly gentleman that appeared to have early stages of Parkinsonism. I don't know what it is that really endeared us to him, but my mother keeps asking me if you've gone back to see him. The other one, which is just iconic, is when you were drinking homemade wine with some babushkas at their house. And, of course, when you and NFKRZ hung out together. You've gone to so many places, but nothing will top when you got to touch an actual Soviet space shuttle recently. I wish that Russia would open up to the world and let more people visit because there's so much diversity and culture in Russia that is going unappreciated. The people of Russia deserve much better than what they are getting right now, but I won't go down that track right now.
Sorry for so many words, but thank you for at least the entertainment, but at most for introducing me to a fascinating place, culture, and people called Russia.

I watched this video tearing up in my university library. I've been watching your channel since 2018 and have seen every video bar none. You not only helped me get through one of the most depressing times in my life, but have been the only youtuber to truly affect my aspirations for the future. I wish you the best, Bald, and thank you for these years of fantastic content.
The best channel on RUclips by a million miles! Everytime a bald notification came up I knew I had the best 20-30 of my day to look forward too! You really are one of a kind 🙌🏻
this is it
💯
If you actually listened to him he says hes Russian videos are over I am willing to bet we will hear from him again Half his videos are from India right There is still a lot of countries out there he hasn't been to We will see Maybe he is done But he does make good money off his channel And He changed his logo Why would you bother doing that if you're giving up the channel
It was an experience like watching a movie that lasts 3 years. Thank you for taking us from our homes and showing the lives of people as real as possible.
You've made a difference in my life by expanding my horizons and by showing EMPATHY to everyone you meet. I can't wait for the next chapter!
Thank you, Benjamin for this amazing adventure, and for enlightenment you gave the world about us. There is no channel in the world that gave me these emotions. I wish you best of luck my friend
Outstanding - you've helped many of us get through dark times, lit up whenever we saw a new upload. Through this pandemic and draconian shutdowns / restrictions, you were a window into the world and we lived vicariously through you. It's a bittersweet ending that Russia could do this to you, but you'll find some other adventurising no doubt. Thank you!
Well said👌👍
Yes he did bring some light to some dark days
Nice to read a comment from another who is awake.
3+ years ago if you said to me that I would spend hours upon hours watching a bald guy explore the former USSR I would have never believed you. In fact the last few years of Balds soviet videos have been fucking awesome. 100% in my lifetime I will be having my own soviet adventure, it has opened up part of a world I never knew I wanted to visit.
You’d be better living vicariously through the channel. To quote Donald Trump,Russia is a shit hole.
Same
I'd probably believe it tbh
just hammers the nail into why old school Corperate TV is ABSOLUTE TRASH.. Bald FTW
I agree.. Belarus is my first stop...go and check on koylia!
What a journey you've taken us on Bald. These vlogs will stand the test of time. Long may your great work continue, showing us other parts of the world
^^^^^
unfortunately, think he's done vlogging
@@dumbvedeoz he aint, he's planning on a south America trip. He just stops vlogging Soviet stuff
@@oldskoolraver1079 how do you know? i think he said he was done, did he say something else?
The absolute best RUclips channel, one I've been following closely since the India days. Thank you for the endless hours of entertainment, Ben.

this quote is so over used
I remember watching these videos in 2019. Never would I have thought it would come to an end after 3 years. I really hope this isn't the end of undoubtedly one of the best channels on RUclips. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THESE. LIKE HOW IS THIS FREE. WE LOVE YOU BEN NO HOMO
ii saw a video where he said "im not a youtuber just a guy who wants to document my wonder for the ussr so when im done with my documents i will probably end my youtube career" dont quote that cause who knows maybe our comments have got him to rethink his ways and stay for us!
@@ToStompU we can only hope. Wonder what he was charged with too
Possibly the greatest series that has ever been uploaded to RUclips. Definitely changed the way that I view Russia and the countries surrounding it. If only I knew enoug Russian to have regular day-to-day chats, I would definitely travel there.
Yeah! As Bald said too, he's like the only Russian promoter and then gets banned from the country. Weird he didn't get escorted out. I wonder why he got banned. He said he'll explain more later.
@@Jamesee777 It's nuts! He's literally the only person showing something nice about Russia and he gets banned!
One of the most eye opening series I’ve ever been a part of. Thank you for all you’ve done Bald, and we appreciate all the time you’ve spent in Soviet prisons to bring us the great content over the years. Much love!
Bald, you have been the best RUclips channel for years. This was quite emotional watching this. I've watched your stuff religiously over the last few years, got me through lockdown tbf. I just hope we see more of you somehow. You need your own TV show mate. If this really is goodbye, i would like to thank you immensely for all your incredible content and showing the world a different side to all these countries you've visited.
I think he meant he cannot visit Russia anymore. There are a lot of other filthy commie countries. I hope I'm not wrong. We need Ben. I need Ben.
He made a post saying this is true. He is not stopping
I'm from Russia. When I discovered your channel a few years ago, I was amazed at how warmly a foreigner can feel about this country. Even among russians there are very few such people. I confess I was skeptical myself. But you have rediscovered my own country for me. Thank you, the best person on RUclips. Peace to all on this planet🕊
Hello from Scotland Hakeem.......Peace Brother!
Intresting! Peace man!
Your name does not look like Russian

OH bollocks! Have you learned nothing man??
Thank you for letting us join you on your awesome journey. I'm sure I speak for all of us here in America when I say we appreciate you taking the time to allow us to participate. Big thank you to the people of Russia for your hospitality and kindness to our friend.
I was in 4 week isolation alone because of covid in 2021, this is when I found the channel and watched almost all soviet videos during that time, been watching it since. Great person, great social skills, great spirit. It made me appreciate even more my own slavic background and culture. Please keep shooting videos from time to time. Welcome to Bulgaria, we have babushkas, soviet monuments and bunch of other things that will make good content and time well spent. Thank you!
Greetings to Bulgaria - I´d like to come there again!
I just commented a similar story before seeing this comment. I found B&B while quarantined as well.
Babushkas ... tell him again you have babushkas !
Me too, locked in Saigon and enjoyed learning about UA and Russia only to see those same places in a worse situation this year
I rarely type comments but I just want to say... I am really thankful for you being here when I was at my lowest, I was always happy when I was watching your videos even when i wasn't feeling like that, you have changed my perspective of this platform. You are such a nice and funny guy. I hope you make more content in the future...much love from Serbia.
Amen to that!
Thank you, Ben. My heart is literally crying watching all those flashbacks at the end of this video. Literally millions of watchers have walked with you through the entirety of Russia. There is none other like you! Thank you, thank you and thank you. Spasiba bolshoi! 🇷🇺
P.S.: Please do not stop adventurising! Onward to the next country 😃
I'm not good at making long emotional speeches, but as a Russian living abroad I've watched this guy since 2018 when I was doing a project on Chernobyl and came across his video on the Chernobyl zone in Belarus. If I recall correctly he had less then a 100 thousand subscribers back then and he only had about 20 videos on his channel. Ever since I have enjoyed watching his videos, he was showing me what my own country looked like, not even Moscow and St Petersburg but the provincial towns where most Russian people live. I found those videos to be pretty awesome because I haven't been to my country in 13 years, nor did I ever have any intention to return anytime soon.
What Bald said about Russia shooting itself in its own foot is completely true and this is just one example, since the beginning of this war Russia has made threats against countries that were neutral or willing to compromise with Russia despite all of the atrocities Russia has committed, some Russian government officials have even called Israel a Nazi country, despite Israel having way too kind of a relationship with Russia than it should. So the fact that you got kicked out isn't so shocking. That said, although it's not shocking it's actually quite hilarious that you got kicked out, you managed to paint some of the most desolate, most polluted, and poorest parts of Russia in a positive light that even some hardcore patriots wouldn't do. It's honestly sad that Russia just keeps isolating themselves, for years every time the Russian government did something stupid I'd think it can't get worse from here but it always does, and this is no exception. It's a pity that the Russian government and the Russian people don't realize how lenient people have been towards Russia, almost everyone has turned a blind eye on the Georgian War, the Chechen War, the Donbass War, and kept saying that the Russian people and culture shouldn't be associated with the government.
Now in 2022 that leniency is clearly wearing off, and Russia doesn't care at all. It's a pity that it is my country, the country I (currently) hold a citizenship to, the country that more than half of my ancestors came from, is the one responsible for so much shit. At first I was embarrassed to be a Russian and didn't want to associate with my country, but I have come to realize that even during these hard times I must accept that I am a Russian and not feel sorry for myself for being Russian, I need to represent my country and make an effort to make a better representation of my people. I shouldn't feel sorry for myself, I should do my part in publicly condemning what my government has done, I have helped spread awareness to people and give insight about what Russia has done before and what Russia is doing now, I have helped translate for Ukrainian refugees who came to my school and I gave them company every day until they moved out. That is much more productive than me sitting on the internet ranting about how much I hate myself for being born Russian.
I suppose it sucks that this journey is over but I'm glad that it happened and that it was a long and entertaining journey and that I was there to watch it. Almost a year ago I moved to a new country to a pretty desolate small town with people who aren't so social and got seasonal depression and your videos helped me get through that. It would be cool if you could do another adventure with Simon and Harald in a different country, but if not then I guess we'll all have to move on. I understand you never intended to make RUclips videos as a long-term thing.
I don't know what is the likelihood of you or even anyone reading this comment, but even if you never come across this comment, I would still like to thank you for everything. It's been a great journey.
Having travelled some of these roads myself, it's been wonderful to watch your adventures, see your genuine reactions and remind me of my times in the USSR. Your intrigue, attention, education and kindness along the way is truly the way to travel and experience new cultures. Alas the politics finally caught up with you but it happens to all citizens from all countries eventually. From a selfish standpoint I wished it were to happen later but you have made a real piece of history here which you should be proud of. Thank you.

Just a kind man, a camera and some good British humor, you captivated millions. Truly, thank you for everything.

Keep it up Ben, I'm sure you'll be back again soon.
As a Russian I just wanted to thank you for everything that you showed me about my own country that I will most likely never see. You've done an absolutely insane job and it was heaps of fun travelling along with you everywhere. Hopefully I'll see you somewhere one day and we can get a pint :P
He did an insane job, but not the way you think. 🤗
OMG! Man, man! You did the greatest job! It's amazing! Your video in Belogorsk railway station made me cry, I was born there! It was the dumbest thing to kick you out🙈. You are only one foreign person who showed Russia in so positive attitude. Thank you for your video!🤝
This is the end of an era, first Gorbachev, now this. I'm truly saddened. Thank you Mr. Bald for changing my perspective on the people of the USSR, your insight and fearlessness have inspired many, and I was even considering going to visit before the war happened because of your videos. God bless you and yours.
Thank you for everything, bald! I hope you can still have fun adventurising in other places!
