In today`s video, I want to show you a typical farmer`s market in Sochi, Russia - where I`m on vacation right now :) Watch till the end of the video if you want to know the prices at this market!
P.S. - at the end of the video i`m showing the prices either per kg or per pice, - it`s not the price for the whole amount that you see :)

Very interesting! Very blessed for having Farmer's Market with lower prices then grocery stores. Usually it's more expensive at Farmer's Markets in places I've been to in the USA. Peace.
Agreed..I wanted to say the same...I'm in North Carolina for my second year , the local produce is so much better , lived in California and Nevada all my life til now ...local produce inexpensive and so good ..

Most US farmers markets are a joke, and NOT affordable. When I was a kid it was much different and Cheap
Yes. A small box of cherries here is like $10 (nyc) at the supermarket. I can’t even imagine at a farmers market cost
What I appreciate about living in the country is you can grow all your vegetables yourself. Not so much for the financial benefit, but nothing is more delicious 😋 than pulling fresh veggies off the stem and eating them. And you know exactly where it came from. 👍
I'm in Canadistan. I doubt all the farmers markets put together here could rival this one you have shown.

I love farmers markets Svetlana. We have a lot of farmers markets over here in Winnipeg, Canada that sell fresh organic produce. I love Sochi. Thank you for sharing this video with us. I love Russian and Georgian food. I have been eating a lot of pelmini, khinkali, khachapuri, blini, vareniki with lots of sour cream, borscht, solyanka and drinking a lot of kvass after watching your videos.

I have been 3 times in Russia due to business trip. I very like Russia. In my country we have nice and clean Adria Sea one of the cleanest in the world. But Russia is always amazing and I think that I could to live there in my old days after my working career.

Svetlans you have a much bigger selection then what we have where I live in Omaha Nebraska. I have never seen dairy products and meat products sold in our farmers markets. Thank you for sharing your videos.
Really? Many Russians prefer to buy dairy and meat in farmers markets, because of better quality than shops.

I have a couple of tomato plants outside my front door, but not access to the cornucopia of vegetables, fruits, cheeses and meats at a farmers market like that. Great video and info, Svetlana .... wish I could try your borshct and Russian food in general.

Very nice my wife and I love going to farmers markets. The ones we have here in Colorado Springs is only during the summer just after Memorial Weekend. But they do have some amazing fresh produce and sometimes other things like fresh bakes bread that we love to get when we are able to. Yeah it's best to get there early to find the quality and amount. We also have different crafts and artisans to choose from at our farmers markets. Keep up the great work with these videos.

I can not afford the cost of a car but I do drive a 17 year old car. The cost of a taxi is so costly. Rent is so dear 500 USD per week. Your food is better, ours is so dear and costs are rising so fast, Your standard of living is higher, most of the neighbours don't work but live off the dole or government welfare from the moment they arrive till the old age. You are so lucky!

It's funny how in the U.S. "organic" has become such a fad lately. In places like Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and Europe, it has always been organic without the increase in prices for "organic". Svetlana, all that produce looked so fresh and delicious! Here in the US, the produce in the stores do not look half as good. I am curious about prices. Are prices in Moscow or a tourist or vacation area such as Sochi more expensive than in a place like Perm, Kazan, or Yekaterinburg? Even so, what great deals. Are you planning on making pickles(solenya)?
Hmm? Where in the US did you live? I’m from Portland Oregon and farmers markets have been around since before i was a child.. (I’m in my 40s)

The farmer's markets in most places, especially California are so overpriced; they think they have some special craft market foods and they call everything organic when its not. The point I am making is, the farmers markets in Europe are affordable for the common person to have an abundance of quality fruits and vegetables in their diet.
In general prices of fresh vegetables and farm products are no big deal in Europe, big supply and competition. As good as everyone can afford and have good access to these products. Naturally in the centeres of big cities one can find expencive variants of the products, if one wish, in some more 'fancy' supermarkets, maybe market 'organic' in fancy containers, and 'milk from cows hand massaged every day' (for all I know;) When it comes to Russia especially, would be about the same picture, prices and access too fresh products no big deal, plenty of supply, and then one can come over more expencive places in the bigger cities, in addition to the cheap farmers markets. In general prices are higher in the bigger Russian cities, especially Moscow and St.Pete, but also people in general have higher wages.
@@westernwanderer8397 I live in California now, Huntington Beach to be exact. California farmers markets suck!! You are absolutely right! they’re all just guilty of trying to make everything cool and overpriced. Nothing about California (especially southern) is ever authentic or organic.
In general yes, prices in tourist areas are higher, especially during summer (in Sochi especially, because for local farmers its basically few weeks during which they have incomes which must cover whole year of costs of their business), but again it depends where and also when (sometimes they lower price on things which will rotten if they dont sold it in time).
And for Moscow, it depend where because Moscow is huuuge. Markets and shops closer to center, where tourists and richer people usualy appearing are overpriced, but in the outskirts its much better. For example in Tomilino use to be very good markets, or in Balashicha too.

$75 for all that is extremely cheap. The produce looks very good as well. farmers markets here in The U.S are very expensive in comparison.

We got farmers markets too. Local small farms produce it. Got a beef and veal dealer that burgers the animals out back too. A cow got loose one day and was roaming the streets in the city. Animal advocates had it taken to a farm to live out the rest of its days.
