Another very well done job done by Darl. I alwaays enjoy Darl do his job as he is a very efficent & safe tow truck operator. Thanks for sharung & hope all went great with your finals Trent.
Do you foresee a time when the rotator-type trucks have completely displaced the conventional heavy wreckers, similarly to how the older rubber sling lift light tow trucks gave way to wheel-lift and flatbed trucks?
I doubt rotator trucks will start replacing conventional trucks in large numbers anytime soon mainly because they are quite a bit more to purchase and are heavier. The reason wheel lift trucks replaced the old sling lifts is that the wheel lift is much more efficient since you can load a car in seconds without even leaving the cab. That and they would crush the bumpers on some cars since they stopped putting on steel ones.
@@bluewaterbottle1 Most cars still have steel bumpers. they're just behind plastic style & aero parts. TWX, the main issues would be cost and weight. Rotators have a clear advantage in recoveries, but for straight towing conventional wreckers and the 5th wheel mounted ones win with compactness and lighter.
@@agentcrm On the other hand there are companies, like NRC and Jerr-Dan, who are pushing weight down hard with poly and composite bodies. With the continuing reductions in manufacturing cost for lightweight materials like carbon fiber, I wouldn't rule out an eventual successor to the Holmes 600R for light and medium recoveries.
It's clear that they're still getting used to the Miller setup, compared to the Jerr-Dan underlift they're used to -- the welded-on hooks on the Miller receivers would have made that chaining thing much much quicker. It is nice seeing all this stuff so shiny and new, though.
If that’s an airbag rear. Do you not chain the rear axle for extra clearance as to keep it lower to the ground, and to keep the bags from hyper extending. I couldn’t tell, and just curious. Not a negative comment
Was his use of the load binder on the slack chain under the back of the truck a standard procedure? I don't recall specifically seeing that done before. Or was it just an experienced and creative Darl thinking outside of the box (or outside of the Box Truck as it were.)?
Woodworker Don I use a binder when I hook any axle chain be front tow or rear tow because it binds everything down tight to you just a preference I taught myself and just stuck to it.
He had aparently not done such a job before, and I missed the personal touch (comments) on this video. It is better when there are some communication instead of just engine hum and chain rattle.
Trent JR likes to talk to the camera and explain Darl like to stay quiet and show his experience through his actions. We choose to post both because different people like different methods. Thank you for watching!
Great video as always here in Australia when towing a truck there has to be a banner attached to the vehicle saying caution towed vehicle are you required to use such a thing
When working nonstop prior to this call we will give Darl the excuse to work a little bit slower since he was tired. Darl is one of our most efficient and safe drivers. Thank you for watching
It probably also helps when you're not on the highway in danger. If you're in a danger zone it doesn't matter how tired you are, you're going to work fast.

Darl sure is a man of few words
Ahhhhhh I can see myself in the shiny grill 🤣
That's a good video you show me more calm and content like that
Great job Darl. Thanks for sharing
Good job Darl.
One thing is for sure Darl wont be using up the battery with to much commentary, lol. What we will see is experience! Good job Darl💪😎👍
Trent said more words in the intro than Darl said in the whole video LOL

Darl's normal truck uses a binder to tie the truck down, so that's also what he's used to doing.
He knows what to do...we haven't seen much of Alex lately, is he still around??? 👍😀😎👀
Good job again, pull toy here.
Awesome
Good job
Great video as always 😁

I’ve done many box trucks like trent said I’m not a big talker but I know my stuff.
Trent sr. Is the man really knows his shit and is old school
Since he was already in the area and it's kind of like getting a back haul as a trucker. Get paid both ways.
Does Daryl like the new rotator?

Daryl doesn't seem to be in any kind of hurry...

@@plazatowing not a complaint, just an observation. I'm used to the energy Trent brings, being a teenager.

A lot goes in for what you guys do..I’m a truck driver hope you guys make 6 figures!! Seriously bc I make 80!
Any idea why it wouldn't go? It sounded like the motor was still running.
So that box truck must lost power or something
Why are these rigs called rotators?
The boom rotates.
1st 😃
