Say what you will about how Kelsey handled his divorce and his love life, but this clip shows how much love he has for David. Choking up, the strain in his voice as he's fighting tears, taking the moment to pat David's shoulder and compose himself; that's not acting, that's actual emotion.
Agreed! That's what makes him a great actor ... not being afraid to be vulnerable. As far as the divorce goes, who really knows what goes on behind closed doors.
True, but the fact is that he became quite jealous of DHP's popularity and he hated scenes of that little dog, Eddie. lol. then again, no one is perfect. : )
arx754 no he didn’t. He directed over 30 episodes of “Frazier” and the majority of them are episodes where David is front and center as the main storyline. He even said that he would have special items written in for David because of his immense talent in all genres of acting. And, he fought to make sure that David, as well as the rest of the cast, were equally compensated by NBC.
@@arx754 "The fact is" are you sure you understand what facts are? Giving an opinion on something that you don't really know anything about, but what reports told you aren't "facts".
My boyfriend got me into Frasier...we watch it almost every night. It's like a comfort. I could watch the episodes again and again... it's still funny to me; the chemistry of the characters on this show is amazing.
@@neilamrani I too feel the same way. I never ever watched when they were airing ut prime time many, many years ago. Just started watching couple years ago because they were on Hallmark Channel after my other favorite "The Golden Girl's" & now I'm so into the show I laugh sometimes til I have tears. They have amazing writer's & a cast that works so well together
Their chemistry as Frasier and Niles in Frasier was just perfect and the key element that made the show so great. For me they are the greatest comedic duo ever!
Tony awards, Tony awards? More embarrassed ;) However if it was a sport award. He would immediately brage about both of them, my son's 😊 Sport's matter.
@@notsureiL Nah, he might make some snarks about it being a show award, but Marty isn't as mean as his boys make him out to be. He would still be proud at the end of the day
Unfortunately these 2 just don't get enough recognition. I cannot think of any other television series that dominated comedy and television quite as much as Frasier. Today's sitcoms and their actors can only dream of being on the same pedestal of these 2 phenomenal actors. Bar none, the greatest duo in probably all of television history.
Niles was so so hilarious! One of the funnies lines on TV was "My muffin was stuck!" lol! I died! We have to give kudos also to the superb writers on Frasierds! Without a great script, even the bast actors will fall short.
These two made Frasier the best sitcom of all time, and one of the best TV series ever produced! Fun, classy, elegant, witty.... they had it all! Also, the respect and admiration they have for one another, that is just beautiful
I know! Specially when Kelsey says "Well...!" All 11 awesome seasons just came rushing back in that one instant. A true classic for this century - "Frasier"
Two amaing, classy actors. They were so perfect for their roles, educated, witty, clasy and sophisticated.... today's Sitcom actors and actresses are trash compared to people like these......!!
Agreed. They do! David was hired for that show because of it. The producers looked at him, and acknowledged that he looked liked a young Kelsey. The part was written explicitly for David. He did not audition for the role.
One of my favorite episodes: Niles asks to keep Daphne company in the kitchen. Niles tries to hoist himself on to the counter to take a seat, but he he can't. He falls into the fridge and on to the floor! I was no good! I died! Hilarious!
I normally discourage TV reunions, but I wouldn't object if these two reprised their roles, such as a short sequel to the "My Coffee With Niles" episode.
What a beautiful expression of respect from both of themI just rewatched every season of Frasier.. A brilliant show, I felt a bit nostalgic during all that time, whenever I wasn't laughing.
what a pairing, true class, decent, funny and genuinly nice guys, iv read kelsey grammar's autobiography and wow.. what a life - full of tragedy, hope, lows and success. thank kelsey and thank you david for all the laugh's on Frasier, it will be a cold day when you leave us.
A perfect Pixar reunion! Kelsey Grammer voice of the Prospector from Toy Story 2 and David Hyde Pierce voice of Slim the Stick Bug from A Bug's Life as how it was in the Simpsons as Sideshow Bob and his brother!
It's hard to accept the fact that they're not actually brothers. After me watching them together on Frasier for 11 years and every Friday watching Frasier marathons on Lifetime, I just assume they are in fact brothers.
This was a great moment. I love David and it was neat to see him with Kelsey Grammer again...I cant help but wonder if they really do have a brother like relationship? .. they really have been through a lot together
And just think: he was originally cast as Frasier's brother Niles only because they resembled each other and their 'brotherhood' would be believable onscreen. But the wit, the comedy timing, the genuine affection and respect they had for one another both onscreen and off - is so touching to watch. Bravo, gentlemen!!
@JohnnyRzezniksGirl The reason why David Hyde Pierce got the job as Niles is because he looked strikingly similar to Kelsey Grammer so in a sense, they were like brothers....on tv and in real life.
I got into watching 'Frasier' when I was little. I used to watch it at my Grandma's. Been watching it ever since. I have a playlist of it saved on my RUclips and watch it every night when I go to sleep.
If only I were older than 10 during this Tony Awards.... and have already seen Frasier. I would've been ecstatic to see David and Kelsey together again, and making jokes about being brothers.
Yes he had a hard life but hes a great actor. if your talking about the wife thing i never liked her and find her to be a shrew, she wouldnt have gotten any where with out Kelsey pulling strings. I think Kelsey and David are both great actors.
These two men introduced us to a higher standard of living ... and even though their father (Martin Crane - Mahoney) seemed a polar opposite he also introduced us to a higher standard of living. The writers and producers should also get the same amount of credit. They made it happen. They improved our modern culture. ... ... and then Trump came and fucked it all up.
I noticed they both voiced acted in The Simpsons. It's obvious Kelsey voiced Sideshow Bob "Robert Terwilliger" since season 1. David Hyde Pierce voiced Cecil Terwilliger then Hyde appeared as himself in season 26
@CAWGregoryBlack And, also because, like Kelsey, he is a pianist. So there was the added effect of 'ooh they look similar and they can both play the piano'.
@JohnnyRzezniksGirl What an immense honor... to have named your CAR after such an amazing and irreplaceable human being. I'm sure your CAR is very proud, as well as David Hyde Pierece, for having himself named after your 'Saturn' or whatever crap car you drive.
They need to do a reunion show.......Niles (because I'm calling them by their character's names :P) looks more like Frasier now (what with the similar hair color, and balding going on) than he did before....
@canajaneh Outside of Acting or stage performances he never has, I think he has some form of tan issue with his skin, similar to some gingers that just burn rather than tan. I think the episode of Frasier where he has a heart Bypass shows his true natural skin colour, Im sure hes perfectly fine.

I've just been watching it for 2 weeks now. Already onto season 3 and it's the first time I've gotten into a U.S sitcom.

Kelsey got a little teary-eyed when he talked about David getting the humanitarian award...that was sweet.
More has to be done about alzheimer's disease. Thank you David Hyde Pierce for helping with that!

Absolute legends. No other sitcom today can even be remotely compared to the tremendous acting and script of Frasier.

They really were!!! Their sense of humor, timing, line delivery and just intelligent comedy!!
Loved that show!!
11 years they played brothers. Such rich scenes with such powerful performances. They will remain brothers forever.
Kelsey Grammer is really such a softy and a kind hearted man.
The two of them together are peerless. Such talented men. Love the show still. Timeless, hysterical show.
They really do look related
I heard David was chosen for his role due to his resemblance to Kelsey.

Watch Frasiers early scenes in Cheers and you'll see it more.
The Ironic moment when Frasier has more hair than niles
One of my favorite episodes: Niles asks to keep Daphne company in the kitchen. Niles tries to hoist himself on to the counter to take a seat, but he he can't. He falls into the fridge and on to the floor! I was no good! I died! Hilarious!
You can see the respect and friendship they have for each other! Quite emotional actually! ❤❤🙏🙏
Sideshow Bob and cecil (Simpsons) and Frasier and Niles (Frasier) on the same stage together
Love these two

These two people are the only actors that make me feel like I'm related to them. I think about just how great they are, and I wanna cry :')
I love how Kelsey changed his voice more "Frasier style" when David said he couldn't be more proud if he was his own brother;)
