    Was looking into a DNM air shock if I could fit it. They have good reviews.

    Better solution could be modding the fastace shock, its got a nice big reservoir which means you can fine-tune the air pressure to make it more progressive. Also unlike dnm rcp2s (which i had btw) the rebound setting is just right, 4/8 is what i am currently using, while dnm i had to use 23/24 lol. Which means fastace could possibly take oil of less viscousity, to make it more plush and without loosing the rebound. Fastace actually make really good budget parts for mx/pitbikes, yea they dont officially sell spare parts, (due to low price of their products, there is no market for this, ppl just tend to replace the whole thing). But these are coil shocks, you can run them with stock parts, just do the oil change after every 100 hours. Unlike air shocks where you need to replace the seals and stuff.

    People should know that any new fox shock or fork that you buy, once you put it on your Sur Ron, the warranty is immediately voided. If you don't believe me check with FOX. Fox shocks are made for MTB and not a small MC

    You absoloutley dont have to take off anything other than the upper and lower bolts that hold the shock in...just put the bike up and support on the crush plate...take off nut on lower shock and while holding the rear tire, move it a little and the bolt will come out with very little effort, then do the top and your done.

    I only weigh 145 on a good day... I'm thinking I'll prob be good with stock suspension... although I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't considering upgrading everything and I don't even have the bike yet... you seen the new ext shock I think it is with some new addition that prevents bottoming out... like the high end and middle is springy but then the end is much more firm preventing bottom g out. Looks nice but it's also 1150 and on pre order lol arghhhhh

    Hey! Thanks again for this informative video. I was actually hesitating for this rear shock myself. The only one I've found I has a low comp setting… So for the Surron I was wondering whether it'd be a good fit.

      @@MTO_Brothers I bought an R2C Vivid LOW tune and it seems to work fine. Per the Rockshox chart the low tune is for suspension ratios lower than 2.5:1. The Sur Ron is 2.285:1 (Rear wheel travel divided by shock stroke).
      I have read the Rockshox is also tune-able if needed. It helped to make up my mind. Just be aware there may be interference issues with the bottom of the coil spring and the rocker link. the Vivid/Kage spring diameter is really big.

    • @ridefarm5528
      @ridefarm5528  3 года назад +2

      Compared to the rockshox, fastace doesn't do much damping in highspeed compression. I think the lowspeed compression works pretty good though. So hitting the choppy stuff in high speed, fast ace just blows through the travel and then spits you out in rebound.
