This is a classic hands down. All 3 of the main actors channel their characters perfectly. This is a true 50's iconic James Dean role and of course because of his untimely death :( even more so since we only have 3 movies in his resume to cherish forever. Now time to bring on East of Eden 4k to complete his movie trilogy in 4k. Thanks Adam for this review:)
Thank you, Adam, for another great review. And you are spot-on about this classic Hollywood film. We don't stream very often. The series seem to go one forever, with padded scripts, and too many insufferable and eccentric characters in eclectic stories, that leave us shaking our heads. Keep up the good work. Our 4K of "Rebel Without a Cause" arrived a few days ago (blind buy) and it looks outstanding. Our Millennial son and daughter really enjoy classic Hollywood films. "Rebel" and "The Breakfast Club" are our two favorite films about adolescent angst, insecurities, non-conformity and independence. Always look forward to your reviews.
Great review Adam. I have never seen this movie before. I have been debating all week whether or not to get it. This definitely seems like one of the oldest movies to get the atmos treatment. Thanks!
I just popped mine in tonight, and I agree with this review. My only complaint is so much black bar on the top and bottom of the picture. I’m watching it on a 52 inch TV and there’s roughly 2 to 3 inches of black bar on the top and the bottom of the picture. I know what letterboxing is, and I love letterboxing, but this is a bit excessive
The aspect ratio is 2:55.1 which is probably the thickest use of the black bars. Very few movies use that particular ratio, the 2:39.1 is more common. It has them but too but it’s what more people are used to.
@@MovieGuy365 OK perfect. That’s what I figured. It’s a shame this day in age with the shape of most TVs, we still have that much black at the top and the bottom. Your eyes get used to it pretty fast, but it’s very noticeable for the first few minutes of any movie.
James Dean was great and he's always mentioned along with Brando as being the best but I think Paul Newman was loads better than all of them, his character in hud is brilliantly portrayed and played so realistic that its hard to tell he is even acting.

Love your reviews. They are concise and helpful. The old movies really come too life on 4K!
Awesome review Adam !! I bought the film in 4k too . Keep those reviews coming.

Thanks Adam!
Thanks Adam I might buy on the fence?
They need to put more Natalie Wood on 4K UHD. This is the second one, if I am correct.

I wish the character of Plato wasn’t foregrounded as a puppy killer.
Yeah that always bothered me.
I like the remake with Keanu Reeves
