Ibanez AZ Electric Guitar - Story of the AZ

  • We always strive to make our guitars with the finest materials and parts, yet we know that collecting new parts and materials alone do not make a great guitar. Rather, exquisite guitars are made through the processes of examining, testing, understanding then finally synchronizing these materials together. The harmonic balance between bridge and pickups, nut and machine heads, neck and fret material all work together in order to help the guitarist create their desired sound. From A to Z, there is no aspect of guitar making that we ever overlook. This tradition has been passed down masterfully to the AZ series.

for specs-wise, Suhr already making this kinda guitar. But if you meant price point, then I personally think it's NOT possible for Suhr to beat AZ, given many variables put into this equation. The major one is labor cost for USA vs Japan/Indonesia. Suhr classic with roasted maple neck is one of my dream gear, but with that steep price, I may consider Ibanez AZ instead.

I want one so bad. Too much $ atm... But some day. Definitely a top 5 guitar if not #1 on the wish list. I've had 4 or 5 ibanez guitars and they were all great. 2-3 low/mid range indonesian rg's, an early 2000s japanese rg570, and early 2000s artcore as83. Currently rock a trickes out rg 2ex2 (or 2ex1? I've had both i can't remember which but it's the white one) and it's incredible... For the money its nuts. Couple hardware and electronics upgrades and it's as good as any rg I've played. They're very consistent across the range in build, seemingly only the appointments and finish vary. If you like to build guitars a cheap rg is as good a platform as any. From 200 to 1000 its all the same.
