In comparison, I was proud of the fact that I just ran my E46 through the car wash and sprung for the $16.00 "ultimate" wash. That should hold me for a couple months!
Car washes hate my e46, they attack the mirrors and try to snap them off.

My 05 Honda Element has needed a good wax.. and an automated Wax / Wash... really sucks. They did the top and or rear.. but they suck at the lower 1/4. Its clear or smooth on the upper part of my doors... but there is definate grime on my lower door quarters.
Car Washes... really just plain suck. Water is recycled, there is markup ontop of markup. I should go to a local wash it yaself... but Im unsure about using plastic bristles on my paint.
Also... no personal offense, 16bux for a auto wash.. is just not worth it. I didnt even spend 10bux. I also know if I spent 30... its still not what "Id like". Shit, if its not clean... its not clean.

hopefully this experience sticks with Ed. I'll add that Freddy seems to need a crash course is maintaining the exterior of cars too. As someone who always keeps their car mirror reflection clean it always drives me nuts seeing all those swirls and dirty cars always being shown. The problems of perfection and having an eye for detail.
I personally think that this car is not only the nicest vehicle Ed has owned, but more importantly, the most ‘important’. The quality of work in that car is pure art. Hands down the best car he’s ever owned. Love it.
It's a perfect example of a collectable. I'd say somewhere between the early Ferrari's and the F40's and 50's. Much more to look at than to drive.

Ed's story chops are 2nd-to-none. And I saw the car in person at the Alpharetta, GA event - and it was amazing.
$10k is definitely a reasonable investment considering the value of the car and the fact it’s appreciating.
And that $10k in detailing will prob get another 50k outta the cars resale for being an "amazing example"

It gives me an immense sense of pride to hear the amount of respect in Ed’s voice talking about the work the detailers put in. As a detailer myself I love watching others that are good at the craft pour themselves into it.

"some swirl marks" is a massive understatement...... that car looks to have severe spiderwebbing everywhere. that amount of paint correction is a massive job..... thats more like a week + job even with a team of people

This video a one big infomercial for Ed to get a free car polishing. Severe spider webbing and a massive job. Sounds like a lot of stupid speak. If it takes 30-40k to polish a car. Then a respray will be better. The high end detail market is a big scam. At the end of the day it just a car. Metal and Paint. To use the value of the car in order to justify a 30k detail is retarded. It’s all a scam. The gloss it university is even a bigger scam. It’s laughable. He is a good at scamming I give him that. Take that gloss it university degree to car dealer instead of 15an hour they will give you 16.75an hour.
I’m so proud of how far Ed has come from thinking ceramic coating was snake oil to spending 20 minutes loving a black car.

I love the back end of the Spyker. It reminds me (somewhat) of the old 60s GT40, not a dead ringer by miles, but has just enough to get the juices going. Wonderful, quirky car. I also love the exposed shift linkage , I believe Pagani did something similar.
The Spyker C8 is a timeless classic car all around. The C8 Spyder is one of my two top dream cars. Thanks Ed for showing it some real love.

I graphene coated my beater 2010 C70 via that vinwiki gloss-it special and couldn’t be happier. The paint on my car isn’t great but it looks a lot better afterwards and gives me time to decide if I’m gonna do a respray or not. Took me a whole weekend to detail my Volvo inside and out.

I bought a low mileage S2000 back in June and had a complete paint correction and ceramic coating done on it a month ago, and now I have the exact issue you talk about where it's almost too nice now. Every time I drive it, I have to wipe it down and quick detail it haha
At least the ceramic coating makes it an easy chore. Love S2ks.
I would have loved to see Larry from AMMO NYC take care of the detailing but, I can't deny, the vehicle did look phenomenal!
I have a soft spot for Spyker. I'm Dutch myself and I used to go to Sebring and Le Mans, rooting for the Dutch teams Racing for Holland and Spyker. We would go to Le Mans with around 40 people, set up camp, have a free for everybody Friday night party with free beer and a live blues band. The Spyker Squadron, as their team was called, used to come party with us too and invited us to the paddock the next day and at the factory later that year. They were really appreciative of our support.
Spyker may not have been the last word in engineering or performance, but it's special and I'm thankful for having had the opportunity to get so close to the people chasing their dreams.
Seeing this video put a smile on my face. Good for you for safeguarding a piece of automotive history.

I've seen a few online threads from professional detailers that do exotics / high end paint corrections and the before and after can be quite unbelievable. Having a car too nice or clean is a problem because it makes it harder to enjoy and just drive. Instead of doing what Ed does and actively looks for a bad example, I look for a solid bones car with repair work that I can mostly manage to do by myself to save money. I've never had a car with really nice paintwork though, but I'd like to have one.
I live in a farm and i used a capped internet service... I just crank it up to 1440p just to watch this car on full resolution in my monitor. Thanks Ed! XD

I like to wash my cars three times: Once about a week after purchase, when I'm still under the illusion that I'll keep it clean, then once after about a year of ownership, and then a final wash so that it'll look nice when I take pictures to sell it.
After watching Doug D. review of this car made me a big fan, actually probably one of my most favorite cars. The car is amazing glad you did it right.

Ed I just got my 97 Viper GTS paint corrected/detailed/ceramic coated and I am the same way about keeping my cars clean. But man does it look good! Definitely worth it.
Saw 1 Spyker spyder a few years ago. While the styling was eccentric, the level of craftsmanship in the interior can't be denied. I could just sit in it and revel in the luxury all night inside the garage.
This car is absolutely beautiful, click bait aside on the title, the paint correction really does seem amazing.
I bought a "new looking" 64 Pontiac from Ontario. Big mistake, the undercoating had been laquered on so thick & somewhere down the line 45ish years ago, somebody put bondo sealed & brass welded panels in the floor then covered them with thick undercoat. Looked legit, til i started trying to clean it up underneath & chunks started flaking off. 🤣🤕 Always check the floors no matter how low the mileage & clean the body work!

Ed, this was one of your best ever stories. I talked with Spyker about buying one of the water cars used in Basic Instinct 2, virtually identical to your car, after the filming. Wish I had it now! I’ll be taking a Porsche to Gloss It Las Vegas after watching this!
My favorite feature of the C8 were the stainless steel sheet metal screws used on the front splitter.
So glad you got that Spyker It really gives us a chance to get a good look at one an with your unique commentary we get a nice inside feel of what they really are like. Of course the Bugatti woulda been a completely different world but some how this Spyker is telling a great story an I'm diggin it.
Honestly this entire video is just a 20 minute ad for Gloss-It, and I don't really mind because the story is really interesting. Seems like they really care about the quality for detailing, love to see it.
As a 20 year old who enjoys looking and learning about new cars the stinger brand has been a favorite since I was a kid. Seeing beautifully crafted machine's like it sparked a weirdly keen intrest in me but it wasnt till later that I started to really apperciate everything about those cars. Kinda like idolizing Lamborgini and Ferrari as a kid but realizing theres a completely different ball game above that with Koenigsegg and Pagani.

They sure got their advertising money’s worth with this video. But I DID watch the whole thing, because it still was entertaining to see, and I’ve always loved those Spykers. Admittedly, when I first saw one, I thought it was pretty, but kinda strange from same angles. But this design has aged extremely well, and now I see them as drop-dead gorgeous. They’re not gimmicky or cliche in their details, and the level of that detail is amazing. They really are a modern coach built car.

Ed, be aware that once you apply a pro-level 9H or 10H ceramic coating, you won't be able to add a PPF over it without wet sanding the coating first. PPF won't adhere to ceramic coatings, due to their hydrophobic properties, and slickness., There's nothing for the adhesive to "grip."

I detailed cars alot of cool cars when I was a teenager, but I was most proud of a barn find flat bed 70's ford, made out of a uhaul, hadn't been touched ever (which actually was a good thing) alot of buff compond, and wax later, looked amazing (with that orange enamel paint) lmao :D

The price for a professional detailer shouldn't be a shocker. It's more or less $100/hr. Sure, all of those hours cannot be charged at the full amount because they're still learning but most people leaving a car at a shop, with all of its equipment, will pay at least $100/hr.
Dude every time you talk about your spiker it makes me want it more. IDK if selling it is a great idea. I have seen you passionate about cars but the spiker is on a new level.
Really I like the spiker WAY more than a Bugatti.
I like to detail cars, any cars. But that car was taken to limit - way beyond what I or most detailers much better than me could do. Amazing results and great video.
This is why I have to just do quick hose and dry washes because the second I start looking closely the OCD takes over and I see EVERYTHING.
IMHO, $10k in detail to perfection on a car of this caliber, a "half million dollar car" is absolutely a no brainer, you pay the guy your money, don't ask questions.
