It makes me as a Dutchie quite sad that mismanagement destroyed this great brand. All the car-enthousiasts are positive about these great looking, sounding and handling cars...
I'm a huge fan of what Jasper and his team are doing, and I have a huge amount of respect for the skills and craftmenship of them. As a fellow Dutchmen I can only say Thanx Jasper for keeping the Spyker legacy alive. I have really enjoyed this episode Tim, thank you for pay attention to this Enthusiast 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽
Just think of ASML next time. And if that is not enough, add Philips, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, food export, the telescope, the microscope, Van Leeuwenhoek, the _Radical Enlightenment_ and New Netherland 🤷♂️
The amount of engineering going into being able to build one of these machines from scratch is absolutely insane. The fact Jasper and his team are able to do this just blows my mind. Might be one of the most impressive things I’ve seen on this channel.
This gentleman is a very worthy caretaker of these amazing artful cars, and the Spyker brand. The details and variety in this fascinating Spyker collection and workshop....mind-blowing. Awesome video, thanks Shmee!
The difference between this video and the Brabus one is night and day, this is content we want, excellent to see all these unique rare cars and someone who's clearly passionate about them.
This makes me think back to when I was at Circuit Zandvoort and they were test driving a prototype of the Spyker C8 when they were developing it. It was not painted, just bare aluminum. But the raw thunder of the Audi V8 you could hear all around the circuit. It is a shame that it went bust. But I love seeing Jasper keeping them alive and even building a new one. And when he mentioned his gold one I thought: that can't be good. But it actually looks great! The only gold car that is not ridiculous. This car is made to be golden.
You can see the drive and passion on Jaspers face when hè talks about these cars. As a Dutch men is was gutted to see Spyker couldn’t make it and I’m so proud that Jasper and his team are preserving this beautiful brand and are even building new ones!!
I think most people, don't like the design of the cars. I personally think they're just ugly. I respect the craftsmanship and the intention behind the design though.
Very expensive car's when new.... a base C8 in 2008 set you back $+350k. Cars with such pricetags are mostly bought as a investment... and that's the problem.... That same C8 now is only worth around $18 to 24k depending on how well it is maintained..... It wasn't a stable brand....
@@xenax95 I mean clearly we all like what we like but I’ve always found spykers gorgeous. Only issue was they were underpowered for what they are. I find the gorgeous cars and interior is next level.
It was a parts bin special back then. Much more expensive than a 911 or an R8, but slower. Not as well built. So I think people looking for a usable daily sports car in that price segment, went with those. On the other side, people looking for something exotic, got a Pagani or a Koenigsegg. So its a niche within a niche,, with tough competition at the time.
Absolutely breathtaking! These cars are works of art! His passion is infectious! Thanks Shmee!! One of my fav videos of all time!! Timeless Automobiles
Absolutely mesmerising, by far one of the best productions you have ever made, the skill, precision and attention to detail that goes into producing these beautiful sports cars is beyond exceptional. Thank you.
I saw a Spyker when they debuted at a motor show in Seattle and have been captivated ever since. I had never seen such attention to detail. Beautiful cars.
Please don't forget Donkervoort. When talking about Dutch car brands, than Donkervoort must not be forgotten. Donkervoort actually still excists up until this day! and in about 4 years Donkervoort has been succesfull around for half a century! 50 years! but spyker is nice also....
This is so impressive, not just having these cars in one place but also reviving the complete production of these magnificent machines. Doing 110% justice to the legacy!
In a world obsessed with performance and technical specs, it's something special to be reminded that there is such beauty and art to be found in a machine. Such passion does not need to do 200 mph to feel special. Thanks to Jasper and his team for their dedication. And thanks, Shmee, for the reminder.
Having met Jasper a couple of times on events, his passion for these cars is just absolutely amazing. He knows every detail of the Spykers and loves talking about it. Awesome video once again!
What an amazing operation they have going on. Keeping Spyker alive and specialising in the restoration of these epic cars is awesome. And taking out the Spyker racecar was a treat. Such a visceral experience.
If this man doesn't know something about Spyker, the knowledge doesn't exist anymore. What an amazing collection and company. These cars deserve to be made again. Never get bored by looking at them.
I very well remember when Spyker was revealed for the first time, I was completely blown away. The interior with the original propeller steering wheel and the gear selector was completely incredible in terms of beautiful materials, attention to detail and finish and I really thank you for bringing back this car, despite is like a Spyker reborn but nevertheless it is clear how much love and passion this fella puts in keeping alive the flame for these extremely unique and beautiful cars. Of course the Zonda and the Huayra and of course the new Utopia by Horacio Pagani are the new reference for this exquisite products but no doubt the C8 Laviolette was the pioneer and for me is really the original car more to be in a museum than inside a car dealership.
This was such a joyful episode to watch. As a Dutchman myself i LOVED LOVED Spyker's sophisticated interior & unique exterior. I really hope Spyker as a brand can come back again because it's not only Dutch pride but also beautiful piece of art the world needs more than ever before, especially now with car brands becoming boring both looks wise & engine wise
Epic! Jasper is doing a great job and it is really true that since he started doing maintenance and making parts the values went up. A lot of Spykers were kept in storage, not driving or sold for way to low prices. Now the price keep going up. There or so many special versions. There is one with a special hardtop with a roofscoop, Jasper should start making those as they are much more pretty then the hardtop in this video. No mention of his D12 SSUV Peking to Paris that he is working on.. ? Kept that for a next video? Thank you Tim for making this video!
I have loved Spyker from seeing them for the first time. I have models of all the 1:1 cars. I have copies of all the DVDs of the racing history of the return to racing. And I understand the aching jaw, I was smiling all the way through the video, my whole face was almost in a state of rigour. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AMAZING VIDEO... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What an intro, what a video, what a showroom!!! Keeping one of the most underrated *ex* car brands ever by their passion. I love this. Jasper is such a great person. Thank you Tim for the video. Sending love from Turkey❤❤❤
Every now and then you make a special video like that and this video really is, seeing that many Spykers is a rare sight and visiting this extraordinary place is amazing.. Thanks Tim
Always absolutely amazing to see people like Jasper and countless others that have a passion for automobiles from across the spectrum of various makes and models, it really shows how incredible the hobby is and those that contribute in different ways to the car culture. Much respect.
Simply stunning!! I remember them first coming out & being amazed, they and similarly the Alfa 8C never quite got the love they deserved, so it’s great to see they are now 👏
It's so good to see the passion for the Spyker. I saw one at a car show a few years ago. Everyone gawked over the base model Huracans and Gallardos, no one paid attention to the Spyker that was worth more than both.
Thanks Tim for sharing your passion for special cars and the history ❤. This is the reason I started watching your channel back in the days…. Your enthusiasm when in a special car .. Your knowledge about them … Your infectious passion that leaves through your body too our screen 😊 thanks 🙏
What an awesome video. I have always loved Spykers and it’s amazing to see what Jasper & team are doing to keep the brand alive. Hoping maybe someday Tim gets the itch and a Spyker joins the garage!
I can understand the fact that one becomes a Spykerenthusiast; especially the one made from scratch with four exhausts is lovely; it looks by many respects like a Pagani, and it challenges a Pagani; Spykers definitely have got a strong identity, visually speaking
Man can endure the hardest trails if he sees meaning in them. The difficulty lies in creating that meaning. With this passion that meaning is easily fulfilled! Fantastic how some people successfully integrate there passing in there living life. Respect and jealous!
Test drive unlimited put me into the exotic car world and the spyker was one of the cars that made me go wow! And the fact that nothing looks like the makes them even better.
This company is absolutely ridiculous. It's truly amazing what Jasper and his team do, I saw #26 at the Amsterdam Motorshow back then and they're a piece of art!

Love it! If you ever want to try a special one. We own a GT2 C8 and organize trackdays with it. But it will cost you a shmoo de cow, since i tried to buy one allready 3 times 😂
It beautiful that Jasper keeps the spykers alive in the Netherlands. Beautiful stories behind the cars. Lets hope the brand come back someday
single handingly carrying spyker
@@63.matthijs true making a passion for a beautiful brand. Every dutch petrolhead got love for the brand spyker
The brand is back, hes building brand new ones!
It literally has an Aston Martin front bumper and a lotus looking body. It's probably the ugliest car manufacturer to date
@JustinMcnamara-yz3zw Well, some people have tastes off cars, and some like lambo with big wings and too much hp.

Not mismanagement only. The Dutch government kills all auto industry in NL. The banks denied loans based on advice from the government.
I always thought spykers were so cool and interesting not to mention it doesn’t look like anything else. That purple one is absolutely gorgeous
They look like an Ali Express Koenigsegg
for the money ucan buy so much better reason out of buisnes would u buy one over a porsh ? try buy body parts for a spyker
@@petekools5544Honestly, Spyker's are the kind of cars I'd buy if I had the money. I just love the design and uniqueness.
