I'm glad to see you have accomplished the goal of looking like you won the lottery 10 to 20 years ago like you talked about was the best way to go. Congratulations on all your successes Ed.
04 rich baby!
I didn’t know it was possible to be old money and new money at the same time
@@ryanwellman8635 04 was damn near 20 years ago
@@aliabdallah102 1980 is 20 years ago!
I say this all the time…as a super serious financial advisor. 😂😂 (in VA Beach where Missy Elliot lives, can’t believe Ed plucked this one, guess I’m not shrewdly vinwiki’ing enough).
The Spyker is a piece of art. These are really special
Ed Bolian buying a 2300 mile Spyker is the real life embodiment of “A broken clock is right twice a day.” 😂 Congrats Ed!
i still think its super sick that missy drives stick supercars lol. makes me like her even more
Ya I would not have expected to hear that about her. Everyone with loads of money is gonna pick up a Lamborghini or Ferrari. Adding a spyker to your collection proves it’s not about status but a real passion for the cars. Very cool.
@@huntersharddrive6951 exactly. And hell I don't mind buying cars for status cuz if I could afford it I would too. But adding an enthusiast vehicle of this caliber is so cool to me.
I think her music is really bad, however her taste in cars is really, really good.
@@axe2grind244 well record sales and all the awards and shit she’s won for writing. Executive producing etc say otherwise. Music is subjective I get that but everyone has a missy song they like if they’d give it a chance . It’s not like she’s trippy redd
Her chauffeur drove it.
KEEP IT. Nobody else is doing this content. Would love to see some POV videos in the future like at the end of Jason Camissas Icons-that really makes the fantasy feel real for us. LOVE IT ED.
Ed, out of all the cars you own, I believe in my opinion the Spyker is the coolest. Seems everyone nowadays owns a Murcielago, Aventador, Scuderia or R8. What you have there is something special. Cool factor, I would put it up there with a Veyron. Enjoy the car!
It’s because of social media lol it’s distorted your image of reality. Get off of social media for a month and tell me how many murci’s, aventadors, r8s or scuds you see 😂
@@cdula26 Great point 👉
@@cdula26sorry, the point stands. I’d say any Spyker is cooler than any of its contemporary lambos etc. Koenigsegg is the only one cooler imo
@@Blortoblorto tbh same with Pagani appolo Bugatti u dont see them too much and it makes them so cool when u do see them
Wow a world war 1 fighter jet would be pretty cool. I'm sure everyone else would be surprised lol.
I came here for the WWI fighter jet comment.
The first time I saw one of these was on test drive unlimited 2 and I absolutely love this car
I grew up loving the brand. It's one of the few things I take pride in as a Dutch person. Always loved the Spyker cars (Donkervoort is a great Dutch brand too). Spyker just has a rocky existence, sadly. But yea, great cars, seen a couple different models here and there in real life and I'm a huge fan.
Always appreciated Ed's willingness to actually use his cars, even the expensive ones. I die a little everytime I see a huge fleet of cars that just sit in a garage or warehouse while the owner waits to see which ones will appreciate the most.
rich guys having 30 cars in their garage that they never drive isn't even them owning cars, it's just an arbitrary d1cc measuring contest. Display of money to make themselves feel better about themselves, there's nothing more to it.
Ed actually cares immensely about cars so I have zero issues with this lol
@@ralkia its called an investment
Such a unique car from the country famous for wooden clogs, windmills and Gouda Cheese! Always enjoy Ed videos!
They are also known for having worlds tallest people so seems fitting for Ed. My grandmas side is from holland I’m 6’4” 225lbs
issimi did a video on it, i think it got hydrallic steering so it lotus like, porsche doesnt feel a good with electric steering
You don't know they rule the world !? Check out ASML ...
I saw this amazing car at a car show at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA. The car has such a unique look which makes it so special. The design of everything put the other super cars on display see mundane. Glad I got to see it in person.
Back when Spyker still existed I worked at Schiphol Airport. One of the shipping companies that was close to my work shipped all the Spykers around the world including the Spyker Racing team. I saw a lot off Spykers back then. Still an amazing car these days.
I got to sit in a racing version of a Spyker car at a tradeshow in Amsterdam once! The history of these modern Spykers is absolutely nuts. As a dutchman I am proud that in our country with so many rules and regulations the Spyker team made such an eccentric beautiful design work for a limited time. They made their mark and car enthusiasts around the world are finally giving it the recognition it deserves (Van Gogh-like after death). Enjoy it while you can!
I had the rare priveledge of sitting in a c8 when they were being paraded around at the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance. What an amazing car.
As a Dutchman i approve! Shame it ended the way it did, pretty unique cars!
Zekers gelukkig is er een man die heeft alle tools gekocht en maakt nu alle chassis rijbaar toch een stukje Nederlandse trots.
As a Belgian this is the only time i'm gonna say : good job dutchies i love your product! (yeah maybe im also gonna say that when I go to the coffeeshop)
@@memorimusic420 haha yep nr 1 export to Belgium from the netherlands😜
@@rogerlafaille9938 🤣 🤣
Haven't yet watched all of this, I hope you end up keeping it. So different than the rest of your collection.
Awesome video ed, not too long, not rushed. Perfect length in my opinion. 🇺🇸💚🏁
3:32 It feels like a WWI fighter jet? That would be very special considering there weren't any fighter jets until WWII. I know I couldn't narrate while driving anywhere near as good as Ed which is why it stuck out. Regardless, the Spyker is a great acquisition.
shut up
I've always been fascinated with these cars! I work on a lot of exotics and these for some reason have always been on my bucket list. I really like the look.
I’ve always seen these as the “poor mans” pagani. Beautiful from every angle, rare, unique, and amazing attention to detail.
Rich woman's Figaro is how I see it!
Two actual car videos from Ed is wonderful. Thank you EB!
and I think you meant to say made in the Netherlands
I still have pictures on my phone of seeing one whenever I was up in Boston probably 11 years ago. It was black with a cream interior and had the 4 spoke steering wheel. Seeing one in person gave me a massive appreciation for them, gorgeous cars and so unique too.
This is Ed the salesman looking for a double up. I love it
Love the Spyker content! I hope you keep it a long time and and we get to see lots of videos with it. I’ve always loved the spyker and would love to own one some day.
I got to drive one when they first came out. The details they put into it are unreal.
Such a beautiful piece of automotive artwork. Very rarely seen in action. Great to see you behind the wheel of such a rare beast of a vehicle.
the Spyker is still one of the sexiest cars ever made. that interior is still ahead of its time even today.
I think Ed is from Holland actually. He is tall and he likes orange unnaturally lot.
my respect for missy E ,who i was always a fan of just went much higher
Small world: I was at Motor Cars of Georgia in 2010 getting an E46 M3 Tranny swapped and while looking at a Spyker in the showroom, I overheard a sales rep say they were on the phone with Missy Elliot because a taillight had went out on her Spyker. Neat to see the actual car driving. Ed you may have been there that day!
What an absolute gorgeous car! Good lord it’s beautiful and so unique looking!👏
Other manufacturers: Gated manual.
Spyker: Hold my Grolsch.
Just seeing the view from this cars cockpit in video games translates how special and uniquely imagined this car is. I loved this car from the first time I'd seen it introduced in a car mag
The Spyker is absolutely timeless and would absolutely love to own one!
I fell in love with the Spyker the first time I saw the shifter, the entire car is like a poetic homage to everything cars are, while still being at it's core a functional vehicle. Truly one of the greatest cars ever made if for that alone.
Doug is the reason why when I seen one of these in person I was able to spit a few facts on the car to people at the car show. These cars are so underrated for someone that is really into the car driving experience.
My friend's sister's ex-boyfriend's dad actually had a Spyker C8 roadster! Saw it once when he brought it to the local car meet! It was definitely a sight to behold, as quirky as it is. Very cool!
Shortly after Spyker bought Saab the owner of Just Saab in Cincinnati bought a C8. It's a beautiful car, I love the interior design and of course the exposed shifter linkage. The oddest thing were what appeared to be exposed stainless steel sheet metal screws on the front splitter. They didn't look bad, but its like they were an afterthought.
Hey Ed, this car is very quirky indeed, I'm sure that it's a blast to drive!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting video!!! 👍👍🎃
+1, can't improve on this comment
The Spyker design was always super cool, they look good even in today’s designs.
Saw a similar spec at a showroom in Tokyo when I was a kid and I've always thought it was one of the coolest things on wheels
Absolutely Magnificent Car Ed! Spyker Cars had the Interiors designed by Watch Makers & Airplane Manufacturers long before Pagani which also have Sensational Interiors!!
I love Spykers. Ever since they first came out, there are on my top3 dream cars list. I was actually hoping most people would forget about them, so the prices come down ;)
They were glorious automobiles with a fantastic history, too bad they didn't make it very long.
Saw you at an event with one of your cars. Was super cool seeing it up close. Out of privacy wont mention anything with where and so on but super cool to meet you!
What do you think of the Spyker?
Brilliant. Check out their Le Mans racecars. 😎
They look brilliant and love the quirkiness as Doug would. 😂👌🏽👌🏽
Much cooler car than I anticipated.Pretty cool!
For my own taste, I prefer the Gallardo steering wheel over the sewer valve handle, but overall, I really dig Spykers. There was one for sale in Canada a couple years ago
I love them too, very different, those switches are so cool, i like a dash thats like an expensive chrome espresso machine ha ha
Been lucky enough to see 1 Spyker. Very very cool cars, the emotions driving this car would be crazy!
Saw you rolling in this car a couple of days ago in Alpharetta. Gorgeous, Don't Sell it!
thank you Ed, love the content. You are living the life i always wished i had. life takes us on a journey we sometimes shouldn't have followed.
Basic instinct 2 with Sharon Stone. great intro scene when she drive this spider
The original Spyker C8 wheel is just too cool to not use
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing this special car, I loved when Top Gear did a review on it back in 2009 and I haven't seen it since. The car was also featured in Steve Martin's Pink Panther for a brief moment too.
Hey Ed, what a unique car that is. You're very fortunate to have it to enjoy. Cheers!
This car should really be donated to Casey Putsch at Genius Garage. He is such an amazing man's man doing great things for the people of the future off his own bat, for no recognition.
Beautiful car. I fell in love with the spyker when it first came out.
Looks awesome Ed! Thanks for sharing!
The only one I’ve seen in person was at Naples Motorsports in 2018. I remember thinking it really stood out among all of the special cars there because of all the little details, especially the interior. The gas cap with the propeller on it was super cool as well.
@@conor7154 The one I saw had the same wheel as Ed’s unfortunately. The propeller wheel looks incredible though.
Hey Ed just saw you in the classics showroom. Glad I got a chance to meet you. I was not wanting to be too intrusive on your visit and was a little rushed because my girlfriend had just arrived needing me to take her somwhere but when you get a chance come back to the showroom so I can redeem myself missing a perfectly good opportunity to do some actually interesting content with you. I feel like a super goober missing out but like I said was a little rushed and not wanting to shove a camera directly in your face on your visit. Awesome to meet you! Come back sometime!? 😢😆
It seems like I remember seeing it I one of her music video s , definitely something u don't see every day honestly never even heard of one until u started talking bout it on vin wiki , but very cool unique lil car
What made me happy is that you said you plan on driving it a lot! It hurts that most cars of this level are showpiece cars that are one of many that never get used in the way we all want.
It makes a difference to see you driving it. I hope you drive the ever-living shit out of it and push it to its limits! A 360 cam in the passenger seat ASMR windy road video would be excellent.
Take us with you! haha
They had one of these in the showroom at Len Stolar Audi in Owings Mills. I dunno if its still there but this is still one of the most interesting cars I've ever seen.
Ed you are one of the best story tellers there is! Combine that with cars and I could listen to you all day! BTW nice car!!
Random idea : Hoovie, Tavarish, and Ed vs. Wizard, Car Ninja, and Magic Mike on The Floor Is Lava (Netflix). The host is a car guy, so I figure this would be classic.
I’ve been around one at my buddies exotic detail shop. The interior is incredible in person, and the leather is buttery soft
The resin treatment of yours never gets old.😆😆
Real nice choice. I’ve always loved these.
i fell in love with the design of this car when i saw it in a movie with John Travolta and Hugh Jackman particularly cause it was a convertible
I could drive this all day everyday..and i could look at it just as long. It looks like art.
That Spyker is a beautiful automobile, Ed.
Beautiful car almost like a Dutch precursor to a Pagani
Ed’s knees have negative camber, and as Clarkson says “Negative Camber! Good!”
The sexiest car ever made.
Glad to see some appreciation for a car maker from Holland 🇳🇱.
Can't wait to see some of these cars in person!
Cool video Ed. I went to LA auto show when these were introduced, nothing else like them, now or then👍👍👍
defiantly a keeper. you know you would regret losing that one
Did some engine calibration on this car 20 years ago and put some mileage on it - I still smile thinking about it.
It's a shame they did not made it.
well, now that you've casually aired Sly's laundry in public, it seems unlikely he's gonna buy your car.
I've only seen one, a Spyder, and it went rushing past me on the street. I'm an American muscle guy, but the sound was glorious.
A Spyker C8 WB with the tan interior is one of my dream cars!
Great video and overview Ed, really enjoyed it and sharing your passion. Thanks for doing that. My friend has 2 of these in his crazy car collection
“WWI jet fighter”?!
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
How often you get a chance to correct Ed Bolian! 😂
Very cool car.
Saw my first Stryker in a movie with Sharon Stone have liked them ever since.
He is funny and just a cool guy. I think he’s amazing. 👍🏻👍🏻
The interior is a work of art!
You seriously need to keep that. Even without the Missy connection it's the coolest car in your collection, but considering she owned it from new...yeah, I would be buried in that car if it were me
I've always been a fan of this guy from day one
Thank you for giving this dutch car the attention it deserves. Coming from an Dutchman. It is a car made for James Bond.
Probably the coolest and unusual car at the time. Surely not for someone that want to stay anonymous or move stealthy. Would be perfect if not the catfish looking grill. Well done ED.
I love how you said about the original owners being someone running a ponzi scheme. Back it 08 I think I delivered a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead to a guy in Fort Lauderdale that had recently got a Spyker Spyder that he was showing me and I was in love. We'll a few months later I heard he had be arrested for a roughly billion dollar ponzi scheme 🤦♂️. He was a lawyer and had a boat out back of his house and I noticed the name of it was "Outta be a Law". Well that sure took on a new meaning haha
I remember this car from Test Drive Unlimited 2. Cool to see someone with a real one!
Truly special car in the perfect Top gear spec from my youth.
Absolute stunner of a car. And yes, please do find/install that original 4 spoke steering wheel.
Found out about this car randomly playing Gran Turismo 4 and it’s still one of my favorites 😂
Keep it! It's so cool. Would love to see more on it as well, bet there's no one else out there making videos on their spyker.
Top ten for me. Absolutely stunning.
Loved this car which was featured in the music video "I'm all yours" By Jay Sean ft Pitbull. And it has been a great car from all time
