Always appreciated Ed's willingness to actually use his cars, even the expensive ones. I die a little everytime I see a huge fleet of cars that just sit in a garage or warehouse while the owner waits to see which ones will appreciate the most.
rich guys having 30 cars in their garage that they never drive isn't even them owning cars, it's just an arbitrary d1cc measuring contest. KEEP IT. Nobody else is doing this content. Would love to see some POV videos in the future like at the end of Jason Camissas Icons-that really makes the fantasy feel real for us. LOVE IT ED.
Ed, out of all the cars you own, I believe in my opinion the Spyker is the coolest. Seems everyone nowadays owns a Murcielago, Aventador, Scuderia or R8. What you have there is something special. Cool factor, I would put it up there with a Veyron. Enjoy the car!
It’s because of social media lol it’s distorted your image of reality. Get off of social media for a month and tell me how many murci’s, aventadors, r8s or scuds you see 😂
I got to sit in a racing version of a Spyker car at a tradeshow in Amsterdam once! The history of these modern Spykers is absolutely nuts. As a dutchman I am proud that in our country with so many rules and regulations the Spyker team made such an eccentric beautiful design work for a limited time. They made their mark and car enthusiasts around the world are finally giving it the recognition it deserves (Van Gogh-like after death). Enjoy it while you can!
I saw this amazing car at a car show at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA. The car has such a unique look which makes it so special. The design of everything put the other super cars on display see mundane. Glad I got to see it in person.
I grew up loving the brand. It's one of the few things I take pride in as a Dutch person. Always loved the Spyker cars (Donkervoort is a great Dutch brand too). Spyker just has a rocky existence, sadly. But yea, great cars, seen a couple different models here and there in real life and I'm a huge fan.
Love the Spyker content! I hope you keep it a long time and and we get to see lots of videos with it. I’ve always loved the spyker and would love to own one some day.
Back when Spyker still existed I worked at Schiphol Airport. One of the shipping companies that was close to my work shipped all the Spykers around the world including the Spyker Racing team. I saw a lot off Spykers back then. Still an amazing car these days.
As a Belgian this is the only time i'm gonna say : good job dutchies i love your product! (yeah maybe im also gonna say that when I go to the coffeeshop)

I fell in love with the Spyker the first time I saw the shifter, the entire car is like a poetic homage to everything cars are, while still being at it's core a functional vehicle. Truly one of the greatest cars ever made if for that alone.
Small world: I was at Motor Cars of Georgia in 2010 getting an E46 M3 Tranny swapped and while looking at a Spyker in the showroom, I overheard a sales rep say they were on the phone with Missy Elliot because a taillight had went out on her Spyker. Doug is the reason why when I seen one of these in person I was able to spit a few facts on the car to people at the car show. These cars are so underrated for someone that is really into the car driving experience.
Shortly after Spyker bought Saab the owner of Just Saab in Cincinnati bought a C8. It's a beautiful car, I love the interior design and of course the exposed shifter linkage. The oddest thing were what appeared to be exposed stainless steel sheet metal screws on the front splitter. They didn't look bad, but its like they were an afterthought.
Just seeing the view from this cars cockpit in video games translates how special and uniquely imagined this car is. I loved this car from the first time I'd seen it introduced in a car mag
My friend's sister's ex-boyfriend's dad actually had a Spyker C8 roadster! Saw it once when he brought it to the local car meet! It was definitely a sight to behold, as quirky as it is. Very cool!
For my own taste, I prefer the Gallardo steering wheel over the sewer valve handle, but overall, I really dig Spykers. There was one for sale in Canada a couple years ago

The only one I’ve seen in person was at Naples Motorsports in 2018. I remember thinking it really stood out among all of the special cars there because of all the little details, especially the interior. The gas cap with the propeller on it was super cool as well.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing this special car, I loved when Top Gear did a review on it back in 2009 and I haven't seen it since. The car was also featured in Steve Martin's Pink Panther for a brief moment too.

You seriously need to keep that. Even without the Missy connection it's the coolest car in your collection, but considering she owned it from new...yeah, I would be buried in that car if it were me
Ed, I believe I wrote your Spyker a parking ticket when I was a Police officer in the NYC area many years ago. I worked in a suburb outside NY and it was rumored that Missy Elliot had friends and or family in my town. I saw a car with a cover over it parked illegally in a bus stop one night. I pulled back the cover to reveal the plate and saw it was a Black Spyker, I then issued a parking summons and left. I saw the car parked there on one other occasion ever and never again. This goes back probably 12 to 15 years ago. I really believe it was Missy Elliots car.
Hey Ed just saw you in the classics showroom. Glad I got a chance to meet you.
