Yeah, in the game, they are Albert and Archie Crisp. In real life, they were Ronnie and Reggie. Dangerous pair, they were. Definitely someone you didn't want to cross, unless you had a death wish.
Fun fact: Albert Crisp is played by John Berger, the famous art historian who wrote Ways of Seeing - a landmark book of art theory. Who just happened to be in the same recording studio as the developers.

Thanks for recording that. I hadn't seen those scenes for years and unlike GTA1, I don't even remember some of them. I recorded the GTA1 cutscenes but totally forgot about recording London 1969 and 1961.
These are typical 1970's voices, in that respect, the game is spot on. It is fitting to the character. Just because it's the 1970's doesn't mean it's ''bad voice acting''.
I really like this aesthetic that the cut scenes of the old GTA's had, they sound strange and dark to me. The characters are static and only move a few parts of the face, the poorly done dubbing and the setting of the cut scenes give it a gloomy look (Maybe I'm crazy for thinking that cut scenes from old GTA's). I really wish there was an HD remake of GTA London. I wonder how cool a 60's style GTA would be in the HD universe. This will only remain in my imagination, since Rockstar would hardly touch such old games, they would have to remake the games in the 2D universe entirely and also change many things in history, since people would feel more offended than that. at the time of the release of the 2D universe games.
It's shame that GTAs last period piece game was San Andreas, would have liked 70s San Fierro or in similar time (maybe same decade as GTA London) playing mob made man and your job is making sure that your mob setting foot into Las Venturas.

The second cutscene is SO bad, you can tell they were struggling with some sort of time constraint. Especially on the PS1 version, you wouldn't be able to tell what he's saying because there isn't any subtitles.
Why are these voice so bad?! It sounds like they literally got some random dudes off the street and said "okay guys, we want you to read these lines like you're a coma victim whose just woke up and doesn't know how to speak properly yet"
That's actually what they did, well for GTA 5 and San Andreas at least. I don't know who the voice actors are for this though, I'm assuming that the actors are actually british considering the fact that the games creators Dan and Sam Houser are.
The doing the Crisp bros. is non other than John Berger, acclaimed art critic. Much cooler than all those celebrity voice overs they get in the recent games.

I just adore this bizarre atmosphere these cutscenes have: gritty artworks of characters that have only a few frames of facial movement accompanied with rough voice acting and nothing else but complete silence
What's everyone's problem with the voice acting, of course a lot of them are going to be slurred considering most of them are likely drunk and a lot of people with cockney accents who lived in these parts of the city generally had a slurred dialect.
So he tried to kill the twins... whereupon they stood in front of him, talked about how they were going to escape and where they were going and he did nothing
