There should be a nostaliga% where you go to the hotspring pool in the shrine of resurrection, touch it then get to each of the 4 chasms on the great plateau (without leaving the plateau whilst doing so), before going to the temple of time and then the sanctuary in hyrule castle, essentially copying the botw any% route but for totk.
honestly i kinda wish it wasn’t possible to skip the bosses, even if that’s the main reason the run is sub-hour, the bosses are rlly an awesome part of the run
@@jacksonn5240 At the very least, I think glitched runs should be running on more recent patches. It's honestly not impressive when they can just duplicate all of these things.
Speedrun categories exist for a reason. TotK already has categories for current patch and old versions, and it'll probably get split further, for Any% CP NMG (current patch, no major glitches), Any% CP (current patch, glitches allowed), and plain Any% (anything goes). Plus extra categories like 100%, all shrines, etc. But those categories are going to have very, very long runs because there's so much to do in the game. Expect a lot of hoverbike and/or autobuild sliding in the longer categories.
I just called them light orbs the whole game. Also I am excited to see 152 shrine runs. Every shrine I broke I was thinking, this could be done fast. A longer run where you could get autobuild would be awesome.
@@EeveeEuphoria I came here to say the same thing, lol. The autobuild route might not be faster, but it's really satisfying that Link can take a detour to build a hoverbike, get autobuild, and fight Master Kohga... and still finish the game in under an hour.
I think all shrines no-dupes would be the coolest category to see. Glitches are fun but like you said if every shrine is just rocket jump to the end thats boring
Was waiting for this I’m new to watching speedruns but limcube explains things so concisely, excited for the shrine runs. I prefer glitchless as someone new to all this
I finally beat this last night so it was fun to see how broken the speedruns are. I look forward to seeing how much faster these runs can get. It's amazing what you guys can do. Keep it up. :)
Glitchless shrines for sure. With the unique toolset in totk it would be rad to see them all done with the mechanics intended (Well most of them at least..)
I love how the community collectively agree that the end of the run is when link grabs Zelda's hand, even if that section is basically on rails and I highly doubt it could ever be done faster or slower, it's the perfect end and contrast to the beginning of the game.
@@matthewwelch423 also if you misread the prompt like I did and repeatedly press A instead of holding it, lol Looked like we got pretty close to the ground and now I'm super curious what happens if you don't catch her
Spoilers for a side quest at Foothill stable (and possibly main quest spoilers too, but nothing more than is in the video): I can just imagine it now. Link - beats Ganondorf and saves Zelda Zelda - "Why don't you have clothes on?" Link - "But I thought you told me..."
What do you think about skipping the intro? Mario sunshine had the same issue but it was ultimately determined that the minimal amount of inputs and easy movement was not worth the absurd amount of cutscenes.
Yeah I agree with that but I see people say it’s technically not trivial (it’s possible to do it faster than someone else) so it shouldn’t be skipped 😭
Unless some crazy sequence break is discovered, I think it should be skipped. It’s boring to watch, and boring to play too. The only thing it’s it’s favour imo is giving speed runners a little break.
As i was playing the game in spanish, i call the Lights of Blessing “Light Orbs” bc thats almost how they are called there (Orbe Luminoso, which means Luminous Orb)

I don't play any Zelda now, but I'm so glad you explained this speedrun. It was entirely entertaining to learn and witness the genius behind these tactics.
This is nuts, I'm over 200 hours in, and while I've completed the first 4 temples, I only have the depths about 1/3 uncovered, and I've got a long way to go with quests on the surface as well. To say nothing of korok seeds.
I love the name for the red bull jump, I knew nothing about it but when limcube was explaining the name I literally said out loud because it gives you wings in sync with him aha

I don't think we'll find a great sky island skip (although I'll stay hopeful) but I do think that we'll be able to skip having to go to the temple of time so many times (getting to recall shrine without fast travel, clipping into inactive shrines ect)
I always call them “lights of blessing”. GG, by the way. This was mind-boggling. I watched P5 do the early wing version, but since he doesn’t explain a lot, I miss most of the coolness. Thanks for always commentating!
The possibilities for breaking this game are endless. This is going to be a speed run category that seemingly evolves forever. Especially the glitchless category.
the thing i wanna see being found is a way to clip through the floor from the beginning area (before the intro), so you could get to the final boss before even doing the intro
At the recall shrine I used ultra hand to move the clock hands until the gate opened, but since I was near the door I kinda clipped through before the door closed
When i saw the bossrush and everything around that i was like: there is absolutely NO way speedrunners are going to have an easy time here, kinda sad that the game is already so broken But this is by far the best game i ever played, the ending literally had me cry for a solid 2 minutes
Unskippable cutscenes are awful, and not just for speed running. "Demon king? Secret stone?" I wish they were a little more fresh with their tutorial area this time around too
This may be a personal opinion but I'm not really getting into this. What I liked about BotW speedruns was that besides the traveling glitches you actually collected the gear necessary to beat the game and then beat the final fight in it's entirety. If you screwed up you didn't have enough weapons, or simply die. In this you're simply invulnerable because of 20 fairies, eradicate the hordes of enemys with cheated up topazes and then oneshot the final boss with a damage modified weapon that would never exist in the game. Always appreciate your work though, it's really fun to see how all of you speedrunners make things work. I've watched BotW speedruns for 6 years. But this doesn't get me.
Lim explains that if you have a speed buff your jump goes further (in comparison to BotW) due to a change in how Link retains momentum. To clarify, this is true of simply sprinting as you jump--even without any elixir boost, Link jumps further in this game.
you know what i want to see you do. Everything the souls games got from the zelda games with the differences cuz the similarities are just mind blowing and frankly ALot of people are looking for that video but no one had the balls to make it
