Big thanks to Winspace for inviting us around their HQ and factory in Xiamen, China. Winspace have been making carbon race bikes since 2008 and are one of the bigger brands in mainland China, but relatively unknown outside China...
We took a look at the process of designing and manufacturing a bike. It's crazy the amount of work that goes into producing a single frame.
Winspace are just starting to expand into the western markets, they opened an AliExpress store ( bit.ly/WinsAli ) and are working on their website: www.winspace.cc/

Will this work on the new T1550 frame ?
Last year I bought a chinese ICAN frame AND after it an entire microshift kit. I have been using it on hardcore trainings and so far 3 competitions. I could not be more happy with their tech.
I've said it in previous videos and I'll repeat it here: I'm just so impressed with your work. Your channel, which you seem to manage almost if not entirely by yourself, is of such a professional quality. You've opened up an entire nation and and entire industry to the rest of the world - and China's such an important place for us to know more about. Remarkable work, truly.
Thanks Brian! It's a labour of love.
Such humble, friendly people at Winspace.
Great work, thank you for taking the time to produce this video
Respect you actually went thousands miles to the factory. I don’t know how other brand made their frame but this winspace looks legit to me.
Your content is getting better and better. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Pretty good China Cycling! I really hope that other Chinese companies get on board with you for these kind of video content. It’s definitely a win win for everyone: your channel, their business and ultimate all the end customers who currently find difficult to keep up with the costs of having a decent bike.
Nice to see the great quality of the winspace factory. Awesome video. Keep doing this job to show us in the east.
Thanks for watching! If nobody watched, I wouldn't make this videos. So - big thanks.
Just bought and built a Trifox carbon frame, very happy and saved loads!! keep up the excellent work!
Love your channel. So happy it exists!
Second that notion 👍
Awesome video!! Really nice to see the process.
Good vid. Informative and thorough. Will look at their frames now.
Great insight to the Chinese Factories, I really am tempted thanks for another well put together video. All the best Andy
Excellent video Sarah! The information you provide is greatly appreciated. Ride on!
Properly good, the editing skills are so good too! Been using Chinese bikes for years now good to see some good press for them! Keep up the good work!
Thanks. I try to make the videos visually interesting as well as interesting content. It can be interesting knowing what to edit and what to keep. Like the conversation I had with Roman was interesting to me, but went on for far too long for a video perhaps.
really enjoy the informative video, and thank you for sharing. really important to have solid feed back from someone on that side of the world showing us the facts on the production of the product.
Cam Nicholls bought me here... really interesting video to see process of a bike build!
Interesting. Thanks for all the work you put into the video.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Awesome job dude. Thanks for the tour.
Any time! Maybe a wheel factory next.
Thank you for this video! Respect to these legit quality chinese manufacturers who are so hardworking and deserve kudos.
Thanks for doing this, your becoming the go to guy for all things Chinese carbon. Try and do some wheelset stuff too if you can - cheers
please don’t use this feature...
yes do some wheelsets please!
I'm trying to let people see what it's like over here. Obviously most bikes are made here, so that's a big part of it. :) Thanks for your support.
@@ChinaCycling i second this and please put a link where we can purchase or contact these people to purchase. we love your stuff. cheers!!
check out TraceVelo, as far as wheelsets I'd recommend SuperTeam me and my mates all have 2300 plus miles on em.
Excellent to see this. This is how a company should be marketed.
Great video, thanks for doing this - keep it up
Thank you very much for the encouragement.
6:05 one of the moulds is greyed out. So tell me........ which big brand/model is being produced there? 🙈
you never will know...maybe in 10 years ;-))
They copy the same product and ship it out the back door. This guy who made the video is getting a commission.
Probs all of them lol
Is a normal business practices. 😀😁
S-works for $6K... But no, wait, specialized wouldn’t use so labor intensive and expensive process, they probably use another cheaper and faster manufacturer who skips few steps in the process to make more hot-selling Sagan branded frames.
World class bike frames, great job pro.
First video of your channel. Please post more of this China frames content, I really like it.
You've got one more sub here!
i wish i could buy one right before it is painted, it looked so cool. its like a mix of different carbon strains
That's what I was thinking
Nice to see videos that made the frame Thank YOU FOR YOUR time....
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I read every comment (even if I don't always reply!)
Great video, really informative and quite eye opening!
I love your videos. But this one is a specially good one. Thank you for the work and the effort to make quality videos to the cycling people.
As always, thanks for watching!
This is pretty impressive. Winspace great work!
Fascinating. I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed to see their myths about the manufactor of Chinese frames dispelled.
Yeah. I was so impressed/suprised/thankful of how open Winspace were. They didn't try to hide anything embarrassing from the camera (apart from things like unannounced bikes) they were very frank and open.
Ive been saying this for years.
There are only a few Carbon Frame builders left outside China and Taiwan the majority of a brand name Frames comes from China oder Taiwan like Scott Trek and so on.
Actually it is an eye opener
Yeah! After I broke my Bianchi Oltre (Taiwan Made), I purchases a $350 Chinese carbon frame, it has been a great and flawless riding frame for the last 2 years.
Thanks so much for doing this video!
Very good vid , the bikes not just made in some back alleyway like we're all told on Sunday morning spins🤣 (crumble on the first dissent)😂
So tempting to buy Chinese direct after seeing a lot of your content. This was very good.
Informative and interesting, love this type of content. Thank you. It's eye-opening how the manufacture of bikes is so commodified compared to bygone eras where high end race bikes were the domain of artisans who would personally oversee their creations from conception to sale.
Cracking video. It was an eye opener
Thanks Hambini. I have huge respect for what you do too. Love the no BS approach and you call a spade a spade. Would love to get in touch with you via email to sometimes pluck your brain about some more technical things. I'm always nervous I'm gonna get called out by more-technically minded people such as yourself. And of course, if you need any parts sourcing from China - I can help out where I can.
@@ChinaCycling this would be a very interesting collab, maybe comparing mfg quality of Chinese to 'western' brands.
I would be intrested in finding out how they ensure the Bottom Bracket holes are "round" and true to each other. What is the method to ensure this when made, and how to they QC to ensure it's within specs.
Yes!!! A hambini designed bike with a collaboration from you would have Cervelo and the likes shaking in their pedals!!!
Thanks for this video, its the first time i saw an actual carbon bike being produced 👍
I am impressed. Testing part in the end shows these guys care.
They built my carbon frame. Absolutely perfect in every way. Very proud and fussy detail-oriented manufacturer. Will recommend with no hesitation.
Loved the video 🎉
Bloody great video, thanks!
Thanks for the video it changes your perspective on quality control of manufacturing 👍🏻
I was very impressed. The workers also treated the frames with respect, always picking them up and putting them down gently, etc.
Wonderful video! Thank you!
Good edit Joe!
Hey Joe. Loving your channel. Learning a lot. I want to build my own road bike, thinking of getting carbon frames from ebay or aliexpress. Any advice which brands in those marketplaces are a good pick. Thank you!
great content and narration
Hi. First off. Great vids all the time. Informative and entertaining. Your work has also led me to considering the Winspace SLC 2.0 frame for purchase. I'm 177.5 cm tall and all my bikes, both Scott Addicts have been size 54. Size recommended by Winspace was 52. They say the reach and stack are almost the same. Could this be true? Hope you could help as I'm seriously considering it. Last but not lease keep up the good work bro. Youre doing a great job. KUDOS.
Thanks. Really nice video
It's criminal you don't have more subscribers. Really nice work.
Ah, the number is going up (slowly) so I'm happy. It's already surpassed what I thought was possible in the beginning.

Oh, I've noticed, I just wish you had more visibility than you do now. The information you're providing is not only interesting, it's very useful as well. Anyway, I certainly appreciate what you're doing here. Cheers, mate.
Great content!!
Gold content. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the comments!
I wonder if the Lightcarbon factory is similar in quality.
Taking in fact, that this factory isn't the worst one. Actually looks good, clean and organized. I can not get away from process, how frame is made. Romanticising right now, but steel frame made by few guys in an shed seems so much better way to go
I've seen some photos / videos inside other Chinese carbon factories... This one was definitely better. Some of the others seemed really disorganized.
please do more Factory tours so we get more information about all different chinese manufacturers, to choose where is the best to buy from
I'm trying! Haha, I'm mostly a one-man show with a limited budget (whatever RUclips pays me) so you'll have to forgive the slower pace than the more professional media.
China Cycling hi from Miami... I’ve been following your content for a while .. and you are doing great 👍. Keep it up .
Awesome, mate!
Beautiful factory and beautiful frame.
Great video! Thanks to you and to Winspace for showing us the manufacturing process. Totally impressed with their setup!
I have XDS R8000 bought Melbourne 2012,still going strong, awesome plain finish showing carbon lay pattern plus china red colour feature. would be good to know more about XDS bike build company.
So big question, can the fit track ends for bespoke road angled fixie?
What do you think of the Light carbon LCR700? The bike that Nove use?
This video is well put, awesome content mate. I also have been able to take a quick tour on a carbon frame factory in Guangzhou, and this video is spot on.

Oi idol
So now we know kung bakit palagi mo sinasabi na "BAKA DI NILA ALAM" , " MAY KAPAREHAS NA FRAME" at masyado ka magaling sa video vlogs mo...a little knowledge is a dangerous thing...
The factory, You mean Trinx right?
I know im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
Wow so Awesome thanks for video so much work to make Carbon bikes amazing engineering and craftsmanship
2:05 so apparently knowing which parts will be required to assemble the final product is called "super-super detailed" in the bike industry.
Hi, great video. What are your thoughts on these bikes for heavy riders--125kg/270lbs and up?
Dear Shane MacGowan, thanks for an awesome vid!
I had to Google to see who that was - hahaha!
I’m curious, have you had the opportunity to visit or learn of any of the factories that produce the Giant & TREK OEM frames? I didn’t get a chance to learn as much when I was living in China.
that eps thing that they did,how to they remove the mold from the inside out?
Great video. Chapeau a vous, sir. C h a p e a u.
Nice frames (website is on point) and good to see at least some of the stages of QC-ing and testing the frames for integrity, and so on.
I think these companies are slowly but surely uping their game.
I have ICAN brand race bike frame set & ICAN carbon disc wheelset. Love em !
Hi..mother, what ICAN bikes Made in Chinese too?
fair play!great video
man how can i buy the niu aero road bike on your previous video? i went to website but cant figure out how to buy one
I don't think they have international distribution set up (yet) - but they're a very big company, so I'm sure it's on their to-do list.
How do they get that inside mold out? Is it melting in the oven? What kind of Material ist EPS?
Very Good review thank you.
I tried to buy wind space bike frame but can't find where to buy it.
😱 Can't wait to see this video !
Thanks Sylvain - you're China Cycling's OG fan!
What do you think about Elves carbon frameset?
Excellent content, love your channel man! Did you have some seafood at Xiamen? When I visited we went all out on excellent cheap seafood and local beer.
I'm not a big seafood guy, but what I tried was alright! Beer is always good ;)
Hi mate i watch all your stuff brilliant channel you got just ordered my second chinese frame from these guys the quality of the frame is topclass but i have had a issue with my frame (dont wanna badmouth just yet as want to give them chance to rectify) i know you guys have a lot going on over in china and my thoughts are with those effected but if you had some spare time would you mind dropping me message as you may be able to communicate with the guys a winspace a bit better than me no worries if not
Keep the videos coming
Great video
Awesome video, so interesting to see the carbon being layed up
Awesome & Thanks :)
Nice work
Nice video 👍
have you done a review of the slc ? does it have the dual pivot brake mounts?
I haven't reviewed it (yet) but I did ride it (up a 6km 10% hill!) it was a very nice bike. The geometery was especially impressive with regards to NOT having toe-overlap issues - a problem I often have on my small frame sizes!
Good job Winspace, your porduct just went in my estimation.
Does the T1500 BB86 creak? I would love to get a Winspace but the PF BB is putting me off.
biggest respect for Master who sanding frames all the time.
Great vid
Great result!
: Great video!
i'm currently having a project of building a 100% chinese build bike and i have to say, the quality is insanely good.
That's good to hear!
Did Winspace produce tt bike? Because cant see it on their website
The aero frame looks nice!
It just received my Seraph model FM686 and I have to say that the quality of my Chinese frame is outstanding I am sure that the Winspace models are just as good. Their attention to detail and production quality seems to be very high.
I've only seen one Seraph in the flesh, but I see quite a lot of their frames online.
excelente video gracias !!
wow where is this cafe at the end of the video ??
What's the weight for the 24 inch model?
Should i get slc 2.0 or t1500? Any recommendations
It all depends on your riding intentions. Do you climb a lot? Or do you prefer a bike that you can simply throw it down reliably on every sprint?
