Can you speak to the aerodynamic difference between the lightweight climbing bike in your video and Winspace's more aero specific offerings? On the flat, are the Winspace aero bikes notably faster? Nice review, thanks.
Great video. It would be great to share where you source these parts. I also wonder if it’s possible to purchase a complete built bike from winspace and ship overseas. It’s probably still would be cheaper than buying parts from LBS after duty + tax.
Air freight costs these days are crazy. X_X As Winspace get bigger economies of scale give them more shipping options though, which is why at the moment frames still have free shipping.
Not that I wouldn't buy one of these, because I probably would, but my point is more to the weight issue. While it's true that weight makes a difference on a climb, it's not nearly as much as you'd think. 1kg, or 2.2 pounds extra on the bike can be overcome and then some by simply doing 5 more watts up the climb. That's right, you'd be faster on a long climb just doing 5 more watts than taking 1kg off the bike's weight. Hey Martin. Because I'm in China, the channels I buy from (Taobao) are different to the channels used by overseas customers (Usually AliExpress.) I have never bought anything on AliExpress, but it always comes across to me as a bit like the wild west. I don't wanna recommend a particular seller in case their service is less than stellar. I use YBN chains and wax them, as suggested by Zero Friction Cycling…he has a whole heap of data from testing them and they are low friction and long lasting
I went down the YBN waxing zero friction road. I found that every 200k or so I needed to re-wax, and it was always slightly more noisy in the drivetrain. Using wet lube again now - soooo quiet.
I take what he says with a pinch of salt. He was selling a piece of bent coat hanger for like $20 or something lol. Too corporate for me to trust 1000% with his test results. I did learn how to clean a chain better though. Oz Cycling is the chain wax king IMO. No financial agenda there.
The cassette should be on AliExpress, "SROAD Cassette" should find it. The bars I don't publicly recommend. I've been to their factory and there was no quality control of incoming goods / materials. Things like this I think maybe you have a very small chance of it going wrong - so I feel fine using it myself. But recommending it to 40,000 people, that's a totally different ball game. Also, because there's no branding on the bar, it means you don't know if you're getting the same as me, or something that just looks the same. The crank - I don't think it's released yet. They had some problems with earlier production and are working on it the last I heard.
Now that your life is more winspace focused, have you ever thought of hiring staff to do the more general content for this channel? I think there is still an appetite outside of China to hear more boots-on-the-ground stories.
Yeah, but I'm a bit of a control freak. Even at Winspace. I find it very hard to delegate tasks and like to do everything myself. X_X but it's not sustainable. Will maybe look into a co-host in 2022!
I’ve got one. It replaced my Alez sprint. Geometry is slightly more slack which is nice. I put r7000 on mine. It light enough for me and it is as light at the 7 and 8 grand bikes I’m seeing.
How do you like it compared to your Allez Sprint? Better more fun, etc. I am also thinking on using r7000 mechanical rim brake group set and some average carbon wheels. What is the total weight of your bike?
@@ChinaCycling how do u think about the stiffness between these frame? I read some comments said SLC2.0 have some issue(tires contact with fork under high power)
@China Cycling I just got my super light black SLC 2.0 in frame size 470 and it came in at 812g ☹️ Website says 780g minus 50 for the medium. Mine is a small which should've come in way lighter. Also the fork came in at 399g. Disappointed
The weight is unpainted and +/- 50g. Even the super light has some primer, clear coat, decals on it. And whenever sth says +/- x grams you can basically just go to the + side. They usually dont get these numbers in a statistical correct way :). So assuming ~60g paint: 780 + 50 + 60 = 890. so yours is for sure with in tollerance.
Hey Joe! I'm looking to build my own SLC 2.0 in super light black. I wanted to know what the lightest headset I can pair it up with ? I don't have the frameset in hand so I can't really shop around. I'm looking to get ahead and ask you directly

Do you still use you're little osmo camera, would you recommend them? I was thinking about buying one and you were the first person I saw with one.
I wish the Kanazawa color was still available in size L...
Wonderful to see a rim brakes bicycle. Disc brakes ruined the look, the weight and the aerodynamic of the bicycles.
I love the paint job. So cool! A shame it's only a limited edition. I'm also looking for a good crankset for a bike build. The Incolor Skypivot caught my eye. Where can you buy those?
Not on sale I think, still working out some bugs.
Where did you geht the bottlecages?
Hello, is it possible to get these parts shipped to Europe? How to know if a seller is legit?
Where can I get hold of the Skypivot Cranks?
I think they're still refining them before mass production / sales.
@@ChinaCycling Cool.
Any links to those Incolour Skypivot Cranks?
I think they're still refining them before mass production. Will make sure there's a link when I do the final review.
You guys make amazing frames and wheels for the price and quality really make us usa folks look way over priced
Everywhere Carbon Bikes ⚡And We love IT :)
I’ve just bought an SLC as I love the reviews. What bb86 do you use Joe?
I think I used Token Ninja. I have a Hambini BB, but my crank is 30mm not 24mm...so... Hambini BB is waiting until I have a good 24mm crank.
SLC 3.0 ........ is it in the pipeline??
Do one that can take rim breaks and a 35mm tire and it would be a world beater.
Hi compare to ELVES Vanyar Carbon frame ? What do you think ?
What a bike. Any good 9reliable0 source where to get some of the parts that you used on your biuild? (Stem, handlebar, seatpost etc.) Thanks
If a seller has their own website with direct sales then I'll usually throw in a link (I believe I have for XCADEY before.) Sorry that it means you have to find the things yourself. I encourage people in the comments to share reliable sellers on AliExpress though! :)
I use YBN chains and wax them, as suggested by Zero Friction Cycling…he has a whole heap of data from testing them and they are low friction and long lasting
I see. I just use squirt on them, but maybe i'll get onboard with #waxlife
Can you please still link the products in the description. Unfortunately I can not find the crank, cassette and handlebars via Google.
Have a G2 on order as we speak!
The G2 is a pure smile machine.
SLC or TCR advanced SL?
Hi how tall are you juat trying to decide what size to get in the windspace frame slc 2.0 rim
Why no bar tape?
Great to hear. I'm also an Allez Sprint owner. Totally different bikes. The SLC frame is almost half the weight of the Allez Sprint frame.
What is the difference between direct mount brake and regular mount brake?
Any idea when they’ll restock this colourway?
@China Cycling I just got my super light black SLC 2.0 in frame size 470 and it came in at 812g ☹️
Website says 780g minus 50 for the medium.
But yeah. Fork is quite heavy for how small it is...
sz of the frame and ur height? Thank you! ☺
Hey Joe! I'm looking to build my own SLC 2.0 in super light black. I wanted to know what the lightest headset I can pair it up with ? I don't have the frameset in hand so I can't really shop around. I'm looking to get ahead and ask you directly
Great video and awesome bike! Could you provide links to buy the products mentioned in the video?
Where can we buy the Chinese bike parts you listed? Like the saddle and seat post?
How it feels on the flat if using 40-50mm wheels? Im looking for all round frame but Winspace advise T1300 frame is already discontinued
Where can I get a Treh saddle?
When is Shanghai bike show 2022?
