Great video ^^ I have tried to do something similar but finding footage for each is a VERY time consuming and hard process not to mention the editing, so I can recognize the effort you had to do to put this together. Thanks for the journey through memories ^^
I remember nearly deleting Monster Hunter Freedom from my PSP because it didn't seem all that interesting to me but stopped myself to give it a second go. I'm so glad that I did. Had a lot of fun playing it as a kid and still a huge fan of the MH franchise today. Great video!
I started my journey with the original monster hunter and ive put over 45k hours into the entire franchise when i combine all my save times. it's truly an amazing franchise and couldn't recommend it enough to anyone to give it a try atleast.
For me MH World was my OG Monster Hunter experience. I started playing on PC after Iceborne was release. Fortunately I realized early in the game that I was playing with the OP armor that was supposed to help you power through to Iceborne content before I ruined myself. I made a full set of Anjanath armor and used it almost exclusively until I actually learned the game.
Was an absolute pleasure to edit this one, I put a lot of love into it! Hope I did everyone's favourite titles some justice (shout out to my 4th gen homies), and as always massive props to the boys for all the hard work they do 🙌
This was a really interesting retrospective on the history of the series. I started out (probably like many) with World, got it on Steam Sale just before the release of Iceborne - really enjoyed World/Iceborne, and played the absolute hell out of Rise/Sunbreak - so I'm looking forward to Wilds. But this was nice to learn about where the series came from and how it's evolved.
Fascinating! I started with World, my partner was a big fan and talked me into playing it. Been obsessed for years now, I own it and Iceborne on pc, Playstation, and Xbox. I didn't like Rise much and never got too far with it. The Wilds Beta was super fun and I absolutely cannot wait to play the full version. I couldn't be more hyped! Thanks for the great retrospective, I learned a lot!
Had friends try to get me into Monster Hunter back during Tri. Started in 4U thanks to my cousin and been with the franchise ever since. Looking forward to you guys covering the spin-off titles
I had heard about Freedom Unite from some friends which brought it to my attention but Tri was when i started and i have been a fan of this series since, really amazing to see how far the game has come
Started with 3u based on a suggestion from a friend. I loved the mechanics and the concept of teamming up with friends and hunting the monsters. I met some really cool ppl online back then.
Although Capcom won't ever do it they should re: release MH1 on modern consoles. I didn't give it a chance on PS2 because the box art didn't exactly look fun.
Got it on my steam deck, but without the online functioning. Looks good with the resolution upscaled. The game definitely deserves some love from Capcom.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PSP was my introduction to the Monster Hunter series. I bought it because of the cover, didn't really know what to expect.... boy did I not know what I was getting myself into.... I logged around 1,200 hours on it before destroying my PSP in an accident. I miss playing this amazing game on my PSP everywhere.
I remember my first foray into Monster Hunter, it was MHFU. Had just purchased the God of War PSP and was looking for another game to play. After looking at a website, MHFU seemed pretty active so I went and picked it up. When I started playing, I was like what the heck is this and immediately stopped. Put the game out of my mind and exactly 1 year later (it was on my b-day) I tried it again and haven't stopped playing the series since... Sorry for the wall of text...😂
Omg that PSP startup Sound. This brings up memories and feelings from a time long ago. Edit: That Freedom 2 Village Music i literally dying. Im 26 and feel like an old man.
Started on tri ultimate on the wiiu. The console was starved of releases but I didn't care as I'd just discovered monster hunter and put hours and hours into it. I was hooked
ngl, the PS2 opening screen had me on edge when it took longer than it needs to be😱 I shouted "OH YEAH!!!" when it finally loaded and not the infamous red screen 🤣
My first MH game was MHFU. I dropped it after loaing badly to Bulldrome using the greatsword. After a month a random youtube video about MHFU popped up on my recommended feed about how to use longsword. After watching the video I tried MHFU again. I killed Bulldrome. After that I learned that I can craft armors from monster parts. I focused on crafting the Velocidrome armor. I was so excited farming the materials. When I finally completed that armor I was so happy and satisfied. Then I was hooked. I was always looking to craft stronger weapon and armor.
If you ever need higher quality version of the gen 1 fmv cutscenes you can find them in MHG Wii, I dumped those files and have them uploaded if you want to use them.
started out on MH4U, couldnt dream to beat LR Gore Magala and rage quitted lol. Restarted at World, it clicked then. Since then i have been a massive fans of the franchise, came back to tackle MH4U with my friends. We are now playing through GU while waiting for Wilds
great video, i started on MHFU and have never looked back... once mistake though, you mentioned siege battles were first introduced in world, there were siege battles in MHFU with their own siege maps, the one i remember the most was against the giant crab i believe is called Shen Gaoren? i might be wrong but defiantly siege maps existed pre world
when i was a wee tot playing monster hunter on my psp I was blown away when i learned what frontier was. It was out of reach for me, it seemed like this mystical artifact that existed only in myths. Knowing that not only are they playing on a much superior gaming platform, but they were getting new content at a much different pace. I felt like i was playing runescape and they were playing world of warcraft.
Arrex gaming: Then we return to handheld games Me:what the heck? Arrex gaming with the nintendo switch Me: oh, yeah right, I forgot that was a handheld. I use it almost exclusively docked
I started with the MHF2 (i think) pirated version that I needed a patch to get English. As soon as MHFU was announced, I saved money to but the disc. It was the only game I ever legally bought for PSP and I played it until my PSP's battery refused to charge and I could not afford to get it fixed or buy a new PSP.
You didn't mention how important PC release was for the global success of World. Obviously it did really well on PS4, but PC doubled the playerbase outside of Japan.
4u is what I started off with, managed to get to silver crown g rank, lost my cartridge for a few years so I couldn't get to join my crew for the final days of its servers 😢
I started with the original on PS2 and played Freedom 2, Freedom Unite, Tri, and World. Never finished Iceborne and I've been feeling a bit burned out on the series (Tempered Elder Dragon quests being the only viable endgame got tiresome, and clutch claw added too many mechanics for me), but... Wilds keeps calling.
missing the mention of jp mhp3rd HD remaster for ps3. the first really 1080p? HD char model game. It was way more crisp than mh3 on wii also not sure if you would like to mention the popular psp's adhoc tunneling program, xlink kai that made it so popular in the west. the mhp3rd hd remaster uses a new version of the psn ad hoc party that sony does not want to release it outside of japan. which effectively made capcom to not release mhp3rd hd remaster to the west.
I honestly prefer it over the story of World/Iceborne, iceborne storyline is basically just winter themed 4U, someone has mysterious scale, they try finding out what scale is, mysterious monster pops up, causing other monsters to pop up where they never used to, hunt down monster, find out a different monster was the cause, hunt a giant monster that has a wyverian prophecy tied to it, etc.
Anyone upset over the clutch claw needs to reevaluate themselves seriously, cuz nobody wants to keep playing a game like it’s 2004 for real. That shit is dead and out dated
Great video ^^ I have tried to do something similar but finding footage for each is a VERY time consuming and hard process not to mention the editing, so I can recognize the effort you had to do to put this together. Thanks for the journey through memories ^^

Thank you guys!
@1:02 wave of nostalgia there bro lol 😂😭
Dedicated so many hours into Monster Hunter Freedom when I was little and made so little progress.
And yet, I loved every moment.
