Yo theo try to get Alex Grey on the show!!! Guy is a fuckin trip.
Bout time you had a Latino on here besides Brendan papa😂
Let’s get Mario on KATS for an episode papa
Hey thanks for podcasting with the normal person and not a bunch of celebrities promoting
Shhhh como me encanta ver a mi raza superarse! Let’s get Mario on KATS to show you guys some real Mexican culture! Love you Theo!
Mario was an awesome guest. He could have a movie made about his life. It’s so cool to hear about his story. He was a young kid from a small town in Mexico, and he ended up winning the Kentucky Derby.
Right after this I just wanna put some money on the horse he's riding, just cause!
Bruh slept in a horse stable for 6 months. Why am I not surprised 😆
American dream? Lol
My Mexican heart is filled with so much joy. Theo is constantly showing so much love to Mexicans, always saying such kind things about us. Such a good feeling seeing Mario on here. He's the real deal, the thicker the accent, the more Mexican he is. I truly hope theo is reincarnated as Mexican like he's always saying he wants. Viva Theo El Rey Raton! 🇲🇽🔱🐀
This is what made me love the guy even more. Been following him for a long ass time and he just keeps getting better and better. Theo is always invited to the carne asada in my book.
@@notarenee dam right, I'm addicted to anything theo does. He's Mexican credited for sure
@Rad Ripley dam right, the closest thing to a Mexican he has is Brendan and that guy is gonna get canceled any day now
VIVA MEXICO 🇲🇽
@@carloslomeli5222 hell yeah!
Lol this actually was my one of the BEST guests and podcasts you've ever done.
The chemistry was perfectò! English isn't even my man's first language and he still understood Theo's sense of humour, that's amazing!
When it's a two hour podcast junt, you know it's gonna be a BANGER!
Theo sober and happy here I can tell, keep it up my guy! We love you! I'll put my man in a trifecta next time I'm at the horse track!
"Don't worry English is my first language and I'm bad at it"
Yeah dude when he laughed his ass off at some of Theo’s jokes made me love him more since he has the same taste in humor
Spot on! Makes joe rogan look like a tool when he misses theos humor. Gang baby
jesus..
I was worried the comedy would be lost in translation but nope, this guys sharp. I think he was just being modest lol.
Very cool moment around 50:48-51:49 when Mario talks about wanting to be just like his dad as a 7 year old and seeing his daily work ethic to provide for his family. It hits Theo hard and he says, "wow, your dad must be so proud of you huh?" while holding back tears as if asking himself the same question introspectively.
Honestly i would’ve missed this because i was just listening. Thank you for the timestamp gang gang
I started 🥹🥹🥹 too.
Mario is the man! I love how Theo puts people on we didn’t know we wanted!
Brother you are seriously the most open podcast host ever . Props to you and props for putting Latinos on podcasts ( barely ever see anyone do it )
Mario is a gangster. He basically came from ghetto C tracks to the Kentucky Derby, and he didn’t feel pressure. That’s G shit.
He is a G, but I wouldn't exactly call any horse tracks "ghetto" lmao
@@SaltyCado in comparison to the top tracks, they are… there are some shitty horse tracks out there, my friend
I’m so impressed by his story! The dude is a real G - for real!! 🤟🤙
He and Pratt are absolute beast.
Any mexican that crossed over for a better life always have a great story, its the ones that cross over for the hype that feel entitled 😂
Mario is such a likeable dude
Can’t understand half of what he is saying
Gang bruh
@@stormcorrosion176 if that’s the case then give up on life bruh.
@@stormcorrosion176 lol with a name like that im not surprised. white friends only for you Vincent
He’s Hispanic, Hispanic people are easy to like.
This is definitely one of his coolest, down to earth guest to date. I assume he makes close to 250k a year and is a rock star in that circle. Yet he is very humble. This is why I like success stories when people come from average-poor families. Idk why Theo kept trying to finish his sentences. It felt like he was rushing his responses, then I realized I think Theo subconsciously wanted to acknowledge that he understands him and to assist him in communicating, even though his English is very good.
Yeah it seemed like a reassurance thing. But I think Theo does it so it's put into his own mind too. It's probably how he learns
@@SaltyCado yea for sure. If you didn’t know Theo you may think he was being rude but that isn’t his intentions at all. This was an awesome interview
I love this theo and his podcast and it was a joy to have one of my other interests horse racing come together. Great show!
I think he makes more then that, his earnings for 2021 are already in the 2 millions for this year alone.
@@jooooooohnnnnnnybooy lol geeez I was guessing. That’s awesome for him.
What an amazing dude. His story is great and he’s such a kind man. Not to mention the balls it takes to do an hour plus long podcast speaking English which isn’t even his first language. Kudos to him!
"So the family already loved you, and then let you ride their horse." Gang baby
Awesome job on repeating a bit from the Pod 👌🏻
✊🏿
Gang
Didn't get it until just now!
So a Maserati can't even handle a jockey riding it without it's engine light on.
Theo getting choked up when Mario won made me a little teary eyed myself.
Lol me too I no lie
Always rooting for the underdog ✊
Been extremely depressed the last few days and this helped so much, just listening to Theo being his genuine curious self and getting his guest deep-talking about their passions.
Gang yo, I love the podcast a ton even before this
Listening to Mario was like watching a movie with your ears.
This guy was a farm boy from a town of 10k people and showed up solo in Mexico D.F., the biggest city in the world, slept on a mat in the horse stalls, and eventually became wealthy and famous. Baller AF!!! No matter if you're native or foreign Mexico City is another planet.
Thats a crazy looking city
Gang
D.F. is wild!!
This dudes diction was really good, he was also funny and a cool dude to listen to. 10/10 loved this guest !!
Thumbs up if you think Theo should buy a horse and name him,”Dark Arts”, and have this Champion ride him!! 🙂✨👍🏽🐎🐎🐎
Yes! :D
#DarkArts
Yes! I would definitely put that horse on some exacta and trifecta tickets.
That’s a lot of work. Theo should get a dog tho to cure his loneliness, so he can go back to being player
Or narco 😂 perfect comment by the way!!
That would be cool af.
Theos always right on time to turn my mood around!
Mario if you’re reading this, your English is just fine friend. You seem like an awesome dude
This episode made me smile inside .this was a genuine connection.nobody does it like Theo.he’s gotten so amazing at interviewing and just keeping the flow alive throughout the episodes .Gang !
He's wrong about his English, it's definitely not terrible. Haha
You’re right! Accent doesn’t judge diction.
Humble guy very likable
Dean Winchester in the comments.
His English is real good.
theo looks like the type of guy to flush a fart and apologize to the toilet
you watch your mouth
this has me dyingggg
"I did steroids in high school. That's the closest I've come to the Kentucky Derby"
This is the kind of guy I'd have a beer with, seems like a all around cool dude
Thats most Mexican dudes.
@@pahwraith exactly 🤣
Theo is one of the best interviewers ever! He has the best questions, and is always genuinely interested in whatever subject it is. Keep doing these awesome unique interviews!! Gang!
Theo and Joe are the only people who got podcasting right. Getting people they truly are interested in and finding unique individuals
Theo looks like he would proudly display a silver metal from coming in second place, racing ostriches in the Covington Derby. That limousine neck turkey jockey playboy 🏃♂️
The horses and jockeys were the only athletes that never stopped running during the pandemic. Sport of kings. Gang gang.
Yo, that was surprisingly Dope.
I listened on iTunes but had to come here to show some love.
That was cool
Good choice
Good job Nick
Just started but always glad to see Latinos killing it. So inspired by this man, thanks Theo
Where the fuck do you find these people this guy's amazing great interview!!!!! Now all of a sudden I'm into horse racing let's gamble baby
Remember his tip dont bet on the nervous or sweaty horse
Someone call Disney, get this story on screen. Fun interview. I'm not into horse racing but I'm going to follow him now. Gang.
Theo the type of guy to get carried away while massaging a horse and that’s on gang
I saw a vid where 2 girls...nevermind
Theo: petite kids 2 options. Hide and go seek or be a jockey
He's an absolute genius!
One of your most underrated podcasts. I know nothing about horse racing and have never watched any races even knowing nothing i feel like at the end of it I have an understanding of how it works and have a respect for the sport. One of your most slept on podcasts.
This was a fantastic episode. Such a great guest!! Theo seems so much more 'Theo' when he is talking to people that are not particularly well known.
As a guy born and raised in Louisville Kentucky, the home of the Kentucky Derby, horse racing has always been a huge part of the culture of our city. I found this interview to be absolutely fascinating. Mario answered many of the questions I've long had about the relationship between the horse and rider. Always look forward to the first weekend in May! Best of luck to him going forward. Cheers.
My dad was a jockey before he passed at a young age. I don't know too much about the industry but it's nice to see a fellow Mexican doing big things. Thanks for having him on Theo
I dont know what horse Mario rides, but theo rode that white donkey
Lol
Underrated comment
@@bmoney3288 gang homie
Wait, white pony.
Kick that mule
That's that Mex-equine bad boy!! Gang
Fuckin noice!
Bad ass
Theo is such an empathic guy is really rare to see. Great interview
Oh ya. Theo's got atleast 4 hearts, one for every vest.
@@brendanwoodley7567 one for every vest. 😂 That's amazing.
Facts, most Empaths are women.
not to bobby lee but thats somewhat understandable
What a great man, two great men teaching us about something unexpectedly. Frankly horse racing made me so sad as a child (thanks seabiscuit the movie).
But-Mario spoke so eloquently about his love for the horses, their intelligence, and BOY at the end attributing his success to them 😢
Such a beautiful story of his journey from Vera Cruz to now. He deserves all the success in the world.
Its really beautiful to platform someone who is so dedicated to understanding them, bonding with them, finding his family through it. Seriously teared up a few times. Great job Theo! I hope Mario comes on again, his story is beyond inspiring.
Also none of theos jokes fell flat he is also a humor jockey
This was such an interesting episode. I can’t wait to randomly bring up what I now know about jockeying at parties lol.
This has probably been one of my favorite episodes and that says alot because you always have on great guests but his story was heart felt and he's just so genuine and humble it awesome to see and honestly he's super funny too could easily watch another one with him GANG
As a horse racing advocate, this is definitely one of my favorite guests! Thank you so much, Theo, for shining a beautiful light on things that the uneducated frown on!
Always seems down to earth people from small communities and humble beginnings end up being the best examples humanity has to offer.
Dude is so humble for someone who’s made $55 Mill in his career!!
Hermano slept in a horse stall, hes from the dirt
That's a lot of pesos
My man is the grande pescado !!!
Such a great podcast Theo!! So interesting and Mario seems like a really nice guy, who worked very hard to get to where he is, mad respect. Love watching two legends converse!
I've never watched a single horse race, but man this interview was interesting. Mario is a cool dude
I think Theo found his new wingman lol Mario will get him a wife from the race track
Makes me feel as if i’m around a campfire under the trees listening to the old heads share youthful tales. Captivating listen, viva la mexico!
Theo looks like an average adult male citizen today. Onward.
Really!? I'm not hating because I'm a fan but I would say he is very un-average looking even minus the hair
He ain’t never
You bring anybody on the pod I love it 🤣 I would love to be on and talk yard sales and second hand stores with you man!
One of the best yet. Worked with thoroughbreds and it had me going down memory lane.
Same
My favorite episode. Such a feel-good interview .
A little late but this is one of the most easily digestible podcast i’ve ever seen, y’all’s chemistry was like old friends meeting back up.
I think Theo connects to anyone that started from humble beginnings like himself.its nice to see
This is awesome! I used to have a friend who was a female jockey (she got paralyzed when a horse freaked & threw her off). She LOVED it, & loved answering all my questions. There used to be a really fascinating show called Jockeys-a genuine reality show.
The work jockeys have to put in to keep themselves in shape is grueling.
Yeah, it truly gets in your blood. At all levels
His English is perfect lol just has an accent
So is yours
I just think people who haven't grown up around mexican immigrants have a hard time. Being from Chicago, I couldn't understand Americans from Mississippi. But this dude speaks perfect English.

God damn Theo and Nick. Bring in another amazing occupation, let alone a bad ass!
This podcast is under rated . Theo brings best of the guests and his conversations are deep on real life effect .
These bring so much joy into my life. Thank you Theo for giving us the opportunity to hear this mans story. Thank you Mario for sharing with us and being such a humble dude.
From sleeping in stable to driving a Maserati. Love this story. Nice guy
THEO! I loved this one so much! I thought I was going to be uninterested in this but it turned out to be one of my favs. Thank you.
I might not be a fan of horse racing but I am a fan of Mario Gutierrez. What a great story he has.
This is such a brilliant conversation. Mario is such a fantastic character. Theo, you're the man.
This episode was dope, Mario is the real life example of living the Mexican/Canadian/American dream
i was 20 minutes in, and listening like a normal pod cast. Then as time went on, the conversation and flow just got better and better. one of the best podcasts this year i've heard.. very interesting, and Nick asked some great questions. it was good to get an incite from such a talented jockey. i am a gambler myself lol... would be epic if Theo could own his own horse 'dark arts' -- or he could ask us to donate into a syndicate and his fans own it and share the winnings too. Good one guys.. BTW, down here in Ocenia, australia / NZ we have some talented female jockies like Mario says they are everywhere... AND in the UK one of the best jokies is a female.
The camera is jockeying for that zoom spot
When ever this guys goes to the Kentucky derby again I’m definitely betting on him
God bless Mario
Wish him and his family the best in life!!!
Theo is getting great at these interviews, he asks the most interesting questions that actually have guest rambling about something they love so much, I love it! Thank you for having the raza on Theo GANG 🇲🇽
Theo, you choose the best guests from such a wide array of occupations. So cool!
Best guest so far Theo!
Great conversation!
This was a great interview. Awesome guy. 'Preciate ya'll.
I like this guy, he has the voice of theos latino impersonation too lol
One of theos best guest episodes
As a girl who started riding tough little ponies in England, it's nice to see a guy with the same feel for horses that I discovered I had. Back then people kept telling me I was good, everybody noticed it, but I was just having fun. I loved riding. What I didn't know was that they kept giving me the worst ponies to ride because they would do anything for me when with other people they were just mean and stubborn. For me, they were beautiful. The stable even asked me to do a demo ride for the British Olympic trainer when I was 12. Couldn't do it, though because my dad was military and we were moving away. I never rode again, but I've always loved finding some barn work to do just to be around the horses again, and I've still got that thing with the difficult ones, the ones you get a feel for and who instantly respond to you. That's a real kinship. I've been around many horse lovers and good riders, but I've never seen anyone who has that same feel til now, and it hit me the moment I saw this guy. Oh, yeah, he's special. He's got that thing I have. It's not a skill, it's just a thing you have or you don't, and when you're matched with those certain horses with potential, look out. They're hard to beat. This was a great interview, lovely man. (And yes, it's absolutely true what he says about the mares. Compliment rhem, flatter them, be sweet to them, especially the really bit@hy ones. They're much easier to work with when you do.)
Thanks to all involved on this one. A great podcast.
Awesome interview! Refrehing to hear a totally different topic like this one. Let's go Mario.
I loved this episode! I’m a college athlete and hearing peoples routines, struggles and overall experience in serious sports is awesome and there is so much overlap. Also I wrestle so the weight aspect of racing horses was interesting to learn about.
Mario was a great guest. I've been a horseplayer for years and enjoyed this immensely.
This dudes story is super inspiring
His English is not terrible… it’s amazing! All he has is an accent. His English is perfect.
Theo von gang gang sir. These interviews are everything that I didn’t know I needed. Keep it up brotha
When Mario is talking about growing up poor and how it directly affects how he treats his son his very relatable. Awesome guy
A real genuine and wholesome young man.
dude turns out to be super cool! great ep Theo
Mario is awesome! I’ve seen him ride many times; great guy!
Dude has an awesome story! Would love to see a movie made about his journey.
Somehow missed this upload. I fancy myself a horseman, owned a racehorse, and was learning the training side of things around 2014-2015. You’re the man Theo and Mario definitely won me few dollars before
Great episode, the guy came from very poor beginings and worked hard to make something amazing of himself. Very down to earth and not pretentious. Definitely looking forward to the Theo ig stories from a horse race. Gang son.
I don't know about the rest of yall but I have scrolled through Theo's content looking specifically for these kinds of "everyday" people interviews. I love everything Theo does but there's something so endearing about the Rat King giving the "working class" a platform to express themselves.
As a current rider, this was kind of important and nice to hear a in-depth interview of what really goes on and how and why. Love it ❤
This interview just made going to the track so much more fun. Great interview guys! Gang 👌
This was my favorite podcast, such good chemistry and great questions. I love it!
This guy is awesome af! He needs to be on more podcasts
Awesome guy. There should be a movie about his story.
I've seen so many TPW podcasts and i only just saw my favorite....this was a fantastic conversation!
