You too brotha man
thank you for all that you do, Theo! It is sincerely appreciated
Clever fellow. You got another one here now.
Sometimes I actually don’t, Theo. I’m not a very good person.

Dang bruh...
Let this get top comment.. This guys name is Frankie G. I literally lived with him during a summer playing baseball as he hosts his house to baseball players who come and play for their town. This man is just as genuine as he seems. He is a Amazing person. I just want everyone to know that. I will never forget his generosity and what/all he does for his local community.
I could tell he was a good guy just hearing him talk.

All jokes aside, this guy really seems very respectful to each individual that has passed away. Just the way he talks about them and process itself with a certain tenderness makes me really comfortable when my time inevitably comes.
Plumber, Gun man, Blind woman, dead person guy. These are collectible podcasts not found anywhere else in the universe.
Exactly regular people is what we need. Maybe not the most eloquent but Theo constantly asks great questions and keeps the guests comfortable.

The last part really got me…how he has someone hold the baby in a blanket for transport. That is so incredibly considerate and compassionate. What a great man.
We always usee a body bag that's made for infant and children but they look more like a duffel bag then the adult bags that zip up the middle
I’m in mortician school and some friends who work in the funeral industry have been helping me get my foot in the door and one of my friends funeral home with keep babies on the same tray with an adult if at all possible so they don’t have to be alone in the night. I think babies deserve to know nothing but love even in the afterlife ❤
@@IrelandGaffordmy brother died of sids when he was about 8 weeks old and my mom so distraught that she just couldn’t and didn’t want to leave him at the funeral home and they allowed her to spend the night with him in the funeral home. This was 1983 and in a very small town (jackson TN).
These episodes with regular people are hands down the best so real and not forced
Also, bless this man for having an answer to everyone of Theo’s questions, no matter how silly.

My grandpa passed in October of 2020. I am unbelievably grateful to the morticians who worked on him and worked with our family. He had an open-casket funeral and looked like he was asleep, so much so I wanted to jump in the casket and shake him awake. He was buried in his favorite shirt, blue jeans, and his favorite cowboy boots. He had his reading glasses in his shirt pocket, his favorite cowboy hat on his chest, and his dog's (who had died a month or so before him) cremains at his feet in the casket. He had a wonderful veteran service and I'll never forget it. God bless Frank and all those who work with the dead and the grieving families.
What a great way to go...that was so thoughtful of the family and the funeral director...what a blessing...im so sorry for your loss...you'll see him again one day..
The glasses in the pocket is a beautiful touch! Sounds like a great guy!
God Bless your Grandpa. I’m glad you had good services that made a difficult time that much easier! My Grandma died back in September of last year, she was 101 yrs old. Our family also had good service from our morticians. That makes so much of a difference in your time of need. God Bless you and your family Brother!
My son was stillborn so I was in the same scenario discussed at the end - I never wanted to put much thought into his transportation from the hospital to the funeral home, but hearing him talk with such compassion and respect got me. I can only hope he was taken care of by someone as kind as you, Frankie. Thank you.
That's so heartbreaking 😢
We had a son stillborn 5 years ago. There’s a wonderful organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep that came and arranged and took some wonderful photographs. It really helped. My boys’ name was Marmaduke.
@@Acemechanicalservices July 3rd was the 9 year mark for my sweet boy, Oliver. I’ve never heard of that organization, but I’ll definitely look them up to at least tell others about them! I was in such a state of shock, I didn’t get any pictures of him while I got to hold him. The nurses were so, so caring and took some photos of him all bundled up and gave them to me, though! My most prized possessions! 💞
@@opalwzrd I'm sorry for your loss, may god rest his innocent soul.
I think people that work these jobs are truly the best people. They are faced with real situations everyday, no time for BS. They know that life is sacred and we should all remember that.
Easy for us regulars to forget in everyday life.
Theo using “farm to table” as a metaphor for a body going from the crime scene to the funeral home is too funny
Spot on too 😂
Lost my shit with that.

Too good!
One of about 500 lines that made me laugh out loud in this one.
I like Theo's approach of bringing in regular folks to be on the podcast. There's tons of people out there with engaging personalities and experiences, not just celebrities.
Even more engaging to me since they have such real lives! What they have to say is THEM it is not to “please” the public

2:06:47 The baby story 😢
Theo handled this so well; no jokes. When it comes to the tiniest most helpless it's very serious 💔 Thank you for sharing this very difficult story 😢 I'll never forget when I had a c-section, my 1st and only baby and was up walking around as soon as possible and I noticed a specific wing decorated with butterflies above and around the doors. I finally asked a nurse very quietly why there were doors with butterflies and signs to be very quiet... she softly told me, "Those rooms are for mothers who have just lost a baby or the baby is dying." I didn't say a word as tears poured out of my eyes and down my cheeks... the nurse grabbed a tissue out of her pocket wiped my cheeks and quietly said, "Good job walking; go love on your healthy baby." ❤😢❤ My heart was so very heavy. I made sure to explain to my husband what the butterflies and quiet signs were for. Bless all the mothers who've lost a baby; I'm so sorry 💔😢
Do you happen to remember if the butterflys were a certain color like blue or just random colors
Dang.. can only imagine.

It's interesting hearing all the details from this mortician as a Muslim because as part of our religion we don't do any embalming or cosmetics after death. Once dead, the body is washed in a particular way by the closest family members of the same sex as soon as possible and the deceased is buried in a plain pine coffin, generally and ideally within 24 hours. All of the funeral ceremony and viewing is basically combined into one ceremony where the family and friends do a prayer, view the body and then the body is taken directly to the graveyard. Tbh I'm not exactly sure why there's no embalming other than so the body can decompose naturally and go back into the earth over the time. As the funerals and viewings are done within 24hrs there really isn't any need for keeping the body viable for viewings for several days or even a week or more - which I've seen happen in several funerals for various types of Christians and a reformed Jewish family as well ... Very interesting stuff for some reason lol
@@MoAli-wm4of nice to know honestly
@@MoAli-wm4of it used to be the same way here in the US but the death industry has taken over. I believe that's why people in the West view death in such a taboo way. We are no longer close to it. Back in the day the family would wash the body, have the service in their home (this was what the living room used to be used for) then they would be buried in a simple pine box.
Theo & Frank are a natural combo. This was a dark arts finish line hitter.
Clean up batter
It's clear that he has to be detached when dealing with death every day. Yet still have feelings when dealing with the living relatives. Great guest Theo.
