I'm from Manila. In my family, we have a similar salad with onions, tomatoes, roasted eggplant, cucumber, olive oil, soy sauce, and calamansi (Philippine lime). It's good with crisp fried fish ❤
We call it kochjholl in eastern india with extra indigenous spices, stems of water lilies ,lotus seeds ,mustard oil and scented oil of barukumbi flower it really gives a Restaurant like vibe.

Made this last night after watching this video it turned out great . I used cucumber, tomatoes, onions, fresh chopped garlic, oil, vinegar, lime juice, salt, pepper, oregano & Italian seasoning
Fantastic! Thanks for this. It might not be complicated from the outset, but when we have this from an Arab household, we keep thinking as to what went into it to make it this awesome. Thank you again. This is a favorite of mine.
We make a salad that is very similar pico de gallo as well! It's on my site as "salata falahiyeh" - farmers style salad. Instead of lime and cilantro, we use lemon and parsley. So many similarities with our food!
That’s not pico de gallo. Just cause it looks like it, it doesn’t mean it’s the same. Pico de gallo only has tomato, onion, jalapeño and cilantro and lime juice. So just stop
This is not Pico de Gallo. While this dish has chopped tomato and onion in it, the addition of cucumber, mint, lemon juice, olive oil, etc. give it a different flavor profile than a Mexican salsa
@@TheBitewithJackie Wow!! I’ve been making this salad for years, for the Israelí family I work with. In addition to the cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and parsley, I sometimes change it up and add corn, radishes, carrots, beets and cilantro (with lemon&olive dressing). We definitely have sumac in the spice cabinet 😊 Thanks for the other suggestions and for sharing your posts!!
We make this exact salad but sometimes we add beans or chickpeas to make it more filling. Also, we like to add pomegranate molasses to the dressing 🤌🤌🤌🤌😋
This looks great! Growing up, my parents made it with cucumbers, tomatoes, salt, pepper, parsley, and lemon juice. I personally like to add cilantro and a little bit of lettuce too!

Even if you don’t have everything, simply dicing tomato & cucumber tiny like this, with cilantro a little salt, a little vinegar olive oil and a squeeze of lemon if you have it👌 chefs Kiss! I was about to say that, Pakistani and Indians make this salad. I'm from a Punjabi background and we make this salad with raita on the side. It's yogurt with mint chutney blended together. It's best with biryani, simple salad, and raita. The raita helps cool down the heat from the biryani. Bon appetit 😋
I have done quite similar salad (don't even remember how many years). I add some chickpeas and sometimes also couscous. Every versions of this salad is so DELICIOUS! 😋👌
In Russia we call it Cucumber and Tomato (=Ogurchik i Pomidorka) and it is by far the most commonly eaten salad. We often add onion, bell pepper, radishes and any fresh herbs that we like. In summer it drowns in herbs from the garden, so we call this variety "summer salad". We usually use salt and extravirgin sunflower oil or extravirgin olive oil, sometimes lemons and hot pepper and very rarely vinegar or spices. It's my favourite!
