- After 3.5 days of sailing, in the dark and with magnificent views we reached Gibraltar. Technically we are still in Spain - Marina Alcadeisa - as it’s cheaper and easier without check-in and walking distance from Gibraltar. After some damage, that occurred during the passage is fixed, we are off to explore - THE ROCK :))
It was truly impressive - and so much to see - from the top of the world views, very entertaining Barbary macaques to St Michael's Cave and way more…
And after all is done we are on a quick hm… controversial mission - but you will have to watch to find out…

I took Ken's advice, I called triple aaa and canceled my insurance then I went outside and found myself a big rock 🪨 and put it in my truck. I just saved myself $600.00 a year. THANKS KEN 😂

Yes, all the local sailors told us to carry the firecrackers. So, we did. Didn't need them, but we were glad to have them, just in case. Happy Holidays! Hope you and your family have a wonderful New Year...

I heard monkeys can be aggressive, but we take very good care to stay away from them. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.

You sure are fortunate in the timing of your sailing journeys! A year ago you were sailing up the Red Sea to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Now, the Red Sea is basically closed to shipping and I’m sure that sailboats are being urged not to transit this area. I’m pretty sure your insurance company’s premiums would be high if they knew you were in this area.

Sadly, couldn’t agree more. We spoke about that with our friends as well. Everything changes…
You are much better of staying in Alcaidesa marina, the facilities are better than Gibraltar and you don’t get contaminated diesel there. I recommend staying out of Gibraltar as it’s pretty dirty and chavvy. The restaurants in Spain are simply superb and service is excellent, sadly the ones across the border apart from Biancas are garbage. Don’t get any repair work done in Gibraltar either the yards are renowned for shoddy work. Enjoy Spain!
