The 757, by far my most favourite passenger jet. It looks just right and has always given me a comfortable flight to where I need to go. Those Rolls Royce RB211s are beasts. LOVE that buzzsaw sound on take off.

I flew on a 767 in 91 from Birmingham to Orlando. At 8 years old I saw two things that kids will never see again: a working cockpit and a smoking section!

So sad that my kids will never be able to see the cockpit of an aircraft in flight ☹️ Saw the pilot every flight when I was a kid. Remember going on the flight deck with my brother and sister on a flight to Orlando. It was a BA 747-200 and it was quite a squeeze with 3 kids, the pilot, co pilot and flight engineer!

I was cabin crew for this great airline based at Gatwick in 1995-1996. Fantastic memories, and fantastic training up at Castle Donnington. Still have my Britannia photo album to look back on with great fondness, and my wings which doubled up as our name badge.

I flew with Britannia Airways between London Luton Airport and Malaga in December 1995. This was my first flight since August 1986. The staff on board the flight were brilliant. I haven't flown to Malaga since then, but that flight and the professionalism of the staff will always stay in my mind. This is a good video, too!

Happy memories ... I worked for Britannia for a couple-of-years in the early-90s ... they were a great team of people and it was always a thrill, working with people on holiday, and the romance of travel did still exist back then. I actually worked on the financial-side, of buying/leasing the first fleet of six B757-200s, they were a great aircraft for the charter-airline industry, and Britannia was perhaps a bit slow to spot that, previously we'd had B737-200s (plus a couple of -300s from the Orian Air takeover) and B767-200s. We maximised the aircraft-use, ideally getting three return-trips from them every 24-hours, and in winter (when demand was much lower) we were working to develop long-haul to the USA & Australia/New-Zealand.

Fanny Fflapz admittedly I don’t work in aviation, but am well versed for a non flyer: these days the T’s & C’s have been eroded, and I’ve spoken to crew at a very Big Airline who say things like the EASA FTLs and the mixed fleet contract have ruined it for certainly the Cabin Crew. I say crew because I hate the term steward(ess) - acquiescing to pax melancholy whims is about 10% of their job. They know sooooooo much more than people think.
Anyway, I can see both sides of the argument; there’s room for both opinions 😃

Flew Luton to Perth, Western Australia with Britannia on a B767 in January 1990. Refuelled/restocked at Bahrain and Singapore on the way. It was my first long haul flight and was a route that Britannia had on recently taken on. Was a fantastic flight. Great goody bag and I remember the stewardess giving me half a bottle of red to finish (I'd drunk the first half). Good memories.

Im petrified of flying . I am 42, and have only ever flown to and from Malta and Majorca , malta in 1988 and and majorca in 1989 aged 7 and 8.Both times i flew with Britannia. The logos, the furnishing, the professionalism of the staff and everything ive seen in this video is burnt in my mind forever. I remember the cabin staff obviously realised how scared i was and allowed me into the cabin without my mum to put my mind at rest. That was the only time i have ever flown and been completely at ease. I remember the pilot saying "dont press any buttons" i said "i wont" the crew then all burst out laughing. I am now a plane nerd and know a lot of technical stuff about planes , mechanically and otherwise, despite currently not being of the belief planes are technologically advanced enough still to be safe to relaibly fly. Maybe in another 20 years. In the meantime, easyjet, ryanair and all those other budget operators need to take a leaf out of britannias book when it comes to customer service.
Shame to hear there not about anymore and obviously wernt earning any money as this video shows.
