Great video Gerry , Insp Paddy Keeffe at Mallow and Dermot Mullane opening the gates at Banteer.
Excellent Shots from the Good Old Days Gerry!😃.
What train was at 02:20. I've never seen it before
Enjoyable I must say
Interesting short ammonia with two tanks hauled by a single GM, just shows anything could run.
Nice view of the Shale wagons right before the end
At least they were proper trains back then, not the miserable looking trains we have nowadays. If only we I could go back to them great old days?
What's the smoke coming off the rails around 21:20?
Gerry, the last coal and oil ran in 1997? I know they rerouted the train via Portarlington from 91-94. From 94-97 it went via Limerick and Athenry.
That was the last oil train to Connolly Shed. Thank for the information.
Interesting to see a Galway service with 9 coaches. Down to 5 now at most with the 22000 class.
EXCELLENT PHOTAGE CHEERS
Any idea if the push pulls in Portarlington were specials or scheduled?
Hi I would say specials but seen the Ammonia train running, that didn't run on Sundays iam no 100% sure. It's was a long time ago. I'll try and find out. Thanks and enjoy the videos. Gerry
Hi again. The Push Pulls were football specials. Gerry
@@gerryconmy Thanks a lot for clarifying Gerry.
