- I am in shock about Dave Mirra's death. I am so confused and I decided to make this video in attempt to clear my head and make sense of what happened yesterday. I feel terrible for Dave, and I feel terrible for his family. Dave is the greatest BMX rider of all time and has been my personal favorite since the beginning. this is just too sad..

On a separate note, addressing the comments you made about showing appreciation for people whilst they're here, I should mention that your videos have been a pleasure to watch. I was going through a pretty dark time over Christmas, and sitting here watching your videos kept me in a good place. It's the little things that get people through rough patches, and your videos did enough to keep a smile on my face at a time when that is exactly what I needed. So thank you, for helping me without knowing or meaning to. You made a difference.

well Said Scotty, I feel the very same, Since I started riding in 98 and bought my first Dave Mirra Bike, I have bought one every single year since then when ever I see Dave on a New bike I had to have that bike. If Dave Changed colors I changed colors, got lucky to get his very last haro he road in late 2005 that he Auctiond off for ( Hurricane Katrina victims ) He rasied good money to help those in Need. Later on when he got his on powder coat paint booth, I said Oh man how am I gonna keep up now lol. Road with him 1 time and met him a hand full of times, He was a Super Awesome nice guy. So Saddin'd to hear the News Deeply ! I really hope his family gets through this very tough time. I wear his Mirraco Shirts every day In honor of Him !

Dave Mirra was a legend. He will never be forgotten. Thanks for your heartfelt tribute to Dave.
Dave Mirra was nothing short of legendary. Pushed our sport to limits never witnessed. As long as bikes travel through the air he will never be forgotten.
Very Mature and respectful upload. I know it's rough position to be an ambassador for the lifestyle of BMX. I'm sure part of you wanted to just cry and process this on your own, like a lot of us have. And I'm sure another part of you felt the responsibility to speak to the BMX community. So, thank you for sharing and thank you for continuing what makes BMX so special.
dude scotty you always reminded me of dave mirra... i tell my wife all the time "he reminds me of the bmxer that got me started riding... im still riding his 2003 mirra flair... im waiting right now for ups to bring me my new bike i just got from danscomp its wierd that ive been riding his signature haro for 13 yrs and the day he dies i get a new one i went and bought a gopro so i can do an unboxing and also a bike check on my 2003 haro mirra flair... idk really what im doing but ill post the video for the bmx community and share my piece of dave ill always have... this sucks man... thanks for the video i enjoyed it...

Very well said Scotty. Dave was the reason I picked up a bmx in high school. I looked forward to seeing all my teammates on practice days (Mikes Bike Team) and talking about what Dave has done new and how he does it. I meet Dave a couple of times and had the honor of street riding with him in our hometown of Syracuse NY. It was so cool just to talk about all his accomplishments and try to be like him. The best pair of shoes I ever owned were Mirra's by DC. With his death I found out that he is my aunts cousin. All these years and I never knew.
This is the video that helped me find your channel last year. Sad day to see one of my favorites go out like that. Broke my heart. My son looks up to you like I looked up to Mirra. Well said and I pray for you as well Scotty. Be safe and get back on that bike asap..
Scotty I could only say I have so much respect for you as a person and even more after I seen this video. Sitting here watching Dave Mirra videos and how much he contributed to bmx and so much more. Excellent video!
Thank you for the words Scotty, it's been hard for me to reflect on the greatness of dave in the wake of the incident cause I've been overwhelmed with sadness. This was so sincere an well worded that it gave me the calming to come to terms with it and move on with only his greatness in mind. I've only met him a couple times but his impact on my life was enormous, as it was to many others. Cheers Scotty
im so sad,dude! 😢 came home from riding yesterday, to find out about this terrible news... didnt want to believe it! i did the same you did, until the news was all over the world! even here! im still sad and i cant even imagine the people that met hin and rode with him feel. i thought about you and your "sentenced to life" part... i Think about Nyquist! I used to watch their vhs very day! he was a big part of my motivation for ridin growing up!.... we might never know why but... legends never die!. Tomorrows session is for him! 💪 Saludos,Scotty!
thanks for postin scotty really hard to watch man dave is still a legend mate in my eyes and plenty of other riders round the world just made me think of how much his riding connected people and inspired them.
I miss dave, he lived right around the corner! It was nothing to run into him at starbucks
