      Upon his return to Assisi, Pietro took to calling his son Francesco ("the Frenchman"), possibly in honor of his commercial success and enthusiasm for all things French.[16] Since the child was renamed in infancy, the change can hardly have had anything to do with his aptitude for learning French, as some have thought.[2

    How to be a saint?I was reading that it lies in “the moments”. We can all engage with the moment and holiness,or presence of God if we develop moment to moment awareness.
    it is nice to realise we can be a saint for a moment ,instead of thinking it is all beyond us and that saints are a special breed ,doing something unattainable for us lesser mortals.

    Thank you brothers got me thinking today , the times set when everyone is to pray , would you consider this prayer being in the flesh or in the spirit.
    For example scripture says in John 14 verse 17 .
    The spirit of God , Holy Spirit dwells within in us joined together as one .1 Corinthians 6 v17
    The BELL calling us all to prayer cannot be the one which our ears hear , that would be of our flesh , but rather the real bell should constantly be ringing within our spirit not of ourselves , but from the Holy Spirit within us urging us through the love of God almighty to prayer.

I’ve been really concentrating this lent on the Lord’s will and my cooperation with him. And here you are talking about what I need to hear! Somebody left a booklet in the back of the church written by St Alphonse Liguori titled “Uniformity With God’s Will”, a Great read, and Father Groshel’s comment to Brother Malachi was a summation of that Booklet. I’m praying for you guys, please pray for all of us who want to be intimately united to the will of God, Cross and All!

    Happy to be interrupted by the Lord today, though i did not feel like it at first. The Lord asked me to go to the Blessed Sacrament, I had no idea why there was a random feeling in me to go there. When I got there, He whispered for me to comfort a crying woman. I felt chills all over my body and felt like crying too. The message He asked me to give to the woman was a message I never knew I needed to hear too, that He never forsakes His people.

    I’m here seeking some advice if anyone could help me. I’m 16, raised catholic my entire life. I am extremely depressed, to the point of being almost suicidal, and not once in my entire life have I received a single sign from God. I prayed every day growing up, including when my depression started. However I never received an answer nor did I receive any proof that God is really up there. The only thing keeping me alive is weed, (which I’m sure is going to get me a lot of hate because Catholics seem to always be against it. It’s a medicine, not just a drug) anyways that’s not the point. Point is, I’m having a hard time believing God is even real after all the praying and going to mass. Why would he let me suffer so incredibly much? Oh well, I’ll just light up this blunt cause that’s the only thing that’s here for me. God isn’t and no one else is.

    • @lainelorenzo9992
      @lainelorenzo9992 5 лет назад

      Blake Yarberry everyday we are alive is a sign from God that He loves us and gives us a new chance In life. I don’t know what your issues are and the cause for your depression but I assure you that turning to weed won’t make your situation better. Suicide is not an option either. It is the devil’s way of letting you forget how much Jesus sacrificed for your salvation. Maybe weed will numb your feelings but it sure will not solve your problems. I too have my experience of praying and going to Mass feeling as if it is not doing me any good. But God acts in ways which are a mystery for us. Continue praying and always go near Him. Trust that He is working on your life. Go and confide in someone but always let the first conversation be with God. He is there for you. Let Him take charge of your life. God bless you.

    • @7discerning
      @7discerning 5 лет назад

      Blake Yarberry, the Bible says we should never ask God to prove Himself to us. We need to have faith that He exists. The good thing is that you are honestly seeking. A lot of people give up long before you. Their loss. Jesus very often says "your faith has healed you". Did all those people who were healed by Jesus ask him to prove that He was God before asking to be healed by Him? No, they had faith first, and it was rewarded. I myself have been healed from internal stomach bleeding in one day (not medically possible), after praying in front of the blessed sacrament, so I know Jesus is God. Have you heard of the 'miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe'? Google that. Have you considered talking to a priest? The younger the priest, the better, though any priest will do. It helped me a lot to understand our faith and overcome addiction. Make an appointment at the church office for "spiritual direction" with the priest. Make a good confession before, and you won't be afraid to meet. Tell him your problems and I am sure he will guide you amongst all the 'noise' in this world. Trust me, there's a lot of 'noise' and all of us Catholics are continually struggling with it. What God is calling us to, is not what the world is calling us to. There are some medicinal properties to weed, but if not used to cure a disease, it can become problematic - that's what fellow Catholics are warning you about - it's not hate, it's actually concern for your well-being (though they might not know everything about weed). Also, talk to your parents about your suicidal tendencies. They might be unknowingly contributing to those tendencies but probably love you more than you think. They are probably dealing with their own problems not realizing yours. Finally, remember that Jesus had to suffer and die before He could rise. If He was God and had to suffer, what about us? No pain, no gain right? I can honestly say that its harder for younger people, but if there's no God in this world and we still have so many problems, what have we got to lose? If we continue to truly seek, it will work out in the end. Catholicism is a life-long journey that we are all going on.
