Hi Anna Your father showed you that you really can become a saint in Heaven. Put your trust in God and do his will at all times. Your comment was beautiful!! God bless you and your entire family :-)
Your Father is in peace. Thank you for sharing this amazing story of your Father, who even in the greatest torments and the great temptations to despair that occur when dying, never gave in, but shouted those beautiful words that give proof to God of his love for Him. Wearing brown robes and being a friar must be really liberating to preach the Word of God in the Catholic Church. Because preaching, praying and working for God is exactly what people wants them to do. Its authentic and its so refreshing and so comforting . I pray that you never loose that Holy Spirit and that this Spirit will always find your doors open for him to enter in your hearts.

Mother Mary please help me to be as sincere and attentive in my listening to others as Fr. Mark-Mary and Br. Malachy are with each other. Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of GRACE and of the gift 🎁 of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
I want to be all in, there are many things that I have placed at the foot of the cross, but there is something that I am holding on to, but I don't know what it is, or why.
Do not fear! I know exactly how you feel! The best thing for us to do is first: To ask God to reveal to us what it is we're holding on to and also to ask Him what is in our hearts that displeases Him. I'm sure you've already done this (Good job!), but just in case you haven't I mentioned it. Secondly: Talk to the most faithful and just priest you know about this question that you have, but before you do this ask God to reveal to you through this priest what it is you are holding on to (If it be His will). When you are finally talking to this priest, hold nothing back. Open your heart to God through this priest and tell him all of your concerns. I'm sure you are confused, but don't let that discourage. Do not think that Our Good Lord will abandon you, or not answer you. He will always be there for you. God Bless Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
That's true for most of us, Christine. We all should keep that question close in our hearts for regular bouts of prayerful meditation. In my case, 'something' probably could be replaced with 'some (if not many) things.'

Your subject inspires the question "how far is giving everything to God" could go?" We could say this way also, "God find me so worth His whole Love, He asking me to Give my Whole to Him"... Brother and Father, I would talk to you all day long... I am in a part of my life where, I'm changing my life, giving up a part of my life "for a big change of carrier". It followed prayers and some from a priest of our community. Prayers have been heard!! Though, there's a transition of carrier; there is a part of big trust in Him that is settling in my heart. I kind of gave it all. But, it isn't your level of "giving all". It is "as a baby getting born" (again?! Maybe). YET, I always tell our God that I still have a huge step to do. I envy your strength. I love to see your serenity in your heart. I thank God to hear you both. Have a little prayer for me. God bless you!
In my opinion, this is the obvious "beginners" meditation of what it means to give your all to Christ. What I struggle with is the how and this is something that is rarely discussed (especially from a first world perspective).
If you've said these words to him.. "Jesus I am all in," then its patience and prayer we struggle with. Discernment takes making a decision but that is where we struggle, the day to day making of decisions that keep us on the road to Christ. Many of us feel we've said "I'm all in" and now we're sort of feet frozen to the ground waiting on the lightning bolt. Paralysis by analysis. We're sort of asking God what's next impatiently.
Thank you Father! I'm struggling with what to go all in with...unemployed, single, mid-life student. I've gone all in before and failed, miserably. It must have been wrong. My prayer is wrong, just feeling like even if I knew-it wouldn't work out...
I think there are few people if any currently here in this world who fully know how to pray (which is why I also believe angels help translate our prayers into something acceptable). And I've had the same waning hope as you're experiencing. What helped me with that was parables and even OT books like Ezekiel. It's not about 'perfect,' it's about being closer today than yesterday.

I struggle with giving all. I have a shy socially awkward personality and I find it difficult to witness for other people. I tried it with my atheistic father and I came off very awkward and unconvincing. So idk if I should just keep it up or what :D
Okay, but what does it mean on a practical level to go all in and hild notbing back? I worry thst it meand be in adoration 24/7 or mass, and roseries all day with. No time for other activities. People tell me that's not what it means. When I pray I wonder if I am badfor wanting to stop and do something else. If I am praying, at some point I have to decide I'm done praying. Foes this mean I am holding back? I don't want to pray 1000 roseries a day in adoration. What does it actually mean to go all in, and not hold back?
@Abbygail De Leon Good comment. 'All in' has a subjective quality. It certainly didn't look the same for the desert fathers as it did for St. Therese of Lisieux, which I think was your point.
@Abbygail De Leon Thank you for this! It is a helpul reminder that you can glorify God by doing things that aren't exactly traditional prayer, and that one Rosery is okay
You can pray continuously throughout the day by simply saying “Jesus” and offering up whatever you’re doing for God. That being said, I find my most peaceful moments when I close out the noise of the world and spend quality time with the Lord. God bless you!
To me all in simply means letting the Lord take full control of every situation in our lives. This is not as easy as it sounds especially when we are broken hearted. All in means surrendering our will to the Holy Spirit. It is more than outwardly signs of holiness, it's the real and deepest part of you that will one day stand before the Lord. God bless.
I got one question I Believe in god and everything but if he is so powerful how come he does not get rid of the devil himself it’s bin thousands of years I DO LOVE GOD 👏👏👏
Powerful message as always 😊. My problem is I don’t trust myself. I’ always have a voice says I’m not capable, I’ll make things worse, I won’t be consistently all in, I’m incapable of fully living. Sometimes I try, but that self doubt keeps me from fully trying. Advice?
On our own, we all are not fully capable. And, yes, we sometimes make things worse. One thing to pray for is the Lord's constant guidance. And it will be given to us. Sometimes we won't listen, though. I think two-steps-forward-one-back is a better approach than never stepping forward.
In other words, though this is a very good and inspiring video, the 'all in' part of it can be daunting, especially for more analytical, reflective folks. And the end result can be to spend a lot of time thinking about ourselves, at the expense of thinking about God and our neighbors. I see 'all in' as a long-term goal, and not necessarily something that can be achieved right away.
Love all of yout comments... I just honestly don't know what that means in my day-to-day life. Work, school, bills, cooking, cleaning, etc... I welcome prayers and comments.
Hi @Veronica Longcor, your comment is very beautiful, because the kind of life you describe is the type God often (perhaps most often) uses to bring about great holiness in people for His glory. Sometimes it is the mundane and the tedious that is the most difficult, and therefore the greatest gift we can offer God. You can offer that moment when it stinks to get up at 5 AM to get the family ready for the day... again... for the millionth time. You can offer that bill you pay which means you yourself don't get the nice but unnecessary thing you kinda wanted. St. Therese wrote beautifully of the life of unseen, minute sacrifices. She would do things like fold the linens in the closet that nobody ever looked in extra nicely, just to do it with a cheerful and loving attitude so that it could be a gift for God. She never did anything big or dramatic, but living a life like that made her a great saint and a Doctor of the Church. We can be "all in" in the littlest things, so long as we are "all in" with whatever our life presents--even cooking dinner, so long as we do our best to make it a cheerful, loving offering. One book among many that really helped me understand this is called Consoling the Heart of Jesus. You might like it! 😁
@@veronicalongcor8162 I'm so happy and grateful my poor attempt at explaining was useful to you!!!!! That book, or the writings of St. Therese herself (Story of a Soul) will do it a thousand times better than I could. Thanks for making my day by your kind response!!! 😁💖😁
@@nyakanyasko and how would I be able to afford driving to the church? Government takes 40 off the top. Vatican wants another ten and I suppose after I give my paycheck to them that don't need it I should be grateful the church will dispense some free bread after mass, assuming I'm willing to take the walk of shame and stand in the poor line. That line being intentionally placed in common areas so that the wealthy may look upon us with a smile on their face but disdain in their hearts. Ya, seems reasonable.
Thank you for voicing your confusion. My brother, God does not require our love, certainly not out of envy or jealousy - God desires that we do His will at all times and love Him with all of our hearts because He knows this is what will bring us the utmost joy here in this life and in the next. If you follow Jesus it will require much suffering, but do not let this discourage you. Every tear, sigh, sweat and sadness you experience in His name, as long as you offer it up to the Lord as a testimony of your faith and love for Him, He will reward you here in this life, but in His Kingdom, He will reward you ten times over for suffering so greatly for Him. God does not want you to fear, experience tortures, have dread, anxieties, or despair in this world and for all eternity - He desires to love. He wants you, His child, to be with Him in His Heavenly Kingdom. Do not reject this opportunity. Be with our Lord - I too desire to see you in Heaven.
@@ignatius9351 he gotta funny way of showing favor. When I prayed the response was " crickets" when I tried living according to his will she took the money and then another man. I'll be dammed before I continue talking to him who does not talk in return. I'll be further dammed if I give money I don't have to an organization that has plenty of it. Now it seems as though I have a bad attitude and if you think that you'd be right. I'd be right in saying maybe I got a right to one. Fact is I believe in God as I also believe he could do without me for if he wanted me, he'd talk to me. I'm done.

I struggle with giving all. I have a shy socially awkward personality and I find it difficult to witness for other people. I tried it with my atheistic father and I came off very awkward and unconvincing. So idk if I should just keep it up or what :D
Amen
All in.
Me first again!
I still don't get the concept of this even though I served for a very long time. Worry still consumes me especially the financial aspect of life.
1st view and like!
Sometimes you have to pick up your cross one piece at a time before you carry your full cross .
Thank you so much for your beautiful words! That helps me more than you know! I will find that book! God bless you!❤
@@veronicalongcor8162 I'm so happy and grateful my poor attempt at explaining was useful to you!!!!! That book, or the writings of St. Therese herself (Story of a Soul) will do it a thousand times better than I could. Thanks for making my day by your kind response!!! 😁💖😁
But HOW do I go all in
:))
Is that guy on the right related to Father Mike?
Brother on the right; Ashton Kutcher’s sibling, is that you?
Deus mihi dixit
Apocalypse 3:16
All in for him who needs nothing. Seems a bit weird.
Needs nothing... But desires you!
@@captainthumper9175 Seems like you're judging other people's intentions and unless you're a mind reader, that ain't reasonable.
I'm done.
