Nice reaction, thanks! "Light and Darkness" is way outside my alley musically. And I admit I wasn't so sure about this one at first. But I found Su's vocals amazing (despite being the studio recording and a little bit overproduced for my taste). The fact is that the song slowly grew on me until it hit me emotionally at some point (I really need to feel that and not all the BABYMETAL songs have reached that point). So I'm so happy right now and I can't wait to see how it sounds live (probably heavier and better), Until next time!
Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 Another lovely ballad with beautiful SuMetal vocals piercing into our hearts. Love the J-pop sound and the nostalgic vibes. Here's some info about this song: "One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is "LIGHT AND DARKNESS" and this 4th pre-release digital single “Light and Darkness” centers around this theme. Because light exists, darkness also exists. And because darkness is present, there is also a world that shines. During the night when light and darkness intersect, what we seek after poisoned with darkness awaits a world filled with strong love. As the door opens, is it hope or despair that awaits us? The song expresses the duality in everything and the way things are perceived and interpreted differ depending on each person’s point of view." This was a world premiere at Makuhari Messe 2023 setlist, along with "THE LEGEND", Momoko Okazaki is the third backup dancer performing here and possibly the new official member. MoaMetal once again adding the backing vocals and all of them dancing with the full trio formation. Here's the lyrics translated with some help. Thanks for sharing this. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥 Lyrics : MK-METAL / TAKEMETAL Music : TAKEMETAL Arrangement : tatsuoMETAL [Lyrics] Even the reality buried in the snow of sadness Even these hands that have been dyed red by mistakes Take me to oblivion To an ideal world filled with love Open that door Come on Ah, Ah Being poisoned, falling into a dream A night where light and darkness seek and play together Drowning in a sea of rhythm Even my memories are being destroyed This love is strong and strong I'm sure it won't stop This love is strong and strong Never let go Let me out. Let me out. let's jump out hit by the rain of joy Let me go. Let me go. Right now Let's dance the night away Take me to oblivion Take off the mask filled with lies Right now Being poisoned, falling into a dream A night where light and darkness seek and play together Drowning in a sea of rhythm Even my memories are being destroyed This love is strong and strong I'm sure it won't stop This love is strong and strong Never let go In the night when sorrow overflows Keep this love warm Open the door now Come on Ah, Ah Even my dreams are poisoned A night where hope and despair seek and play together Ring out forever Even my heart is filled This love is strong and strong I'm sure it won't stop This love is strong and strong Never let go
Good reaction. As it is the official video and has the studio audio dubbed over the live performance they are going to concentrate on the girls - there isn't so much point in showing the Kami Band in a video like this as they weren't playing the music we are listening to. We have to wait for the DVD for the live audio and to hear what the Kami Band did with this - and when we can hear them we are more likely to catch sight of them too (hopefully). I feel this album, concept aside, is highlighting Su-metal's vocals more than anything and possibly more than has been the case in the previous albums - they each had maybe three or four songs that really did that, this one so far every song has done it. Of the four songs released so far 'Monochrome' is my own favourite. 'Metal Kingdom' and 'Divine Attack' work well together for the concert openers. I couldn't avoid disco music when I was a lot younger (I tried but it was unavoidable and I didn't like it), so this song is still growing on me, but I know to wait for the live version - the live versions are always better.
Since the advent of BABYMETAL, band groups such as BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES have been attracting attention, but BABYMETAL has not consistently been a band group. There was a time when Kami-Band also appealed to us, but now we support them behind the scenes. It seems that TheOtherOne this time focuses on the singing ability of SU-METAL, the leading role of BABYMETAL. She will sing songs of various styles.
I saw Baby Metal at Wembley arena 2016 which was a great show. Can you please react to the awesome Japanese female Hard Rock band BAND-MAID, "Domination" live at Shibuya :)
Nice reaction, thanks!

[Lyrics]
Even the reality buried in the snow of sadness
Even these hands that have been dyed red by mistakes
Take me to oblivion
To an ideal world filled with love
Open that door
Come on Ah, Ah
Being poisoned, falling into a dream
A night where light and darkness seek and play together
Drowning in a sea of rhythm
Even my memories are being destroyed
This love is strong and strong
I'm sure it won't stop
This love is strong and strong
Never let go
Let me out. Let me out.
let's jump out
hit by the rain of joy
Let me go. Let me go.
Right now
Let's dance the night away
Take me to oblivion
Take off the mask filled with lies
Right now
Being poisoned, falling into a dream
A night where light and darkness seek and play together
Drowning in a sea of rhythm
Even my memories are being destroyed
This love is strong and strong
I'm sure it won't stop
This love is strong and strong
Never let go
In the night when sorrow overflows
Keep this love warm
Open the door now
Come on Ah, Ah
Even my dreams are poisoned
A night where hope and despair seek and play together
Ring out forever
Even my heart is filled
This love is strong and strong
I'm sure it won't stop
This love is strong and strong
Never let go
