Great reaction. BABYMETAL never put out a lyric video before, I'm thinking with 'Monochrome' they really want us to know what they are singing so we can decide what the song means (as ever it is open to interpretation of course and we will all have our own thoughts, which is not a bad thing) ... and the visuals on lyric videos are never like they are on an official video, so the fact they took so much trouble with the visuals in this one has to say they mean something too. From my starting point of almost complete ignorance I have been learning so much from comments under other reactions about Ragnarok and the Norse mythology being referenced and the general consensus is there are also many references to the bombing of Hiroshima (Su-metal's home town) and Nagasaki, even if it is not specifically about those tragic events. The "monochrome firework" could be the bomb, the umbrellas and smoking water may reference the black acid rain that fell in the fallout and the tree they used in the visuals throughout and that was finally shown in colour at the end could be the Hiroshima Peace Tree that survived the bombing as well as the tree of life from Norse mythology. As ever BABYMETAL do leave us with a feeling of hope and optimism and the message that no matter how long the night, the morning will still come. Colour will return to the world.🌈🦊
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse.🦊🤘🌐 Is nice to see old BM fans and reactors coming back to hear more BM new songs. Just in case you missed it, "Divine Attack - Shingeki" is a blast but METAL KINGDOM official MV is already out too, kindly take a look on that to get a clear picture of this new upcoming 4th album called "The Other One", and get ready for more coz a new single is coming this month, they held two live concerts at the end of January returning to the stage after almost two years and this song was another highlight of the show, can't wait to see the live proshot, we got big news and announcements along with more live shows coming in April 1st (Fox Day), later they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour as a special guests. The symbols and everything around this song gave us strong anti-war theme, and is really nice to have these type of songs in these dark times all around the world, at the end of the day we all just need to keep in mind, everything won't last forever, and eventually the hope will be back. We all know so far that this time they're introducing us to their metalverse with 10 different worlds and songs, and we're gonna see the full picture once the full album is out, probably some more hints with the next singles coming and the live performance next January. OTFGK. These are the credits: *Monochrome* Lyrics : MK-METAL Music & Arrangement : YUPPEMETAL (aka Yuyoyuppe) he's the one behind songs like Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Megitsune and Kagerou, he knows his business and totally rocks. Like SuMetal said at the end: _"Just smile"_ 🙂 Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🌈
Thanks for this reaction, always great to see what people have to say. What could be the case with the start of the song: it could be it connects to the previous song on the album, because it's a concept album.
That's just how it's supposed to sound. Listen to Leia by Yuyoyuppe it has the same song structure. If Babymetal covered Leia it would sound nearly identical to Monochrome. Leia was made in or around 2008.
Great stuff. Hard to believe it’s the same band who gave us Doki Doki Morning & Awadama Fever……on second thoughts….it’s not really. …..BABYMETAL are awesome
its funny, everytime i have the BM playlist going this songs alwayse gets 2 or even a 3rd repeat before moving on :) oh ye and the BM playlist have been going almost non-stop the last week since i fell down the Fox Hole
'It flows so nice' I agree. It's basically a Vocaloid. That is what all the good Vocaloid songs do. Songs like that get better every time you hear them. You'll never get tired of Monochrome just like Senbonzakura. I could hear Senbonzakura a million times.
