I love gadgets. I had no idea that the thread had different ways of going on the machine. I have a featherweight and will be getting this amazing gadget. Thank you Laura.
You always teach me something new -- thank you! And now your hubby is teaching me new recipes too! I've been following you a long time, but only recently learned of your husband's channel. His recipes, along with his kind presence, are a treat :)
Thank you, thank you. I have a featherweight and I have the thread post but I did not know how to put the post on the machine. I thought I had to take the metal post out and replace it with the plastic one. Not sure if the directions were not clear or if I had directions. Now I know.😀
Wow who knew about those type of spools of threads. I always knew thread aligned right is essential and threaded correctly in the direction as I use the short spools instead of newer designed spools but I had no idea about other types of thread spools. Thank you good video and what an awesome gadget!😊
Great information, is the reverse true for newer machines and threads that are not would in that cross pattern? In other words would I need to be concerned about using an older spool of thread on my newer Brother where the thread holder is horizontal?
Yes, you want to find a way to have the old style thread vertical on your new machine- my huaqvarna came with a small post and a slot for that post to sit upright.
I'm confused. I have a vintage Singer 600e. It has a horizontal spool with a stopper. I've always used parallel thread. Can I now use crosswound thread on it? Or are the spools themselves too long?
This little gadget would probably work on my 25yr old toyota. I really didn't know this about threads.... so I learned something new. Thank you.
They work so well on the Featherweight machine. I’ve been using it for years!

Where would I buy the thread holder? I already looked in Joann's.
That should be easy to 3D print
