The part of the video when I state that original documents must be mailed has a mistake. If applying by mail, self-attested copies of the required documentation must be submitted, though.

For Online upload document for minor there are only 3 that match with suggested lost from dropdown menu appear , Current passport, Indian routes parents passport and marrage certificate. Should we still upload parents employment letter, and spouse oci card and passport.?

Am I good to upload the scanned copies of the original documents WITHOUT SELF ATTESTING THEM.? The VFS information page keeps mentioned ( " documents need to be self attested) doesnt say if we are to do it online too. thanks again! waiting for the response!

As per my information, you can upload the scanned original documents online. When submitting copies at VFS, you have to self attest them. I followed the same process and we got OCIs for our family.

If so, what should I mention in relation with root Indian blank? Also, what documents do I have to submit? I know I was eligible under 18, but now I am not under 18. That's why I want to confirm. I am not sure if VFS centre will help you out, as here in Canada, BLS don't help at all with online applications. They just ask you to follow the instructions from the booklet.
However please make sure the photo and signature file should be under these dimensions:
The height and width of the Applicant Photo must be equal.
The minimum dimensions are 200 pixels (width) x 200 pixels (height).
The maximum dimensions are 3500 pixels (width) x 3500 pixels (height).
The height and width of the Signature Photo must have aspect ratio 1:3
The minimum dimensions are 200 pixels (width) x 67 pixels (height).
The maximum dimensions are 3500 pixels (width) x 2500 pixels (height).

The instruction on the generated submitted form talks about left thumb imperession for all minors irrespective of being a boy or a girl. Did you read anywher about right thumb impression in case of a girl?

In the "Upload documents" section, you are able to upload as many documents as it permits. You can upload the docs required even if the drop down list is different. I faced the same thing and the BLS employee told me the list drop down shows differently sometimes and we have to upload as per our case.

Yes you can upload all the requisite documents one by one as you may not find all the options in the drop-down menu. So upload what's required for your application.

You can search online and there are many free websites and softwares where you can resize photos. I also used a link after googling it and it worked for me.

All prerequisites should be satisfied for a minor application. A thumb impression is not necessary if your child can sign, but a NOC will be needed.

We only put a thumbprint on the application for our baby. Not on the supporting documents and it worked for us.

You have to upload the original documents, not the self attested copies. You can upload all the requisite documents for your application and sometimes the drop down list shows different options, but you can still follow the checklist and upload what's necessary.

In the "Upload Documents" section, you are able to upload as many documents as it permits. You can bring the remaining supporting documentation to your meeting with BLS. We followed the same thing.
So can I merge all the documents and upload? Because the list with drop down arrow is different from the documents i want to upload.
Yeah, thats one way too. You can either merge all of them in one PDF, or you can upload the docs required even if the drop down list is different. I faced the same thing, BLS employee told me the list drop down shows differently sometimes and we have to upload as per our case.

They don't keep the original passport. They will verify and give it back to you. They will only keep the self attested copies of all the requisite documents.

You must have a Demand draft for OCI application fees, however you can pay BLS by debit card.

We submitted individual demand drafts for each file and it was more convenient for us. I am not sure about submitting a consolidated one.

Hi while uploading documents I can see only two options that are suitable for me which is current passport of baby and marriage certificate. So I can only upload those documents that I can see and the other documents I can take to walk in? Or I want to ask one more thing as parents we are not citizen of Canada we have Indian nationality. We can put our names in Indian roots or we have to give grandparents that are currently over there. And we will need the id proofs for the relationship roots also if we gonna put grandparents?

what is visible mark?
Visible distinguishing mark means any mark on the body by birth, birthmark or any indelible scar etc. (normally visible) which helps in identifying a person easily. You can write “NONE”, in case you don't have a distinguishing mark.

One more thing is that it is mandatory to use only right thumb of baby girl because at some places left is mentioned for his/her

As per my information, right thumb impression for baby girl and left thumb impression for baby boy is required. You may call BLS to verify from your end if you like.
Nearly 4 points are irrelevant if You are applying from Australia
1) NOC - not required
2) baby signature or thumb - not required. If someone asking ..that's stupidity and meaningless. What action can be taken by any govt on months baby 😅. Simply upload a picture of "No Signature" according to their dimensions..
4) if you sending application via post, simply get the photocopies attested by JP, notary, or general consulate ( the last option is a joke .. they charge some 70$ per document ... I'm the only stupid person in Australia who got that OCI attestation done..but that's for other purposes (loan purposes in India) ..not for OCI
5) no DD is required..just fill in the payment page with your CC details

Hi Navjot, Normal timeline is 6-8 weeks, however it's taking around 10 weeks in Ottawa these days.
