Adding a marker in the previous chain is a great idea. I’ve avoided fsc because I’m always wondering if I’m placing my hook in the correct chain-now I’ll know for sure. Thank you!

Hi! I love this pattern but to be honest I don’t understand the single crochet foundation row. Is there another way to begin this pattern or maybe another video that explains how to do it again?

Marly, I absolutely HATE working into starting chain stitches. It's the only part of crochet that I don't like. Could I do a foundation stitch like this (with the appropriate stitch varient) to start _any_ project?

Marly Bird, it sounds like there is a caveat there. Should I be aware of any peculiarities before I dive in on a given pattern? I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, but I'd love your opinion. 😊
+MsDinoGal if you're starting with a base stitch like a sc or hdc or DC then totally. If you're doing something more complicated then I would be cautious :)

Do u think this would work wth the Red Heart Unforgettable Boutique yarn??
I think you could do this stitch pattern with Unforgettable but you would need more stitches as the gauge would need to be adjusted. The Gleam is thicker than the Unforgettable. However, I think it would be BEAUTIFUL.

You can use any yarn you wish, but this yarn is thicker than Caron Soft Yarn...you will have to adjust number of chains and stitches to make the correct measurement. It would be easier to substitute a yarn that is more comparable to the Gleam Yarn if you want to switch it.
