I do appreciate the dialogue at the end, as someone who loves to fish new water people see all the giants we post on Instagram, but nobody sees the 25-50 trips a year where you hit new water and catch nothing but a cold.

Hey what’s up Lawson! I just wanted to say that after watching you and following you and becoming a fan of you I’ve had this crazy passion for fishing and last week I fished for 7 days straight without a fish and barely any bites until Sunday morning I caught a fish that locals here call a gualaje which is pretty much a tarpon snook that was .500 grams away from being a potential world record. I also tagged you on the pic on insta if you wanna see it, but thanks for the videos they are super awesome and informative and inspiring to me haha.

Good stuff. Especially the advice at the end on trying new places, understanding you won't always have a great bite, and keeping your head up.

That dolphin you saw was a sub-species miami dolphin, last seen in the super bowl in the mid 1980's, been missing in action ever since then

I agree with everything you talked about. BUT... you bring tactics back to the foreground that get overlooked by fisher people ( men and women ). I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos! This one was not one of your more action packed BUT DEFINITELY ONE OF YOUR MORE INFORMATIVE VIDEOS. I feel like you don’t just broadcast a video of you catching fish. You try to help teach people to be better fisher people!!
    Thanks Lawson!

Love your videoa. Especially when u give tips and teach. And theres a lot of us out that looking for that. The best vids r the the ones that actually show how to do it and not whole vid of fish being reeled in.

As always I enjoyed this video Lawson. When pitching and slow drifting live baits I have found all live baits swim more lively when they are not hooked in the mouth. I prefer to place the hook horizontally just below the thick skin just behind e head. This allows the bait to swin forward freely compared to when they are being dragged by the mouth more forward. I hope you give it a try and I hope this increases your hookup rates. On one trip a few years ago my friends were hooking live baits through the mouth and I was harnessing them by placing the hook horizontally just below the thick skin just behind the head. Four of us were fishing the same school of albacore with the same leaders and hooks. I caught 75% of the fish. It does work better. Give it a try and I hope to hear your report.

#1 --- Having the boat back is dope!!! It allows you to stretch your legs a bit and get out on some new waters which is always good. #2 --- Your approach to this new area is in many way teaching -- what to do and how to do it.... productive? ..... not as much as you'd like but still gave a lot of very informative info. #3 Why aren't ya letting her fish? Since she got that "record" 43in? Snook -- her PB....... ya ain't let her have a stick in 'er hand!!! Only da camera! ............... LOL jk (just messin with ya)... :) Good stuff.
