Cant be giving away our secrets man. We went for a 6 day long fishing trip up in Canada this year, and caught 1300 fish. All on the 5 of diamonds. Best lure of all time. Caught smallies, Largies, perch, walleye, pike, muskie, and I even caught a catfish on one. I cannot stress this enough... BEST LURE OF ALL TIME
Dude 100%. I find most fishing lures are there to catch fisherman. My grandpa used to say just stick with the classics. I use the chartreuse or yellow five diamonds and I also really like the red devil but the reversed colors. White with a red stripe. Those are my go twos no matter where I'm fishing. I'll try some fancy stuff but those are the ones that always catch the fish and almost every species. I've even caught mackerel in saltwater on Len Thompson's. Thanks for watching glad you had a awesome fishing trip.
My biggest pike was on a big 3 of diamonds. Roughly that size, given to me by a friend. Was sitting in his tackle box for like 20 years before I used it to catch mine. I still have that spoon.
That's awesome. I've actually talked way bigger stuff and it's amazing because something big as Say 12 inches will catch a pike around 12 inches. They are very greedy eaters. Thanks for watching.
Very similar in size to the Number 4 Len Thompson. Looks like it worked out well for you. Always amazes me that some small pike will hit those as well.
@@FishGawd stop using a lip gripper on pike though (better stop using it instead ur fishing for the pan). pikes jaws can break very easy, esp if u put a lip grip on the most breakable part (where the 2 jaw bones join together in the front). lip grippers are not designed for releasing fish.. even on bass u can decimate the population.. back in the 90''s people dindt know any better.. and it was all the hype.. pike are easy to land if u grab them by the gills or behind the neck for smaller fish, also makes their mouth go open so u can unhook them.
Do you think the braided steel leader costs you bites? I know pike will bite anything but I’ve been using 100lb fluoro leaders just for reduced visibility. I’d rather use my steel leaders
Wow 31 inch brown trout. That's got to be close to a world record. Wasn't really on a 5 1/2 inch spoon? That's totally crazy. It would be super cool if you had some footage of that. Thanks for watching the channel. Tight lines my friend
I find that allot of the really big spoons are rather light for their size, relative to the smaller models. They catch fish just fine but they are often prone to getting blown around by the wind, and dont cast terribly well, generally making better trolling lures.
@@Mitter22 Exactly, it seems that with a lot of spoons the thickness doesnt increase at the same ratio as the size. You end up with a spoon that weighs very little, relative to its surface area and wind resistance.
Yellow 5 of diamonds or the red and white wonderlure with a copper back. Red and white daredevils are good too, but those wonderlures if you can find one are amazing
Good old Lenny. If you're ever in the LaComb area. They have the world's biggest spoon on display right next to their lake and if you ask nicely the owner Christina will give you a tour of the factory. They are really great people and they make a great product. I've had lots of knock offs but I don't know what it is I catch more on the real Len Thompson's.
Oh heck yes man. I've got thousands of fish on the Williams. I was just trying to use a big stupid size lure to see if it would actually work. Maybe my next video up there I'll use Williams just for you. Thanks for watching
I would have to agree with you. I actually used a treble hook and before I tied it on the line I put a 6 inch piece of red licorice. And I caught one of my personal best Pike on that rig
Anytime I'm fishing for pike the five of diamonds is my go to. Any brand works but I'm very familiar with and happy to use Len thompson. Red diamonds or black diamonds work very well. I also enjoy the chartreuse yellow with either red or black diamonds. It doesn't seem to make a difference what size you're throwing. If there is a pike in the area they will bite it. Thanks for watching and good luck. If you're ever in the Calgary area hit me up on Instagram and we can go fishing together.
but my fingers are so soft. lol.. tired of gettin bit . My thumb and fingers have scars that look like the forehead of a wrestler from the 80s after years of grabbing those suckers.
Absolutely. I use a 2 inch five of diamonds quite often when I'm fishing for smallmouth. I also have a really great luck with the blue fox spinners when fishing for bass. Thanks for watching and tight lines
I do love my Lenthompsons. I’ve actually toured the factory and they actually made fishgawd spoons for me. But I wanted to try that giant Cabela’s Canadian spoon lol thanks for watching. Tight lines my friend

Right on. Thanks for watching. Tight lines.. PS one of the new vids I caught an even bigger one on a small 5 of diamonds. Tight lines my friend

Caught a 31” brown somewhere around Calgary on one of those was pretty fun that was before my fly fishing assimilation lol

The ones from Cabela’s we’re actually really well waited. And the cast really far.
They depend on the thickness boss.

to true.
Nice video! Where was this video filmed?
Sorry so long lol. I’m terrible at remembering to check the comments. That is Baptiste lake in Central Alberta.
Daredevil red n white is my go to for pike
Yes. That's a great one. My experience I always have better luck with five of diamonds. Thanks for watching and tight lines my friend

Reverse white n red daredevil size NO. 00
I caught my biggest pike on a black and yellow Len Thompson spoon which I bought on sale for $3.

@@FishGawd Good to know, thanks!
please use the Williams wobbler in the gold and silver color iv got millions of fish on them

I have also caught pike on bell peppers, strips of tinfoil and even a baby pike on a McDonalds straw. Lol I feel like they almost eat anything
I would have to agree with you. I actually used a treble hook and before I tied it on the line I put a 6 inch piece of red licorice. And I caught one of my personal best Pike on that rig
I’m going up to michigan for 2 weeks and going to see if I can catch my first pike
Sorry, my responses so late. Hopefully you got some monsters.
Where in Nothern Alberta? I am originally from Boyle.
That's Baptist lake. Over on the white gull side
I like a 20+ inch daredevil
I go to is definitely a number six or number eight red devil. But I like the white with red stripe the best.. Thanks for watching
Pike love a 5 of diamonds. You can dead stick them ice fishing and pike will show up quickly.
