PSA for everyone: If you plan on going to Freeport to catch Jacks this season, be a respectful fisherman and mind where you cast. It can get nut to butt on that Jetty especially during Jack season, and being careful not to cast over someone’s line can get you a long way. 👍🏼
What power clips are you using?
That's really nice spot that's easy to access and walk on. What a blast!!
Thanks for the tip bruddah! Will definitely try it out. Mahalo! 🤙🏾
Thanks for posting. I use the Breakaway Drumstick a lot. 👍
Can't wait, great informative video
I like my Gator spoons. I've got one I've had over a decade that barely has any shape left to it. No rust though.
I like your commentary. I'm in NC and drum fish..so I'm trying to learn how to fish in Costa Rica surf
Great video !
Great show
Do you put your own shadder glass tape on those? I really like your video the way work the spoon was helpful. I fish for stripers in the aqueduct, and want to fish spoons,I think they could be affective. Right now I just throw jigs, and swim baits, but I think spoons could work. So you have color preference depending on weather meaning sunny hot and cloudy overcast?.
great tips Brother
Heyyy my big man nice tricks I will give the try I got two nice spoons but never used before
What kind of line do you use on the reel
Dude, that jetty looks so nice and flat 😍
When will you restock with more built spoons?
Thanks!
Thank you for the support!!
TNX 4 VID LO u needs to make some more...
Great video. Have you tried using single hooks with those spoons? Also, are those Amazon spoons the crocodile brand or something else?
I have tried using single hooks and my hook up ratio was terrible.
Do you eat the jacks?
Just bought two of your spoons. 🤙👍
Hell yeah, thanks man! Fishing should start heating up next week
Why are you keeping them?
The yellow Jacks are good eats. Medium size cervalle are also good. White flaky meat.
FROM INDONESIA PRESENT MY FRIEND, SUPPOR YOUR CHANEL.
Must be jack season, again. Looks way fun!Tight lines brother!I will hit your spoons up on payday.
Barrel swivel is great idea, makes it harder for the fish to throw it.
Jacks will probably be in about 2 or so weeks. You are right about the swivel I think, might have to make more modifications.
@@BeachBomberFishing We've spoken before I'm Northern Nevada, cutthroat guy,we fish barbless,that swivel is a huge deal. Spoons,to glidebaits,it works,brother.
@@JEM133 I will start adding them, I believe you. I appreciate your input, I love learning from others.
@@BeachBomberFishing
You're the real deal, enjoy your show a lot.
Thanks Carlos
You don't have a problem with line twist with the t.a. clip directly to the split ring?
question for you beach bomber, what do do with all those dead jacks that have been laying out in the sun?
Use them for bait
How do you get that split ring through? I have split pliers but for the life of me I cannot get them throw the spoon hole.
Lmfao that Is THE HARDEST part. You have to use split ring pliers that have a big tooth part. How big of a split ring are you using?
@@BeachBomberFishing probably not as big and girthy as your pliers :( . Alright I’ll just buy some bigger ones. Appreciate it man.
Damn, I guess I'll see you out there in 2 weeks, cause I've never caught a jack lol
bro wat is the name n details of your rod n reel n gear pls
Good fishing bro, how many distance long costing distance
Hey Carlos when you’re throwing spoons for Jacks, try a simple silver Hopkins rig. I got my phone with it.
I just looked it up, I have never seen that rig before. I'm going to try it out at the jetty now.
I believe I have seven or eight in three different size. There is silver and gold. Silver tends to work better.
I'm gonna tye both, if it works ill make a video and give you credit for the idea!
Gear used? Okuma?
Where did you get your split ring pliers from?
Fishing tackle unlimited, you can't buy them elsewhere though. Make sure you get big and strong ones. The smaller ones don't work as well.
Buc ee's (Texas City) have some
Braided line, what test? any leader?
I usually use 50lb braid and a 60lb leader at the jetty.
what ya gonna do with all them jacks? Not like they edible
Good video. Especially on the jig / double jig technique. The Amazon spoons are cheap AF for a reason, LOL.
Lived in lake Jackson for 15 years and fish that jetty many many times.
Surface jetty?
How long is your rod?
One is 7'6 and the other is 9
What action of the rod is it?
Nice video content u always brings up something good n new for fishermen
gator spoons the way to go
Pro Tip: Maybe try the swivel before the split ring in front of the spoon. Cheers! 🤠
correct, otherwise the line twist can cause many problems
Idk what his reasons are but for salmon jigging, the swivel at the hook end is to help prevent the salmon from “unbuttoning” the hook when they are twisting and jumping around, the swivel acts as a bearing and spins so the fish can’t get the lure to use its own weight and shape to leverage the hook out. Which is really important since we’re stuck with single point barbless hooks up here. Makes a big difference.
That's why I put a swivel by the hook and not on the front of the spoon. Glad to hear that works well.
@@BeachBomberFishing instead of split rings I use 80lb braid to make “braided line split rings” they help even more with resisting twist and leverage, and are a little lower profile in my opinion versus heavy duty split rings, and very cheap since one spool of braid will last indefinitely, and no rust on them either, and they’re extremely strong, you’ll bend out or snap just about any hook before the braid gives, or literally tear the hook out of a fish’s mouth lol
🤙😎
But if you let it sink isn’t it gonna get stuck in the rocks ?
Not if you cast it far enough. Cast put about 50 yards and work the bottom, once you see that your line is parallel to the jetty rocks, set the hook and reel as fast as you can.
spoon gor big jack pls
Looks like a croc spoon by gibbs lure out of canada
What is a good jack rod but is cheap. I’m kinda broke 😅
What's your budget?
@@BeachBomberFishing
Like around $150
@Jacobsfishing2122 oof, look into the okuma Rockaway HD in 9ft. It's a good rood with good components for like $120
I went there this Saturday and nothing. The weather changed drastically. It went from being 80 on Friday to 60 on Saturday. Im going to try again next week
Yeah, the weather was improving, but typical texas weather with a swift front to ruin it 💀😂
Very informative video, but you gotta work on the editing and cuts. Much respect bro.
Whats wrong with them lol?
@@BeachBomberFishing 1:02 - 1:20 went from “let me inform you about…” “here’s a fish it’s 40lbs and…” get this hook it’s important because….” “Welcome back to fishing with me” lmao
There's nothing like fishing when you have the water boiling up from below & a lot of times the birds will drop in from
above at the same time. You'll see some of these charter boats who see the action; fish running bait UP & the birds
pushing back DOWN ! It's exciting & then ya sling a lure to pull it back thru that tornado of activity. FUN on Steroids!
Thats one species ive yet to catch... i need a jack
Great video, unfortunately, you are sold out of the Modified Spoons as shown in your video.
Dang man I’m trying to go up there, but can’t find these jetty’s your fishing at. Can you give me the locations please. God bless, Jesus loves you.
You kept a lot of fish, you guys eat those Jacks?
Shark bait
They go in the freezer bro
More the merrier
Has anyone heard of " Jetty Addict's"
I'm pretty impressed 👍 your not making much of that spoon but still trying to help !!!! A few years back you helped me land my first 30 inch bull red at the south jetty.I had a Walmart rod 😅
💕Wow🤍🤍💛🤍💛💛💛
Use a single hook, MAN, single hook works as rudder...
I like these man, these work great. I have tried using single hooks, and they had a lower hook up ratio. I tried again this year with some BKK lone Diablo, we will see if it's better with a wider gap.
@@BeachBomberFishing single hook can provide additional rotation/movement to the lure. So, you should use the hook with the bend faced/turned to the left or right. No stright bend hook.
12cm long x 80 g
3 of each color n will sppreciate if u can offer me free postage to sydney sust pls
tnks n god bless
luv yr videos pls
OK I’m unsubscribing. I literally went there to catch Jacks for my trip to Navarre. Nothing 😂are they back?
💀💀💀. Not yet bro, water still cold, give it like 2 weeks and they will be in.
Do you give us a heads up when and where the fish are biting on your Patreon? @beachbomberfishing
You Americans ?! All this hardware just to catch a GT. Down Under we call them Giant Trevally or GTs. GTs are a side catch when fishing for other things. We let them go because they aren't so good to eat compared to other fish and we love them because they fight so hard and never give up. We tie our leaders to the split ring on the spoon and get rid of the trebles which are crap to use. They are replaced by two back to back 5/0 single hooks. Better hook up, harder for the fish to throw off and easier to get out of the mouths of fish that are still thrashing about after landing. If you guys want to learn how to fish properly just pay us a visit Down Under we will look after you.
