    I feel your frustration with seed companies. I purchased a package of butter crunch lettuce seeds only to open the packet and it was empty!😳 $2.79, down the drain!😩 Lucky you having a feed store that packs their own! I wanted to comment on your cotton seeds. Near my home is a beautifully landscaped assembly grounds called Lake Junaluska and they use cotton plants in one of their flower gardens! I know, it’s bizarre! The seed heads (I guess that’s what they’re called) are stunning when they begin to open. Definitely up your alley! I say go ahead and see what happens. I took a seed head and tried to save the seeds when it opened but had no luck getting them to germinate. Maybe with a greenhouse you could have success. As always, time well spent with you! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful things to come!!! Thank you sweet lady. 🥰🌷🌱

    Wow, those nostalgic seed packets are absolutely adorable and so are the cups for tea and coffee. I love the ducks one the most. It reminds me of Gemima Puddleduck by Beatrix Potter. But your artistry is ever so much enchanting. I find some resemblance to Beatrix Potter and Tasha Tudor in in, but it is not the same. It has your own special enchanting Jeri touch. It is wonderful.
    I am just a "mini" gardener with a very little garden and not too much experience, but I love to watch others do their magic. 🙂 I enjoy going to botanical gardens and marbel at all the beauty.
    I did have one happy plant moment this year though. My tiny cactus, which I got 8 years ago and which grew ever so slightly over the years, bloomed for the first time. It was like watching a miracle. I was soooooo happy 🙂
    Take care Jeri, I am off to my knitting circle today, after a 2 month brake. First I had a nasty flu and 4 weeks into it, I broke my ankle and tore some ligaments. Boy oh boy. Sometimes life just happens and everything is on hold, but now I am on the mend and thank God I could always do my crafts while healing.
    Much love and huggs from Fairy Tale Cottage, Schurwald Forest, Germany. 💗P.S. I do not get to a link when clicking on the picture with the mug, it just takes me to the spot of the video, where you talk about them. You can mow it, but you don't really need to because it only grows about 6-8". Ajuga, Periwnkle, Vinca, creeping Sedum, or Creeping Jenny are all great groundcovers. Creeping Jenny needn't be mowed at all and it really spreads.

    I'm curious do you save your bulbs from year or do you just buy new ones each year? Mine are in containers and they disappear year after year. Do you dig them up and refrigerate them or what? I've tried to just store bulbs bare at room temperature and they just shrivel up!!! I'm new to container growing and love my bulbs!😢 Thank you❤

      I keep my bulbs buried in the ground, very deeply, and they will return. I sometimes remove those in pots if I need the pot for something else.You can store them in sawdust or dry peat inside brown paper bags after they have been cleaned and dried. Keep them in a cool dark place, like a closet, cupboard or fridge.

    Yiu mentioned your many daylilies. Do you know if they are poisonous to cats?

    • @JeriLandersofHopalongHollow
      @JeriLandersofHopalongHollow  Год назад

      I doubt it, in fact all parts of the Daylilly are edible to humans. I made a video a few years ago "Daylilies for Lunch" in which I prepared all parts of the Daylilly for a meal, ( except the leaves, which are tasteless) Keep in mind that my Daylillies are the wild orange ones also known as Field Lilllies. During ww2 the Brits foraged for the roots to use in meals, due to food shortages.

    Question do any of the bulbs produce seeds??? 🌱🤔🦋🌷

    • @JeriLandersofHopalongHollow
      @JeriLandersofHopalongHollow  Год назад

      The actual bulb will reproduce underground making small bulblets. But you don't want those, they would make small insignificant plants. In fact, you want to plant the bulbs very deeply. at least 15-20 inches, so that the bulblets break off as the new stem begins to push up through the earth in the Spring. Those little bulblets prevent you from having big healthy blooms.
