Beautiful magic! Am going to try these colors. Knowing myself, instead of a lovely wetlands scene it’ll look like a mud-puddle, but who doesn’t like playing in them?💁🏼♀️Thanks for sharing👏👏👏
OH !!!! Do I love this serie, Steve ? ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love waking up in the morning, opening my iPad still in bed and seing that there is a new one ! Thank you, it is very useful and you explain everything so well. I am now mixing more and more my colors to get greens, earthtones, etc. 🙏🙏
I really admire the way your style has evolved since I first found your channel. Subtle and smooth, yet not by huge bounds, the sense of confidence I get from your work is the same as it was back then, yet, just more profound in the results. Does that make sense? Thank you for sharing this one AND for always encouraging artists to explore their mixing options. Cheers and I hope you and all of yours are well! ~ Mark
Wow, thanks so much Mark. Yes, it does make sense, and that comment was also profound 😂. Truly though. You know better than many that the teacher learns as much or more than the student in the process of teaching. RUclips has been one of the best learning experiences of my career. The experimentation it has forced on me has been invaluable not only for imparting information but for building the confidence you mentioned. Thanks as always for the encouraging words!
You're right. He has personalized his art over the past 5 years. I can recognize his paintings when searching through artwork online. I like his soft yet detailed look. 🙂
Thanks so much for another wonderful video! I always enjoy your spontaneous paintings and I always learn something from watching you paint them. I especially like the way you let the piece unfold, adding paint just where it seems to be needed, without planning every brush stroke. Every time I watch you paint this way, I want to run to my studio and paint right away!!
That's absolutely beautiful. I love how you demystify watercolours and show us how easy it is to make something that looks like you spent a whole day on it, just with a little bit of careful thought at the outset. 😊
Truly enjoying your curated set of M. Graham Watercolors. Such beautifully rich paint to play with. Totally agree with adding purple and/or indigo to paintings. It just adds that little bit of character.
Love this series… with so many colors and choices of paint, it’s so nice to go back to the basics to show that you truly don’t need to keep buying all those convenience colors! This makes me want to explore what my current paints can do!
Thank you so much for another wonderful demonstration, Steve, and for the encouragement to experiment with a limited palette. I so enjoy and appreciate your generosity to us.
Steve, my mind is blown away,by the how you show us how much variation in colors can be achieved with a limited pallet of color choices. Makes me feel really close to the earth. You are a blessing to me, so thanks for being my teacher.
I'm loving this series of limited palette with different colors. What length are the bristles on the brushes you are using? I've looked them up and they are a big pricey but I think I want to try them. Thanks for any information.
Just received my set of paints, wow are they pigmented! Would love more tutorials, maybe using the reds? I loved the one you did with all the pink, can this be done with this palette?
@The Mind of Watercolor Steve, my adopted brother is red/green colorblind. He's also an artist & is getting into watercolor after listening to me go on & on about it. I'm curious on your thoughts, obviously, especially concerning color. I'm hoping to be able to create a special palette for him, given his situation. Value, I'd think, would be even more important in this case. I'd like him to be able to see his colorblindness as more of a strength for him rather than a weakness. Art is subjective. No color is the "right" color, meaning that the right color is what you want it to be as the artist. He's self conscious about it due to childhood occurrences. *People especially love Monet's darker, more purple watercolor lilies. They're purple due to the fact his cataracts were altering his view of color.
One of my art professors in college was color blind. Did wonderful work. I think painting with value contrast and a harmonious but limited palette is usually key.
I'm with you Steve - can't beat the earth colors mixed via transparent pigments! They just glow - like Nature does! You're a master of Jeanne Dobie whether you realize it or not - "making color sing"! And where would we be w/o Transparent Red Iron Oxide?? ;-)
Hey Steve, Have you done a spontaneous painting in your “ hand-book journal co.” ? I bought one when I saw yours a few yrs back. The texture is very rough. But I love that journal. Not sold anymore, I don’t think. 48 deck led edged Pages. 140/300 gsm . 100% cotton. 9”/6”… I also love it because my last name is Hand. Lol. Making a deckled journal out of Arches, genius. Nice gift! Thanks Steve and God Bless You. - Messy Mendy 🖌
Steve I am really interested in the brushes that you used. However when I went to web site I couldn't really tell which ones you used. Please send me specific names and sizes of those brushes. They are expensive and I want to try to paint a picture "similar " to yours. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for your love of the Mind of Watercolor. God bless
My pleasure. Both brushes are listed in the video description. The only thing I didn't put was the bristle length. Here they are again. 1" Large Goat Synthetic Blend 3/4" Small Silver Fox
Great content!l I’ll definitely look for your other color study. I really really need to understand more colors. I’ll check ur patreon too. One question: what is the notebook you are using to paint? Not the spiral one. Thx
Not sure if its possible or worthwhile to have a digital time counter in the bottom corner of the screen so that as you progress through the painting and when you jump forward or time lapse we can gauge the true painting time and also drying time between various additions to the painting.

Love, love, love this painting. It reminds me of the tamarack bogs where I grew up.
Thanks. You started with four beautiful colors, and you ended up with more beautiful colors. Magic!

I love limited pallete series like these. Makes me learn more about color mixing and color theory. Thank you Steve💕
I love that you don't talk non-stop. Thank you.

Purples and violets have always been major players in my art💜💜💜🥇

Gorgeous earth tones. Love this style of painting

I was about to give a way alot of art supplies because i found mixing so intimidating. i'll keep them around and see what's my favourite.
I am having so much fun looking at the co,ors this way…. Thank you!
I think it's a good idea to practice colour mixing, I will be finding some browns this way. Thankyou
I am loving all these pretty spontaneous landscape "treats" you are sharing with us. Nice video and demonstrations of mixing compliment colors!
I just ordered mine!! Can't wait to play!
That turned out to be such a wonderful piece. A full blown painting would be great, I think.
Finally had a chance to watch this, Steve, and watched it about a dozen times. Learning so much from your videos! Thanks so much!
Just love how you bring your painting to life
I love this style of paintingl. I will be giving it a go tomorrow.
Love my Lebenzon brush! It took forever to arrive🙏🏻🥇
Busy man. He travels and does a lot of shows.
Very nice! I love the loose technique.
Love how you make water and paint work for you. Thanks for sharing.
Love the ending of this video!
Thanks Steve! This was one of your best videos and paintings! Excellent
Wow that’s great! Love 💕 how you make awesome landscapes from the color range choices.

Impressed with what you can do with just 4 colors. Which Watercolors supplies do you recommend for beginners?
Impressive artwork

Jeanne Dobie is awesome! I have her book.

I don't think I have one in that journal. Haven't looked at it in a while though. Mainly just location sketches I think.
Never mind… i heard you said about the notebook
Can I assume this will work with the Daniel Smith split primary set? Or should I pick up any other tunes? I only have the six primary.
Yes. I don't believe there is a purple in that set but you can easily mix it.
Steve I am really interested in the brushes that you used. However when I went to web site I couldn't really tell which ones you used. Please send me specific names and sizes of those brushes. Can burnt sienna be used instead of red iron oxide in this palette for earth tones? Would it work as well?
Yes.

Uauuuuuuu 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Whoah...
You've just re appeared in our YT feed(dump)
Hope you're all doing ok😎
Andrew Pitt type sky.
Indian yellow vs nickel azo yellow....? Those are two colors I'm having difficulty deciding what one to buy
Both great colors. Nickel Azo Yellow is a bit greener (less orange) and earthier in darker tones.
You're a fn Legend lol
Red Iron Oxide = Burnt Sienna. Are you saying make earth tones in your colors by adding an earth tone?
Huh? um, no. It's all explained in the video.
ขอบคุณครับทีถ่ายทอดความรู้เทคนิคสีน้ำ
