I used to do freezer meals but my family just didn't care for them. So now I do ingredient prep. Like you, I chop onions and put them in the freezer. I even cook onions and freeze them to put in meatballs, Salisbury steak. I season taco meat and freeze it. I cook chicken and freeze it. I grate carrots to add to soups/stews. Just little things that help make getting supper on the table easier after being gone all day. Hope you are having a great day, see you tomorrow!! ❤😎🙏

Sis, Becky from Acre homestead takes the garlic cloves she either grows or buys like you have here and minces them in a food processor and takes a small cookie scoop making small pucks and then freezes them..

You can use the crisco butter to make your cookies. Also, you can make your own spice pucks as well. Just put your desired spices with some olive oil. Put in ice cube trays. Once they are frozen, take out and put in a zip lock bag. I have also made garlic pucks with garlic and a little bit of olive oil. Take a small cookie scoop and put on a cookie sheet. Freeze. Once they are frozen, you can put in a zip lock bag and when you need garlic for a recipe, all you need to do is just grab one or two to add. I have been using this idea for a while now.

Kid friendly cookies recipe…one cake box any flavor I prefer Betty Crocker brand, 1/2 cup oil or melted butter, 2 eggs and 1/2 cup chocolate chips then mix well. Bake 350 for 11 minutes. 😊

Have you ever made saltines or Ritz cracker with peanut butter. Then you dip them in melted chocolate? So good. Also I think you can make saltines drizzled with butter and seasoning on them. Bake them in the oven. Good snack ideas maybe.

My mini cucumbers I wrap 2 or 3 completely in a paper towel and they last much longer. I also wash my green onions and dry completely make sure they are really dry. Then I cut them up and put them in an air tight container. They last a week or more.

Amy, season your rice!!! Get your rice and add your sazon. NO NEED to add the tomato bouillon if you are using the sazon, it adds nothing to the coloring or flavor palette since Sazon is stronger than tomato bouillon. Add 1 tsp of oil, (for looser, not clumped rice), add salt, garlic, chicken bouillon AND 2 Tsps. of your onions, garlic and pepper veggie mix you made (Hispanics have been using that for centuries and it's called Sofrito and you can buy pre-made ones in just about every grocery store in Florida including Publix and Walmart.) Then cook it exactly the same way you always have. it is sooooo much better that the rice you are cooking now. Once you feel comfortable cooking the rice that way you can add a can of beans (pink, red, pinto or navy) DON'T rinse the beans, and cook it in the rice, and you have the perfect Spanish rice. So much better than the way you are doing it now. Give it a try and you'll never go back.

Take your fresh garlic and mince/pulse it with the food processor. Scoop out with a tsp. cookie scoop and flash freeze then put the garlic balls into a freezer bag. When your recipe calls for garlic, 1 ball is the equivalent to 1 clove and its already chopped for you.

Green onion tip! If you want to chop them for recipes or toppers to nachos or recipes for a a couple weeks: chop, dry, wrap in paper towels and store in a glass snap lock container. in the fridge. Change the paper towels every 2-3 days. They easily last 2 weeks :) I watch every single day Amy for about 4 years now. I'm loving your new adventure in FL!
