Easy way to get rid of the white tendon in tenders is to take a fork, slide the tendon through the fork tine, grab the white tendon with paper towel (makes it easy to pull) and the whole,e tendon comes out without losing any of the chicken meat. Tried it once and now I cannot cook tenders without doing it. So easy and no waste! Love your channel!❤

Hallo Amy, my name is Anna and i live in Germany. I absolutly love your videos, they make me happy and i have already tried some of your recipes. Just wanted to say hi and leave a tip! Instead of throwing the pieces of chicken away, why not put them on the grill and cook them for Maxine? I bet she would love those and you wouldn't feel guilty throwing them away. Just saying!!!! ❤😂

I was a hater of dark meat from chicken/turkey but as I got older I found myself eating it and enjoying it in casseroles, pot pies and soups, I still only eat the white meat for sandwiches lol. I like to make chicken patties with the ground white and dark(fat trimmed off)meat, I chop green peppers, onions and celery in the food processor so it’s finely chopped then squeeze out the liquid and mix it with the ground chicken add salt pepper poultry seasoning and egg and bread crumbs. I make my patties very thin because that’s just how I like them. You just pan fry them and serve in nice buns with lettuce, tomato, onion and sweet pickles. I also freeze the raw patties with parchment paper between each patty

    Hi Amy,
Just a comment don't you ever clean your meat after you take from meat package? You don't ever want to see where your butchers cut the meats. They fall on the floor etc. I always wash my meat with either lemon or vinegar with salt. Soaking 10 - 15 minutes then rinse & cook. This not meant as a judgement. Just a help.

Bring slow cooker up to temp then add checken stir after 15 min then por in any extra spices etc then go to bed. New slow cookers are not slow they can brown after 1o minutes. Stop using 1990- or back sliw cookers they are now used for reheating heating cooked meals or cheese sauces non meat. Learn it know it. Amy is fine new cooker new learning & new ways because the newer cookers are fabulous she follows the steps always.

We don’t like that vein in the chicken tender either. I try my best to cut that out first. I did see where someone on Instagram used a fork to remove that vein, they pulled that vein through one of the for tines. It looked easy and simple, I am going to try that next time to get rid of that vein. As for the boneless chicken thighs. Yes they are more flavorful but again, they have fatty items that I personally like to trim off before cooking or freezing them.

Amy I’m right with you on the chicken! I occasionally buy skinless boneless chicken thighs if money is tight one month but like you I’m really fussy with my meat and I cut and trim so much off of it there’s a lot wasted. I don’t like that because not only is it a waste of money but I feel I’m not respecting the animal by not eating what I’ve bought. I try to buy the big packs of skinless boneless breasts when they’re on offer and then split them up into portions and freeze from there. I’m like it with all meat though and my stomach does do flip flops if I have to handle raw meat too much so the hubby has to do any mixing of mince etc if it’s for meatballs etc x

I like the flavor of thighs. I dont like the fat. I trim them down to all meat. I truly can not stand fat. It will actually trigger my gag reflex. So I understand about trimming the tenders and stuff.

@@Rachelmarie5272 that’s what happens when you own your own business, but it’s worth it 🙂

Could you not have cooked those chicken scraps for your dog?
Must admit not such a great fan of chicken thighs, I prefer breasts, but I always cut most of the fat off before I cook them
Loved your recipes, looking forward to your beef video.
