As always, this is filling a void in the crafting community. Ambience is such an important feature for any roleplaying game. Thanks a lot!
You had me at dank dungeon smells
Ooh! Thanks for helping those of us out who don't have a dedicated room to dress up, and who often travel *to* their game.
All I can say is that Tracy Hickman would be proud of this channel. Nice work Seb!
Stupid fire alarms … all I wanted was a little fog for my misty swamp environment. 🤬
Thanks very much! Haha yeah fire alarms are the worst! 😅
We just need the RPG economy to get good enough that DMs could get paid like DJs at weddings! (You're basically bringing the same stuff)
Love the transformation of the dining room into an immersive experience for all the players to enjoy! Thanks for the awesome suggestions!
Good stuff as always, extra tip for the smoke machine though: make sure there's something to catch the residue and protect the floor or wall where it's pointing. Else you end up with wet/oily schmears 👍🏻
Great tip, yeah I wouldn't worry about the wall if its far enough away, but yeah some smoke machines can condensate around the nozzle and drip on the floor. Also helps to use a water based fluid so it cleans up easier if something does get messy.
Fantastic video. We can't play that dark with out players but do use a Lot of ambient light colors and sounds. Just getting into smells.
These productions need to be mainstream. Your work is phenomenal and is so well produced!!
Really good suggestions, here. I'm definitely going to create the screen light, and will likely do most of the other stuff, in future, as well. Nice
These are great ideas. And very impressive that you've gotten so much out of items that can fit in just a travel bag. As always the vid quality is entertaining as well. Keep up the great work!
Thanks very much!
Forget traveling... I'll use these tools for my home games!
Quite simply sensational. There is no other channel that fills this corner of the game. Absolutely wonderful.
Might I recommend you add links to every single item in the video description so you get kick back when viewers purchase using them. I know you have some on your website, but we are all lazy and having links connected to the actual video might give you some well deserved cash.
Great suggestion! Consider it done.
This is GREAT!!!!
These are GREAT ideas, but work only in a dimly-lit room... When we play, we usually do it in a well-lit room, otherwise everyone finds way too hard to read character sheets, etc.
Thanks mate, sounds like a great challenge to do some atmosphere in a well lit environment. You can use a lot of these in a normal environment, naturally, the effect is just more dramatic in a dim room.
Hey there, buddy! It's your #1 fan again (didn't get first comment this time--bah! lol). This is a fantastic video! As luck would have it, I'm going to be hosting an away game in a week. I am going to put your tips to good use. Not sure if I can get any Adventure Scents in time, but I might grab a candle or two to make due in the meantime. You are such an expert at cranking things up a notch. I can totally see the players getting more and more into it with some of these effects at work!!!
Thanks buddy! Thanks for watching and happy to hear! There are some good scented candle options out there too. I think i have some from an Etsy merchant, but anything can be good to give a mysterious feel, maybe something like lemongrass, sage or sandlewood. The adventure scents are pretty safe and portable.
This is so good. Love your work mate.
Thanks buddy!
Hey, I equipped myself with a kit based on your suggestions in this video and deployed it this weekend. It definitely pushed the wow factor to another level.
Amazing to hear!
Thank you for the walkthrough! I'm totally stealing that LED strip behind the DM screen tip.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching 😄
Great video as always Sebastian !
Found this really inspiring. Got myself several new lights and a fog machine ready for a our next session!
Only problem I'm having is that it's quite dark for the players to read etc...with just the blue backdrop behind me, and the two Neewer RGB lights giving two tone colour. If I add any kind of 3rd white light to lift the general lightness level in the room, it washes out/de-saturates the RGB lights...need to find a way to solve that.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it inspiring! Yes always on the look out for solutions to this issue some are having. I have mounted pin spots in my setup that create a small lit spot for players to read. An idea for something more portable might be rechargeable clip on reading lights, or panel reading lights like www.amazon.com/Pieces-Reading-Family-Portable-Bookmark/dp/B09C1TWXBK
Another brilliant video keep them coming!
Great episode! I grabbed some of these lights and they've really upped the atmosphere for my gaming room. Thanks!
Thanks so much! Fantastic to hear!
Not me pausing the video like "Wait is that Belle from beauty & the beast as a town square statue?"
Ooh you got me 😅 Yeah little toys like that are a thrift store find with a quick paint over.
Absolutely awesome 😀
This is awesome!!! More people need to check this out!!
Thank you kindly!
Cha'alt!
Wow this is a fantastic video and a really great channel! Fantastic work!
Thanks very much buddy!
Fantastic content mate, Donny from Dice Chatter recommended your channel! Keep up the good work!
Thanks very much!
How do players see the character sheets Dice rolls? Good ideas but you might need to add clipboards with lights for each player
Great idea! Haven't had any complaints from my players, so there usually is enough light. A few players use tablets/laptops too. With all the lights there is usually enough ambient light, but could always go a bigger 50 watt flood light to boost it a bit more.
Great vid :)
The moving wick candles link is broken though.
This Is just wonderful! I've never seen anything like this before. I dont usually comment on videos but I think this deserves the praise! I'm from Argentina and a few of these things arent available, do you know any alternatives? And another question, besides the audio software, Is there any RPG relates software that you'd recommend for Tabletop? Thank you so much for doing these videos! Theyre amazing!
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words 😄 I try to look at a lot of alternatives for atmosphere tools on the channel, but there's a lot out there. A couple of my recent favourites are Talespire (a 3d virtual tabletop) and an Elgato Streamdeck (macro keypad for triggering soundeffects and visuals). 5e.tools/dmscreen.html is also a good digital DM screen
Hello! I loved the video! Can you tell me what software you use to make and edit your video? I love the transitions and I’m working on filming d&d sessions for my own home brew games!
Thanks for watching! I've been using hitfilm express which is free to use, but pay for add-ons. The basic free program is pretty decent and easy to use
Hey Seb,
Thanks for this video. Is there any chance of some updated links for the products you've used? The ones above are all dead (apart from Adventure sents).
Cheers mate, appreciate the heads up. Hopefully can update these links soon 👍
Great videos! Do you have a link for the wave light on the selfie stick? Also how did you convert the selfie stick to mount the light fixture?
Hey thank you! I am starting to make a proper equipment list here atmoseeker.webflow.io/equipment I couldn't find an overseas equivalent of that selfie stick, but the important part is that it has a 1/4 inch screw thread. The wave light here has holes that can fit that thread.
And if you bring a DJ Set we can party hard in da cluuuub!
Ah, no... not possible right now... oh well...
But that is some awsome stuff and truly amazing! Top notch and taken to the next level - Chapeau Monsieur!
Ha well I didnt mention the lights have a music mode that flashes.
Yeah I realise now it may be ill timed for some folks, but might be good reference for lighting a table. Hopefully people will find it useful one day, thanks for watching.
@@Atmoseeker No no, i`m just kidding! Your whole set up is perfect!
@@icemann1037 Thanks 😄
for the nebula effect lights, can more than one be controlled by a single remote?
Thanks for watching! Yeah if they're of the same brand and make a single remote should control them. If they're from different manufacturers however, a single remote may still work, but the programming may be different for each.
@@Atmoseeker makes sense lol i just already have 3 remotes for the different lighting effects i have for my games, it's getting out of hand. I'll give it a try!!
If you're wanting to automate it or minimise some remotes an RF Blaster might do the trick. www.amazon.com/BroadLink-Hub-WiFi-Control-Automation-RM4/dp/B086VD96LH
@@Atmoseeker oooo
i just might lol
Hello,
I bought pretty much everything you showed in this video and I am wondering if you have the same issues I do. All the remotes that come with each thing (Candles, LED lights, Flood Lights), I find when I use one remote for an object it tends to do things to the other lights in the room as well. Wondering if this happens to you as well and if you know of a fix for it? Thanks! Love the Channel!
Thanks so much for the support! Glad you're able to grab some great atmospheric goodies 😄 Yeah unfortunately with some remote control devices there can be signal cross over that can unintentionally trigger devices. A few ways i've gotten around it has been:
1. Strategically placing the devices so that the line of sight with the remote is restricted
2. Covering the RF sensor on the device to make it less accidental to change a device.
3. Using the device remote touching/right next to the intended device when changing
Ideally, it'd be great if all the remotes had their own frequencies, but i suspect to keep costs down a lot of the manufacturers of these lights use the same remotes/receivers.
Hello ! I bougth the doss soundbox pro from your video.y question is I don't know how to change the lights to the colors I require for the moment (example a red for a dragon lair) is it possible to choose the color at will ? Mine changes but them automatically that to flash other colors and is really frustrating.
Yes it should be possible! If you hold down the mode button for a few seconds it'll switch to the next color mode. If you do that a few times it should be able to get to the color you want. If you also want it to not flicker, you hold down the "extra bass" button for a couple of seconds. Hold that button again, if you want the lights off.
@@Atmoseeker Thanks! I see, my problem is that whe you change the color, it stays in the color you chose, and then changes back to random colors after a while and It seems I cannoc control it u.u
@atmoseeker Dx
Sorry not sure what the problem would be unless it's a different model or its faulty? I'd check out the instruction booklet
How did you attach the self stick pad to the ripple lights? Using the monopod in ur link, I've been struggling to attack the light to the monopod cuz the phone holder is too tight
Hey thanks for watching! You can remove the phone holder and replace it with the threaded attachment in that monopod kit.
@@Atmoseeker omg of course!! Thank you so much! You're amazing, you know that?? I finally have a solid light set up for my party's 3 year anniversary and it's all thanks to you!
Thank you kindly! Best of luck with the game 😄
What elements would you recommend for a beginner to purchase for good lighting.
When I started out, my main setup was a bunch of those candles and a pair those water wave lights. The candles give great ambience, and the wavelights are lightweight and easy enough to control to get some cool effects.
Hi, I'm having trouble with the Laser Ripple lights. The cord that comes with it is way too short so I can't place it on the table. What did you do to overcome this problem?
I tried getting a long dc cord with an adapter piece, then connected it to the light only to have the light burn out and erupt in smoke. Getting frustrated with the craftsmanship of this light and was wondering what you did to remedy this problem?
Sorry to hear you're having some issues. Yeah you have to be careful with voltage on some lights. If you use a too high voltage adaptor it'll burn it out as this one's only 5v.
I've lately been using a USB version of the cable which can be extended a lot easier with a USB extension cable. Amazon link: geni.us/gFJyC8u
Can you please add a link to the flood lights please?
Oh thanks for pointing that out. Will update the link. www.ebay.com.au/itm/203023017068
well darn, subscribing didn't set off the metal pipe sound effect from the opera gx metal pipe sounds mod available on the opera gx mods page, unsubscribing
